  1. I heard that Line 6 hired a new catering company for their lunchroom meals. Wondering if that will be something they implement into the next firmware release. I personally would love the ability to place a burrito on the expression pedal and turn the 'lunchbox amp' to 11 and have it nuked while I'm tweaking. Any help if this will be coming this year at all?

  2. Agreed on the subtleties of the player. The owner of Diamond Guitars, and I were having a conversation a little over a year ago. We got on the subject of gain/distortion as he also owns Diamond Amps. AC/DC was brought up, and according to him: They used little-to-no gain/dist, but they cranked their master vol. Now I don't know if that would help you, but I figured you either know this to be true, or false. OR you haven't heard it yet, you could try it, and it may help. Didn't hurt to post it. ;)

  3. Sounds like a straightforward pushed lead tone with some delay and possibly reverb. I personally like stacking drive and boost pedals for lead tones. I often use Kinky boost (set very low) into the Minotaur, into a Fender Deluxe model for a nice lead tone. Sounds like the player in the clip gets plenty of sustain, so hitting an amp with overdrive or compressor may also help.

  4. Sorry...I don't download files from anyone on the Internet. Post it somewhere on the Internet and send a web link. It would probably be even more useful to know what your setup is, (FRFR, 4CM. studio monitors, headsets) as that has a pretty big impact on how the sound comes out.

  5. I've found that Acoustic IR's while using my Acoustic is truly where this shines for me. It helps provide a more mic'd sound rather than direct in even before EQ. My chain goes Compressor > IR > Para EQ. I've also found that Cab IR's are useful when I don't want to carry my 4x12 cab around. I can still use my Marshall JVM410H amp for the pre-amp, and with the HX in 4CM configuration. And the Cab IR's really do sound not that bad. In a third method, I split the signal and use both my 4x12 and an IR to the PA. I could use the Emulated out on the JVM410H for this, but I'm already connected from my board to the PA for my acoustic. Therefore I don't need to take up to channels on the mixer.

  6. My unit failed after almost a year of use. Same MicroUSB issue. Line 6 support was responsive and has just issued me a replacement unit. Hopefully this one will be better. And, I, too, just also bought one of those breakaway/magnetic cables. I love everything about the G10 (for what it is and does) EXCEPT for the power supply.

  7. Hi there! Fellows on Line 6. could you give us anything such as GearBox? I guess that was an amazing program that had a great funcion and save a lot of time creating tones. I use a windows 10 PC, and I can't get no more of it! Please, help us!!! We want to play! ;-)

  8. Just got mine back from the repair shop for the second time. Both times the USB port pushed back into the unit. This time it broke the PCB so they had to replace the entire unit. I'm a basement player and extremely careful with my gear. The USB design is poor -- there's no other way to look at it. With almost zero strain relief, it's just asking for trouble.

  9. It can be done directly on the Helix or on the computer using the Editor. On the Editor just click on the camera icon and there will be a rename option. For editing it on the Helix just press the Presets knob to open the Setlist menu and then press Knob 6 (Rename Snapshots). Tthe instructions are on Page 37 of the current manual Rev. D http://line6.com/data/6/0a06439c975d5787c3e351aa0/application/pdf/Helix%202.0%20Owners%20Manual%20-%20Rev%20D%20-%20English%20.pdf

  10. Looking at it closely just now, it only inserts about halfway. The lightest tension on the cable pulls it out.

  11. A Head,... about a year,... might be time for a tube swap. The pop was probably the plate fuse opening. Needs servicing by an authorized service center. Read up on my posting about tube replacements,.... Use an authorized service center, the fuse is a very particular fuse with a specific specification,... no substitutions. And as a reminder, always plug speakers into the correct Ohms outputs. These amps are not forgiving of mods or deviations from the ops manual.
