titchyblackcat
Hi, I'm trying to get a Beatles Vox Tone, the question is. Which Vox on the Helix would be closest to the Vox that The Beatles used ?
waymda
If you search Beatles in customtone there's a bunch of pacthes you could use as a starting point. https://line6.com/customtone/search/?submitted=1&family=helix&search_term=beatles
titchyblackcat
Thanks, most of them are for variax so, i thought i'd try and make one of my own.
Schmalle
I'd go for the Essex A30. It is a model of a top boost channel which gives you an extra dose of british jangle. But I think all Essex and Fawn models are a good choice and it depends on what you would define to be "The Beatles Sound".

You can just change the input to your non Variax guitar and use the signal chain as is. It should work just fine unless the Variax has parameter assignments to control any blocks in the CustomTone preset(s).

If I were looking to replicate those tones I'd reach for the AC30 Fawn Normal...

I tried that and the presets sound awful. 7 hours ago, codamedia said: If I were looking to replicate those tones I'd reach for the AC30 Fawn Normal... Thanks, Ill try that first. In this case that would mean a Rickenbacker 3 series. I was going to suggest a Gretsch for many of George's sounds... but I agree fully, the guitar choice is very important and a typical Strat or Les Paul will not be as convincing.
theElevators
One of the things that are very important to the Beatles guitar sound is the compression. A bright sustain-y compressed sound.
