Hi, it is 20 years ago since I've owned a tube amp. I mostly play at home with headphones connected directly to my HD500. Now I'd like to buy a little tube amp and found that the Bugera V22 is a really good sounding amp for a good price. Even if it is a 22 watt tube amp I'm afraid that it could be too loud for playing at home, since you have to crank a tube amp up a little to find its sweet spot. Now my Idea was to connect the HD500 with the 4 cable method to the Bugera amp and place a volume pedal as the very last effect in the HD500 in the effects loop. So I could crank the Bugera up a little and then reduce the volume with the volume pedal so that the output would be in lower volume. I don't know if this is possible. Anyone tried that out already?

If nobody wants to pay for - just don't buy them. If nobody buys they'll drop the price, simple as that. But I guess many will buy them ;-)

I just wanted ask the opposite. I don't need global EQ and would turn it totally off so that it would't effekt any of the patches I have. I think this will be possible otherwise it wouldn't make any sense. For single Patches EQ you can use the existing EQs?

Thanks for the clearification. So I might play around a little bit with that knob in the future.Thought it would add just plain hum.
-
I'm wondering why Line 6 added the HUM Button to the Amps. As far as I know it only adds - well - Hum. I mean I always turn it down to 0. Who wants any hum in the sound? I don't get it.

Avid sells the Extension Pack for around 99$ too but they also ship the New Eleven Rack with the Extension Pack included for the sam price as before.

custome tones want to open in reason instead of hd500 edit
Dshow replied to deucethesoundman's topic in POD HD
With right click I meant right click on the h5e file. Then a menu appears with an entry "open with" (or similar - I'm not on a english PC). Then you get a list with programs to open it and there you can set a mark to use the HD Edit as standard program to open the files. Hope this is understandable better - I could make a screen shot but as I said not on a english PC. Sorry deucethesoundman thought you where using a pc. I don't know how to do that on a MAC -
I also still have the HD500 and I'm not going to update to the HD500x because for me there is no reason. I don't run into DSP Overload that often because I mainly use minimalistic setups - I don't like my tone overloaded by a lot of effects. One reason to update to the HD500x would be if in future the HD500x would be shipped with all the Expension packs included (just like Avid did with Eleven Rack). Then yes I would update. Other than that I will update only if a follower comes out. I really think you can get lucky with any gear as long as you learn to use it right (If you basically like it).
-
I guess Line 6 should ship new 500x with all the packs included. That was done with the elven rack expension pack and I find it quite fair. Users who have already a POD HD could buy the extension Pack and those who buy new, get some extra. I would thinkt to upgrade from HD500 to the HD500x then. Also I find it better to offer just one Bundle with all included for a reasonable price not different Bundles. I see people complain already because half of the patches from custom tone won't work for them, because the for ex. got only the vintage pack.
-
I was wondering the same. I hope I can keep my loved HD500. Don't wan't to update to 500x. I might get the whole bundle even if I'm mainly interested in the vintage Pack. Is there an acoustic amp?

That's why the voting system on Custom Tone doesn't make any sense to me. It depends on so many things how a patch sounds. I always create different tones for every guitar I use even for do adjustments for different pickup positions.

Interesting, I find that those knobs where the best Update for the HD. I use them all the time but it's more about the feeling when playing than the tone shape. Regarding the JCM-800 I was playing around a bit this weekend and found out that turning back Low Cut in the Cab Parameters a bit seems to work for me very well with that model. Anyway, good luck finding your product and let us know how you decided.

Right click on a .h5 file and choose HD Edit as Standard program to open those files -
That would be great ;-)

Just read Line6 tweet: Seems that there will be some News for us soon

I think Line 6 should concentrate on the sound- and recording option on the HD series. Also on making HD Edit more comfortable - not optimising for mobile devices. For that is the Amplifi series and thats good as it is.
-
Does it work good in combination with the HD? I'm really thinking of buying one. I could get it for around 100€ here, and if it really works, it would be good investment.

I use the tube screamer a lot for boosting too but in my opinion it colors the sound too much. I don't like the EQs in the POD, because I feel they take out a lot of the "punch" and that changes the feel when playing (play only with headphones at the time)

Thanks for the answer hurghanico! I'll try the options your mentioned.

Hi, is there something I can use as pickup booster in the HD? I have only single coils guitars and like the Idea of this pedal Can we simulate that in the POD HD? Thanks

Hi, some time ago Peavey introduced Peavey ReValver 4 - a modelling PlugIn for Guitar. It comes with something they call Audio Clonig Technologie. Here's a short presentation: http://youtu.be/WhOkbcvDNyc?t=2m5s What do you think of this? I mean it certainly can be improved, but I like the idea. It has the advantage that you can still use your own guitar. Also the sounds are still coming from the magnetic pickups so the problem with palmuting and so on, don't exist.

Thanks for this hint silverhead. I checked all my presets and changed the Vol knob to unlocked. It seems to work now. -
Volume Knob suddenly stops working
Dshow posted a topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Hi, I spend some time with my Variax JTV-69S and HD500. I was playing around with the Line 6 Edit Software then it happened that the HD500 did a reboot on its own. After the reboot the volume knob on the guitar didn't work anymore - not on the models nor on the real pickups. The volume was always full open - no matter what I did with the volume knob. The guitar was connected with the Ethernet Cable (the original that came with the guitar). After playing around with the Alt Tune knob the volume knob started working again. Today I played with the variax again and the volume knob stoped working again - this time without the reboot of the HD500. The Edit software was opened. Don't know if it has to do with that. Any ideas? Thanks a lot -
