  1. I downloaded the remote program for windows 10. I installed it with no problems, but when I try to open the program nothing happens. The Line 6 spider logo pops up then disappears .. How do I fix this, anyone had the same problem? I also have an old Iphone with the Line 6 remote app and that doesn't work either. I at least want to get the remote working on my laptop. Some one help please? The amp is up to date.

  7. Your setup sounds overly complex and you have a lot more hardware involved than you need. You JUST need the Helix, you do not need the Scarlet or the Radial boxes. Plug the Helix into your computer via USB. In your DAW (I use Presonus Studion One v4.5, I would expect it to be the same in most DAW's), add a stereo recording track and use USB1 and USB2 as the stereo inputs to record the processed guitar sound from your Helix. That's actually optional, as you don't have to record the processed track if you don't want, but I always do. Add a second mono track using USB7 as the input - this records the unprocessed DI guitar track. After recording, mute the processed track, add your processor of choice as an insert to the track (Helix Native, S-Gear, etc...) and set the tone you like. Or send the DI track back to the Helix on USB 3/4 to reprocess it there with the hardware. No other boxes required, just the Helix. See here for more detailed info on the USB I/O routing: https://helixhelp.com/manuals/helix/global-settings.html#di-recording-and-re-amplification Cheers

  8. So the bottom line seems to be The Helix originally didin't have meters because they did not work. Something to do with a refresh rate. Now they can implement them but there is so much other more important stuff to handle (like the recent update that ties all of the Line 6 devices together) it hasn't been readdressed yet. So now that all of that is done, it may be back on the table for reconsideration. It sounds like it is on the list of things to do I think that answers the OP's post. As far as their usefulness. I think it's kind of useless to talk about their usefulness. The Helix has a SEND and RETURN 4. I never use them. But others do. Since it takes nothing away from my getting everything I can out of the Helix, I don't care whether its' there or not. I would use meters. I use meters after the Helix to set levels. I had to learn the particulars of doing that and the particulars of that particular meter. And about using them in general. Like, since clean sounds aren't as compressed as distorted sounds, generally, you have to give them a wider berth so to speak, on the meter. So some people will use meters, some won't. There is no empirical yes or no answer. In other words, you're all right. when it comes to this.

  10. Best way, better data flow, less chance of interruption. Newer floor effects are not backwards compatible with earlier Variax and Workbench. A JTV with firmware v2.00 or higher should connect to Monkey and Workbench HD thru floor effects units. Though more direct thru an interface goes more smoothly. Unplug any USB hubs when doing this. Check the OS compatibility on the Downloads page on the Forum.
