This is interesting. I would have bet that most of the users are in there 20th, because so many demos are in the metal department. ... Not that older people can't play metal ;-)

Thanks so much Glenn for this demo. I was waiting for someone demoing the vintage pack.

Amen ;-)

Have you tried to calibrate the pedal? http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-hd500-hd500x/pod-hd500xhd500-pedal-calibration-r161

Jennifer Batten on Variax

I saw an Interview with her where she had this guitar: The joy of the guitar riff: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b049mtxw -
I recently bought a Fender Mustang III. It does sound good on its own without the HD500. But it has also an effects loop and you could connect the POD with the 4CM. I tried it for a quick test and it sounded pretty good. I think with some tweaking you could get a great tone out of it. Even if I believe you would end up playing it without the POD like it happend to me ;-)

I didn't notice any difference when updating. Is the global EQ turned off?

Can my luthier repair my JTV69?
Dshow replied to guitar4u's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
I bought a second hand Variax a month ago and it had a similar issue with the volume and tone knob. I opend it up and found that the cables of the knobs where wobbly - they were only put in without solder. I don't know if this the case with all variax. I decided to solder them on and the problem was solved. No drop outs or noise issue since then. This is not hard to do. If your luthier has done electronics on other guitars it shouldn't be a problem for him to do (if it's the same issue). -
You have to keep in mind, that most of the well known AXE users use it becaus they get it for free as an endorsement. This is also something, that blows the price of the unit - because companies have to calculate alle the spents for endorsement, publicity and so on. Especially all those gear viedeos on Youtube - most of them tell you something is good because they get paid for.

Thanks!

Where do we find them? I have a self assembled strat with tonerider pickups maybe I could give a try. I rarley use other models than acoustics. Don't find them very good. I never used workbench so far.

There are lots of requests about costumtone on IdeaScale but they are just ignored. I made myself a request for some changes including the choose of the pickup type. Regarding comemnting an uploaded tone I'm able doing it but not soon after uploading it. Once uploaded the tone I have to go to "My tones" then click on the name of the tone I'd like to add a comment. In the detail view of the tone move over the comment field and it is highlighted. When clicking in the highlighted field you can insert a comment. That works for me.

Maybe I should give them more attention. I always saw them as for using with an external amp. Since I'm mostly play through my headphones and tweak the speaker options a lot I never gave much attention to the Pre's
-
Thanks for clarification
-
Any reason for that? Good to know, I almost never use Pre version of the amps, so model packs would be quite useless for me.

Attention Line 6 some honest feedback from a new user..pros and cons
Dshow replied to awesomejohn7's topic in POD HD
There are lots of good points you mentioned awesomejohn7 and I agree with most of them. But I find 3 days is too short, even if you are a pro. I think you should spend some more time with the unit (of course this will not solve the hardware issues ;-) ). Especially with programming you own patches. The factory presets are not good - everybody says that (I don't get why they don't change that). In addition everybody has it's own tone in mind and has different gear so one single patch will sound different. I only was satisfied with the HD500 when I started to dial my own tones or at least tweaking some of the costume tones.- 45 replies

Yeah, I know. Also Musikraft does it for $40. I've bought one for my MJT Strat. -

I actually quite like the original neck but would prefer a one piece maple neck and stainless steel frets. I've put on 11 strings for better acoustic sounds and the frets wear out quite easy with bigger strings. -
I'd love to see some more (non-metal) demos of the vintage pack. Seems that everybody doing demos is into dark metal these days.

OK, thanks I'll give it a try

Yes, I think that's why many people complain about it. Hey we are all stupid in a certain way ;-) -

Wanted to buy the new HD Models bundle but had to pay 24$ in taxes
Dshow replied to Guitarmaniac64's topic in POD HD
That's normal and we have to pay everytime we import something from non-EU contries. I hate it but it is like it is. When I bought the model packs for the POD XT it also was 99$ but I payed the 99$. Now it seems that they have changed that. That's why I didn't buy the model packs yet It's way too expensive here. I'm mainly interested in the vintage pack so maybe I'll get that when time comes. But for now I'm fine how it is.
