  1. I've had my speaker bags for about 6 to 8 months they are still in perfect condition... and I do stack them in my vehicle. That said I tend to baby things even in the bags.
  2. I also use the Sennheiser in ears.. I love them. They can take stereo inputs.. I found the best value is to by the transmitter with 2 receivers at 1200 its a great deal, I have two of these so, two transmitters and 4 receivers. As far as I can figure this can only really give me two separate mixes but I find that setting up a stereo mix really help reduce the need for 4 separate mixes. When you can pan things it really helps you pick yourself out in the mix without the need of making ME louder. So ultimately, a mix for bass and drums stereo and a mix for guitarist/ keyboardist stereo should make everyone happy. I mean it's a huge step up from everyone sharing one floor wedge mix which many of us did for years and years. I feel like all the advancements in technology is turning is into a bunch of princesses... I'm into it all, but at the same time, our band can suffer through only having two in ear stereo mixes...or one wireless stereo mix, one mono wireless mix and one wired mono mix which is another option with another minor expense of an XLR to headphone device.
  3. +1 to Bassman24's comments. I think it's pretty common that if you don't navigate to the root of the SD card you can't get it to show up. I ran into that issue as did many others, it's just the way the M20d works.
  4. This is also true of the monitor sends and for the exact same reason. You don't want to load a new setup and suddenly be greeted with a bunch of feedback because the new settings are hotter than what you currently had.
  5. I'll be curious to see what you are using as well. I have the Apple USB to ethernet adaptor. I was hoping to be able to plug a USB with canned music straight into the USB hub of my airport express but the M20d doesn't see it I would like to be able to run the canned music from a different medium than I am recording to.
  6. I guess it depends what you want to use the media player for. I use it to play "DJ" music between sets, so I don't want it to stop automatically. On the other hand if you're using it for backing tracks you probably want it to stop after each song. As you can see whether or not this needs to be fixed is a matter of perspective. If they change it to suit your needs it's broken for mine. Is there a way to start/stop with a foot switch? That would be the best solution. Since a band using it for backing tracks would be up on stage anyway and have access to the the foot switch. Personally when I'm playing music between sets, I just want to let it play and sit and relax somewhere not sit by the mixer pressing start again for each new song.
  7. sure just use the quick capture as you normally would and then let it play back while you tweak your monitor mix. If you don't want front of house going while your doing this turn it down using the master volume knob. If you mute all it mutes the individual channels from the monitors as well. I would suggest once your done you bring the FOH back up again as it usually has an impact on how you hear the monitors. Also I think the quick capture erases when you turn off the M20d so if you want something you can use gig to gig, you'll need to record something to the SD card.
  8. My update went very smoothly as well... Back up and restore saved everything ... Very thankful for that. I don't know if it's designed this wY but it gave me the option to choose SD or USB to back up to but would only successfully back up to USB.. I think if I ever have to do it again, I'll just take the SD card out while backing up. The functionality is vey very nice... Thanks Line 6 great job!!!!
  9. Thanks Brian, I had followed those steps but my setups were gone and I think at that early stage, I just had setups and no presets or scenes. The setups are more important to me because I can load in a setup and it loads up all the channels and settings I need for my band to just plug and play. If it only saves presets. I'm physically going to have to a) from my existing setups create presets for everything that is plugged in, and then b) once I update start again from scratch loading in the individual presets to create the entire stage mix. Now it seems to me that when I create my own preset, it actually includes trim and FOH levels. So while tedious it may mean that I can get my FOH mix back. The problem is... for which band and which room. I have a vocal preset that I named Kevin's OM5 and another that's named GR-55. I load in those presets into each setup for all 3 of my bands. But obviously there is going to be some adjustments in the level between bands. And sometimes again with each band from room to room, so the bottom line is I'll have to recreate the mix when I recreate the setups. All this isn't even touching the crucial topic of monitor mixes. If I create a preset for the monitors will it remember how much send from each channel? Or on my vocal/instrument presets will they remember how much send level goes to each monitor? Or am I going to have to start from scratch building monitor mixes. Now that I have gone to in ear monitors with each band, the monitor mixes aren't affected by the stage or by the room. So once you dial in a good mix, everyone just has to be responsible for making sure their output levels are consistent at the source instrument. Setups capture all these important settings and are much quicker to load, even if you have to make minor tweaks in a new room, you're way ahead. So for me anyway it's crucial to be able to save them. I think these new features are going to be awesome so I'm going to update, but I'd rather know ahead of time if I'm going to have to document all my settings so that I can recreate them rather than find out after the update and all those settings are gone for good.
  10. While we are waiting for clarification and for the link to be corrected to 1.2, I wonder if anyone knows the secret to saving our setups and personal presets and of course scenes. When I did the update to 1.1 which was "almost" immeditately after getting the M20d, I tried to save all that stuff but after updating I couldn't find any of it. Now this far in, I have different set ups for different rooms and different bands as well as presets for my vocal mic and other mics that I use in my bands as well as my guitars etc. It would be a real setback to lose all that after updating.
