  1. Just about February 2021 now, and I've been waiting since the beginning of September 2020 for Line 6 to get compliant with Mac OS Big Sur. Guess it's not going to happen in my lifetime. Must be great to be a Line 6 software engineer. Update the software, IF YOU GET AROUND TO IT. Six months later.......

  2. I've done the dance with Line 6 products for a decade, and the pattern is that they are mostly a Microsoft shop. If you're on the Mac platform, you're not of great concern to this company. The whole world KNEW mac OS Big Sur was coming. Same thing with Catalina. Developers were seeded with the tools they needed. Line 6 could have supported BIg Sur on the day Big Sur came out. They chose not to do so. Line 6 apparently just doesn't care to get on the ball for this "minority." If you're on the Mac platform, give serious consideration before investing any more resources into Line 6. They want you to buy tings for the holidays, but beware -- if you're using a Mac, you're last in line to get your software updated and compatible with the products you purchased. Not sure why they're so cavalier about it, but on September 11, 2020, they posted a notice indicating they would be working on making their products compatible. This is being written on December 4, 2020, and still no work and no progress And if you're waiting for Pod Farm 2 to be "fixed" so it displays in a full-screen manner forget it. Not gonna happen, according to Line 6. Nice. I got my mponey's worth, but there are people who are going to buy things for this Christmas, and they are going to be very upset. Totally avoidable, Line 6, but you lost your way. Be advised.

  3. Free 3.01 presets added to some of my Helix & HX Stomp packs ! Helix users : I added bonus presets in the following packs : - "The Djent pack" : 2 new presets (with Das Benzin amp models) - "Big Pack add-on" : 12 new presets (with Das Benzin and Us Princess amp models, and some new effects too) HX Stomp users : I added bonus presets in the following packs : - "Djent & Prog Metal" : 2 new presets (with Das Benzin amp models) - "Cleans" : 6 new presets (US Princess amp model) - "Metal" : 4 new presets (with Das Benzin amp models) To access the new presets, just re-download the .zip file from the "purchase history" section of my website ( https://fremenpresets.com/line-6-helix/ and https://fremenpresets.com/line-6-hx-stomp/ )

  4. The sheer "number" of votes cannot be the only thing taken into account. Meters have always had the highest number of votes (by far) and took more than 4-5 years to get. I've seen other things added with just a handful of votes. Quite often things are added that don't even appear on ideascale. Like any business.... they'll have a board room where all options are considered and debated. I'm sure they are well aware of the chatter on the forums or in the FB group, but ideascale is the official place to make a request. IMO... if they can find a way to add the global EQ to the digital outputs without permanently reducing DSP availability I'd be happy to upvote it. But I do not want to give up precious resources if that is the only option. I'm also aware that if I owned a PC or DT, I'd probably feel very differently about that :)

  5. If the noise pickup of single coils is a problem for you, then you need noiseless pickups. But Fluence is just one solution. There are lots of noiseless single coil replacements for your Strat or Tele. And yes, the helix has a noise gate, but if you want dynamics in your playing - especially for low and medium gain, you don't want to do too much with a gate. From personal experience on a noisy stage - you know the ones with lots of lighting etc - if noise drives you nuts (it does me), the Helix can't fix all that buzzing and fizzing. I use Dimarzio Area 61pickups and am very happy - but there are Kinman and even Fender solutions. People will tell you they aren't as good as single coils, but when you don't have to fight the noise, I'd say the freedom to adjust your tone lets you sound better. Personal opinion!!

  6. Ok nevermind. I've found that disabling the hardware compatibility option, does allow me to assign same CCs as the hardware. Which is IMHO a nonsense, as they were already assigned and stored in the preset, exactly to respect the Hardware compatibility mode. Bah?! Anyway, at least this way seems working, even if I have to reassign CCs to blocks, to be exactly the same as they were in the preset, LOL. :) See in this pic. The original assignment are those with dimmed colors, and referring to hardware footswitches. Those can't be used... But then, disabling compatibility mode, does allow me to reassign those same CCs as the hardware, as in the pic. Looks like a bug to me, or a bad design.

  7. The longer and deeper I get in, trying to do the perfect setup for my JTV-59 the harder I feel that the bridge is not placed well by the factory or specs. If I try to setup the intonation well, I have to place the string-adjustment-sliders on the bridge (don't no the proper term for ist in English) back, at the very end, both on low E and A. There is no way to screw them more backwards so I am very glad, that this is the point, where intonation is okay but not perfect. I am in contact with some other players of the JTV59 and they can confirm my guesses. Besides there are some images of the 59er bridge in the web, witch indicates the same problem. Of cause there are other images where the adjustment-sliders are shown the right way but I am pretty sure not everyone is even testing the intonation. But here is also an older thread on this topic without any statement of L6 http://line6.com/support/topic/3630-jtv-59-intonation-problem-with-9s/?hl=jtv-59+intonation String gauges I tried... 9-46 10-46 10-52 I even tried to proof the intonation using a capo and measuring the 13. fret. Also the tiny screws at the bridge are adjusted as long as possible, without loosing the possibility to adjust the height of the bridge by covering this screws. I would like to ask psarkissian if this is a known "issue" (you don't have to call it an issue as I am sure you are not allowed) so I can stop my search for the holy grail of intonation. Otherwise I like to ask for further advices getting the bridge adjusted the right way.

  8. Hey can someone tell me why the Own Hamer IRs I purchased from Line 6 be seen by my power cab plus they will load into the Helix but the power cab doesn't see them obviously because their HIRs not waves?

  9. I can't speak for every JTV59. But for my JTV59, I think if the bridge height screws were both 5mm further back, then the slots in the bridge to access the height screws would be more centrally aligned allowing more backwards and forwards movement for the whole bridge. That in turn would allow the string saddles to be moved further back if necessary - although it may prevent them from being moved as far forward as required if somebody prefers to set higher action. The fact that the entire bridge can be moved forward or backward should provide the necessary flexibility to get the string saddles in the perfect positions for intonation even if it does mean that the bridge itself will obscure and possibly prevent access to the bridge height screws. But as I mentioned above - if you set the height first and then move the bridge backwards/forwards and adjust saddles then you should be ok. I know that is not perfect but it should be a workable solution. Obviously, if the entire bridge is moved to the furthest extend backwards, and the string saddle still hits the back of the bridge and the intonation is still not correct because it requires the saddle to be moved further back then I would say that there is a manufacturing fault and the guitar should be returned as faulty.

  10. I have a JTV59 and when I set the intonation on mine, I found I was quickly at the end of the extent of movement for the low E saddle. So I had to move the entire bridge backwards using the tiny screws that allow it to slide backwards on the mounts, and I found that it soon started covering the large screws used for height adjustment. In other words, the slot through which you access the height adjustment screws was moving backwards and the screws started to get obscured by the bridge. I think the easiest solution in these cases is to set the string height (action) first - then once happy with that you set the intonation - if you can't move the saddles back far enough to get the correct intonation then you have no choice but to move the entrie bridge back so it starts to cover the height adjustment screws. This should not be a problem because you have set your desired string height already. Obviously, if you wish to change string height after setting intonation, then you will have to slide bridge forward again to access the height adjustment screws. Hope that helps.
