Goyen
It would be great if we could select the tuner just like a pedal within a block chain (e.g. a Boss TU-3). More in detail: I have two HX Stomps. One in my pedal board, one standalone and as a backup. For general use, I moved the tuner in the global settings to an external FS4. However, if I only use the Stomp without the external pedal, it would be nice if in some presets I can assign the tuner to FS3 (or even FS1 or FS2). I think it would be useful if the tuner is selectable as a block, so you can add it within any preset to an effect chain. Then you can also assign it to any of the three standard footswitches. Why is the tuner not treated just like another pedal? I think many people have a 'real' pedal tuner like a Boss TU-3 in their chain. So why not treat it the same in the Stomp? Is this possible in one of the next updates? By the way: I totally love the Stomp and all its updates! Amazing job!
themetallikid
I would favor this option as well, I dislike the BPM/Tuner button where it is located, but have learned to work with it. I would love to be able to move it or add it to a preset if I want, or even have some flexibility to what engages the tuner.

By the way: I totally love the Stomp and all its updates! Amazing job! HI, There has been much discussion, both good and bad, about the tuner on the HX family of products. Suffice to say, the most likely reason that the tuner is not part of the signal chain is because it would occupy a block that in limited signal paths could be put to better use. Would you really think it is more important to have a tuner always available (actually, it always is available) rather than another FX block. Even people who have, for example a Boss TU -3, connected, would most likely have it their board before the HX unit, otherwise that would use an FX Loop block for an item that maybe only in use between songs. If you do need to adjust your tuning mid song, turn on trails in the Tuner, which will avoid reverb and delay trails cutting off abruptly, while the rest of the band keep playing. In fact this is from the HX Stomp 3.0 Owner's Manual > Page 19 > The Tuner "If you have a favorite pedal tuner and wish to use it instead of the tuner in HX Stomp, connect the HX Stomp Send output to your tuner’s input and turn Knob 1 (Output) to select “Send L/R.” This way, every time you hold the TAP footswitch, HX Stomp will automatically route the signal to your favorite tuner." Most of the time you wouldn't be looking a the tuner - treat it as a bolt on extra. After 8 years, don't expect to see this change in any Firmware Update this far down the line. BTW. Line 6 never reveal what may, or may not, be in any future firmware updates - you will only find out when it drops! Hope this helps/makes sense. Try doing it via command center & midi, providing you are not using midi for something else already. Place a midi cable between the midi In/Out... creating a loop. Set "Global > Midi Temp > Rx MIDI Clock to OFF and Set "Global > Midi Temp > MIDI PC Rx to OFF Set a stomp pedal to the midi command that engages the tuner (I think it's CC#68, but you should verify that) Side benefit... this uses a footswitch, but not a block! I do a lot of stuff like this with my Helix LT... I haven't tried it with my Stomp, but it should work.

Perhaps I misunderstand your suggestion. Would you have to perform Step 2 in all presets so that your tuner is always available? It may work but what is the actual benefit? There’s already a switch assigned to the Tuner. I guess the saving with your suggestion would be that you don’t have to hold down the switch for a couple of seconds. Sounds cumbersome to me, and not worth the downside - giving up a footswitch in all presets that is assignable to other purposes.
cruisinon2
I'd like to nominate this for "Oddest Request Ever"...by default the tuner is already available at any time via it's own dedicated footswitch. Chewing up a block and limited DSP in every patch just so you can look down and "see" the tuner as you would amidst a bunch of other stomp boxes, is pointless.

I agree... but the OP asked for a way to do it.
brue58ski
I would say that's not going to happen. The only solutions (you've probably already considered these) are your own separate pedal tuner plugged in before the HX Stomp or one of those clip on your headstock tuners.
