With "holding" they mean press them and hold down until the message appears - then let go

There's a "Talent" option i the global settings - set it to 200% ;-)

Try to shorten the name. I have found that IRs can not be imported if the name is too long - the program crashes. Also as you found out if the path to the file is too long - the program crashes (like: C:/bla/bla/../../../../some-cab-name-mic-position.wav) I think this is a bug in the Helix application Edit: Just read that that has been fixed. Haven't installed the new version yet.

Just wanted to write the same :-) I have no problem with advertising if everything is transparent - they did already link the page on Facebook Helix group. No problem with that. I was wondering a few things though: - Why are the IRs 1,5 - 2x the price of others well known IRs? - They don't have free examples to try. As it has beeing said a sound sample doesn't say anything. I won't buy them blind without try at least on of them first.

I always thought it would be behave like this - the effects placed before the amp block in helix would behave the same as I would put them between Guitar and Input of the real amp - the effects placed after the amp block in the helix is routed like I would place them in the effects loop of a real amp

Thanks for your answer and this article. Interessting - I've thought that higher impendance does also effect the quality of the sound. My Sennheiser HD280 Pro are 80 OHMs and the headphone volume is at 13 o'clock.

I have tried those a few weeks ago in the music shop and they sound very clean and even. They are available with different impendance. Just of curiosity: what impendance do you use with the helix?
-
I use the Sennheiser HD280 Pro. Used them for a long time with the HD500 and always did a great job. I've heared a lot of good things about the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro too. The Sennheiser seem to have a little more bass which I personally like.

Helix does sound great with good headphones. I use it with Sennheiser HD 280 Pro, which I used for many years with the HD500 too. But you have always adjust the patches to fit your gear. I really never use any of the custome tones as they are - most of them do not sound good at all with my equipment. Some don't sound as bad and I try to adjust them to my needs.

I know that I will love the Matchles amp :-)

You can move the delay on a parallel block to the amp for this
-
Wow, that sounds good ;-) Looking forward to it, but I'm busy with the stuff that's in it now anyway :-)

Hi, there is the possibility to load IRs with 2048 and 1024 sample. What is the difference between those two, meaning does it have a big impact on the tone if 1024 sample is used? I have tried both and feel that there is not that much difference. What sample was used when Line 6 created the cabs that are in helix? Thanks :-)

Does your IR have a pretty long name? If so I think there is a bug. I had the same problem: http://line6.com/support/topic/16083-helix-bug-reports/page-7?do=findComment&comment=132411

I'm on a laptop and have no additional USB hubs attached. There is a thread where other poeple had problems with importing setlists and bundles. I think it is a bug in the software. Never had any problems with USB. Also HD500 always worked without problems.

I have no idea. I'm on Windows 10

How do you know what version of the software your Helix is running?
Dshow replied to Dylanguitar's topic in Helix
Yeah that is something that I noticed pretty soon. I think they will integrate that in future as it is pretty important (at least I hope so). -
My advice: Give it a little more time Explorer the factory presets Copy those that sound decent to you and adjust to your taste After that - Make your own patches! Play around with the amp settings (Master, Sag, Bias, Bias X) Adjust the cab parameters if needed (Low Cut, High cut if needed) I wasn't that impressed by the factory presets eighter, but after I build my own sounds I'm pretty happy. I had all versions of the POD including the X3. It is certainly a matter of taste but I would be very supprised if you wouldn't like the helix after playing around a bit. I think you have to get used to it after playing with the X3 for such a long time. Let us know your opinion in 1 - 2 week or so ;-)

I have found a bug in Helix program: When you try to import an IR with a long name the progam crashes. I've tried to import the free sample from Red Wire and the name was like this: "Marshall1960A-G12Ms-SM57-CapEdge-1in.wav" After renaming in "1960A-G12Ms-SM57-CapEdge-1in.wav" the IR is imported correctly.