  11. I also think he was saying the the recording was louder than the live play, do even if there was back line amps, the recording should sound quieter since the backlines would no longer be at play. My band also uses no backline and electronic drums. And it has been out perception as well that the recording played back at sound check is louder than when we are actually playing... I've been meaning to try to check this with a decibel meter but haven't gotten an opportunity due to time constraints. Like I said so far it's just out perception, theoretically it doesn't seem possible.
  12. I was so stoked, I emailed all my band members as they all use iPad to mix their own monitors so this is a big feature for them. Had email them back and tell them we have to wait a bit for this. I guess I should have waited...LOL. I imagine they were getting the page ready and didn't realize it was actually live.
  13. Ya I think it sounds great as a bass amp. I'm not a bass player but I have tried it out.
  14. I think I asked for this on the old forum, so I concur with the concept. Thing is, now I've already purchased 2 L3s. I could use the extra space in my car, but damn, I love these subs.
  15. I'm of two minds on this; for one of course we all would like to see new goodies and improvements to our invesment and I'm no different, the prospect is exciting. On the other hand, I can't call it a shame if no updates come or even be remotely disappointed in this product. Every time I go to a gig and fire up this system and get amazing pristine sound, it's hard to express disappointment - especially since it's performing it's prime function above and beyond any competition in the price range and probably far above the price range. So I kind of try not to expect anything but I'm quietly hopeful. All that said, if Line 6's track record is anything to go by, I'm confident they will continue to try to improve and support the M20d just as they have with all of their other gear.
  16. I don't personally try to push into the orange with anything. I think yes your best bet is keep the DT25 for now and keep trying to build L2t patches from scratch. If you start to figure out a recipe for getting the tones that YOU like with that combination you can eliminate the DT 25 from the equation at that time.
  17. To me, someone who is buying a mixer for $2000 most likely knows what line inputs are vs mic inputs. This is a pretty sophisticated mixer and it's understandable that people might have higher expectations just because it does so much to begin with. I also recognize that there are a lot of unique scenarios that performers and sound engineers can find themselves in. That said, the mixer still has what is says it has, 12 mic inputs and 4 line inputs. If you're trying to run 16 live mics with this mixer you might not have the right tool for the job, because you bought a mixer that has 12 mic inputs. That doesn't mean there are no possible solutions for your personal situation, but it might take some re-alignment of how you are plugging things in and maybe some adaptors to compensate for the input types.
  18. I'm afraid I don't have my HD500 anymore (sorry Line 6) I went a different route with the GR-55, I still don't use an amp and I'm happy with all my tones. That said when I had my amp Mesa Mark V and my HD500, I wound up selling the Mark V because I was getting great tones direct to PA. I can't recall what sort of settings I used but I think it was just a matter of getting used to build patches that way. Eventually you stumble on to what works and you have your recipe. You used to building the patches with the amp and you know what works. There's also that possibility that you might not be able to match it to your satisfaction. But the HD500 is pretty deep.
  19. Actually, now that I think of it I may have had to modify the pole mount a bit but it was easy and again as long as it doesn't affect the L3t.
  20. They lined up perfectly, I just undid two of the flymount screws, put the pole mount in place and then screwed the flymount screws back in. Totally reversible with no damage to the L3t at all.
  21. The first thing that comes to mind is that if you are using a DT25 you probably have the cabinet models out of the equation. Switching to studio/direct won't just fix that. I would check to see if you have any cabinet models assigned to your patches. If not, switch back to studio direct, put the L2t back into reference/PA mode and then call up one of your patches that was giving you trouble and go into the edit mode and add a cabinet model. You may have to try different cab models to get the sound you're looking for. This would explain why it sounded better with the L2t in electric guitar mode, since that mode simulates a 2X12 cabinet with a bit of extra high end sparkle.
  22. I didn't necessarily want to bring this back to the forefront but I have been doing this for quite a few gigs now and since I have both long and short Line 6 threaded speaker poles I have found that I have great flexibility. I want to go on record as saying that I heed dBoomers advice re: tipping but with these small LEDs it really isn't an issue any more than the speakers themselves. I wouldn't try this with wider heavier lighting trees. In my last post I stated that you would need to cut down some speaker/light poles but at the time of that post I didn't have the short Line 6 poles. Now I have the option of mounting the L3t's on the short poles on top of the L3s's and using the long Line 6 poles for the lights or vice versa, mount the L3t's on the long Line 6 poles and use the short ones for the lights. I don't have to use the cut down lighting poles at all anymore. I will endeavour to take some pics of each variation over the next coming gigs so you can see how the set up looks in either configuration.
  23. I don't think this thread was intended as asking line 6 to put all the stuff everyone else wants on hold while they fix the media player. But it is a feature on this mixer, and some people may have been hoping it could be used for backing tracks live and need a little more flexibility to make that work for them. For me personally, its getting the job done but it is pretty basic. In some of the clubs i play, they love that i can provide thumping dance music in between sets, most clubs don't have anything that sounds even close to my dreamscape system. So there's a few good reasons to improve it even if every user isn't using it. Sure there are other things that we'd all like to see, but I think it's fine to express anything you'd like improved. Line 6 will address what they can in the order they see fit.
  24. Definitely, and it just randomly loads when you select all. A basic alphabetical order beginning with numbers would be great. Then I can number the songs in the titles on my USB and when I load them using a load all, they will load in that order and playback in that order.
