SiCantwell
I though I could use an old netwook I have to take to practices and maybe gigs to edit patches on the fly. But the bottom rows of the program are lost in the too-small screen. I moved the taskbar over to the side after I took this screenshot, but I still lose the bottom 2 or 3 rows of FX. I can't resize the Edit window, and there's nothing in display settings that seems to help. Any ideas how I could edit the effects not visible in this screen? I've attached a screenshot.
Inerzia
There's two things you can do to get a little more out of your screen:-On the task bar and start menu properties window (which you can find right clicking on the task bar) there's an option called "use small icons" (My copy of win7 is in Spanish, so some of these names may not be accurate). Check it, and (once you apply the changes) the task bar will shrink just a little. -On that same window there's also an option called "automatically hide task bar". If you are comfortable with that, it can also save you some screen space. If none of the above are enough, maybe this page will help you. TheRealZap
they've said in the past that netbook resolutions are not supported, doubtful that the program itself will ever meet your needs.... you need to find a way for your netbook to handle the resolution by scaling the screen, or seek a laptop with a bigger screen. medievil1
I've the same issue on a too large monitor (32 inch HDTV) I had to bump the dpi up because @ 1920x1080, nothing is usable (everything from fonts too small to icons being too small) and in doing that the bottom rows in HD edit are cut off. I am at a loss as to why this is an issue when most programs will auto scale to DPI either by decreasing size or adding a scroll bar.. seems like it would be an extremely easy fix... having a hard coded SET resolution isn't practical in todays world... BlackSG
I'm having the same problem with HD400 Edit using a full-size laptop. Can't get to the bottom few lines of the edit window, or to the bottom few lines of the more populated drop-down menus. I don't feel I should have to change any resolution settings on my computer when everything else in the Windows 7 environment seems to work perfectly well. Could someone from Line6 please look into this ?
BlackSG
On my Windows 7 laptop, I have temporarily moved the Taskbar from the bottom to the right side of the screen. ["Right Click" on the Taskbar and select "Properties"] This allows most of the edit window to be visible, but still not all of it. Once I'm done with edit, I move the taskbar back to my preferred location. Never had to move the taskbar before to accommodate an application. TheRealZap
what resolution are you using? it's unlikely to change though... (been that way for previous editors gearbox/edit and for years on the HD) submit the request though you never know. http://line6.com/company/contact/productfeedback/
SiCantwell
I've played with changing the resolution, but the netbook's options are pretty limited. I get a little more of the program visible when I move the task bar to the right side. It works fine on my PC, so I think I'll just have to get used to editing presets on the fly when I'm playing out.
SiCantwell
... But thanks for all the suggestions!
TheRealZap
if it's a netbook they've stated that they do not support resolutions that small... and from the screenshot your resolution is incredibly small... 4 vertical desktop icons... yikes... your best hope if you insist on using the netbook is a third party non-line6 solution for your computer. matsansan
I had the same problem with my "old" 10" touchscreen (1024x600 resolution) running Windows 7, just something to do smaller changes during rehearsals etc can be very useful. The workaround that I found was through a program called Infinite Screen, you can find it on http://ynea.futureware.at . Works perfectly fine for me, give it a try :-)
DonGreco
I have the issue of too HIGH of resolution. using POD HD 500x On my windows 8 laptop it is set at 1920x1080 and the window is waaaay small. I do not want to change my overall resolution. Maybe the next version of the edit software will allow some sort of scaling or at least an option to set the window size. Just a suggestion (to the powers that be)
joel_brown
Slightly off original topic. I use 1920x1080 and it works great for me. Are the people having issues with 1920x1080 monitors using an HDTV monitor or a real computer monitor ? The differance being a monitor that supports 1080p. Smashcraaft
:) I solved the problem on my Asus Eee PC 1005PG forcing it to run on 1024 x 768 pixel instead of the native 600px hight. (Win 7 Starter 32bit, 2GB RAM, Intel Graphics 3150 (256MB),223GB HD) Download App: Higher Netbook Resolution (aka "Change Netbook Resolution") < only needed once to release the hight of 768 pixel Download App: Borderless Gaming < which lets you run 500x/500 Edit in Fullscreen and without window-borders by default POD HD500x Edit looks a little bit blurry as the resolution is not native but it works fine, especially if you reduce monitor-gamma to get a clearer contrast on knob-symbols etc. Good luck brothers and give me your likes B) ;)
Smashcraaft
By the way. Such an Asus Eee PC works better than a cheap Windows Tablet because of its arrow-keys and the keyboard. And you can shoot one around 50-100 bucks, if you buy used. Really fun, editing meters away from the POD, sitting relaxed right in the sweet spot of the tone :)
