  1. Hi, I'm recording with helix directly into the DAW using the USB. What I have noticed is, that the output volume is pretty low. I usually record the processed signal in one path and on another the dry signal. The dry signal is even much lower but I guess that is desired so that the signal isn't too hot when reamping. But my processed signal is way too low too - even when the amp volume is at 8-10. The only way to get a higher volume is to raise the USB Level. I have to set it to +8 for my clean patch and to +6 for the distorted patch. Is this normal or do i miss something? I used to record with the HD500 and there you could set the volume in the driver settings. Never had a problem with low volume. Thanks
  2. Are you on the last firmware? For me it seems that it has been improved with the last firmware. You could also match your prefered tuner by setting the offsets accordingly or are you talking about the sensibility and the visual granularity?.
  3. I've postet this Idea, so already voted it :-) IR handling really needs to be improved. Thanks for posting it here!
  4. I found a bug in Helix Editor that appears from time to time: - Try import an IR - When the dialog appear click on cancel so that it doesn't import - After that you can't import IRs anymore until you restart the Editor.
  5. Good decision :-) I've moved from the HD500 to Helix in December - never looked back
  6. No mystery - watch the Line 6 Video:
  7. I use the software Transcribe! from Seventhstring a lot for practising or transcribe songs. When practicing new songs I often loop certain sections and slow them down and gradually speed them up again. I thought it would be cool if I could control these functions with Helix and found out that i works pretty well. So I thought you might be interested in how to do it. Anyway, here's the article with a video How to use Line 6 Helix as MIDI Controller for Transcribe! http://dshowmusic.com/line-6-helix-as-midi-controller-for-transcribe/ Scroll down to the bottom of the article for the video! Enjoy

    headphone sound

Thanks for the answer cruision2 but mine was a simple question not a complaint or anything.
  9. Very nice tone and playing
  10. I agree with Quality over Quantity. I rather like 10 amps in the highes possible quality than 200 in an OK quality. I'm using only 4-5 amps most of the time anyway.

Do you get enough volume with the 300Ω? I have the Sennheister HD280 Pro 80Ω Version and have the volume more half way up already. By the way what was the thought behind having the Headphone output at only 12 Ω?
  12. Yeah Redwirez are good IRs as long as you are ready to invest some time finding the right IR for the sound you're after. I've dialed in some patches where I use two IRs left and right. On one I put a cab with a Ribbon and on the other the same cab with a SM57. Great result.
  13. I use Helix almost only with Headphones at the time and it sounds and feels great. Of course you will have to adjust the patches to your needs or create your own.
  14. There's a bug with the tuner output in firmware 1.12: - Enter the tuner and set the output to "Multi" - Restart Helix - Now the clean signal is coming through all the time. I mean there is the processed signal but also the unprocessed, so that the clean guitar comes through. Happens on all patches. If you enter the tuner and exit again then the unprocessed signal is gone. I've noticed this on the Headphone output. Not sure if it happens on all outputs.
  15. Command Center Bug: Copying and Pasting All Commands sets the Labels to default and you have to rename them again. The label should be copied too.
  16. The offsets where there before. I've set them all the time. They fixed the bug with the output, that was set to none every time you turn Helix on. It seemed to me that the tuner was a little more sensitive when I tested it after Updating to 1.12 but could be only in my head.
  17. 3 Sigma Audio, Rosen Digital, Ownhammer, Redwirez
  18. Yeah, I have a pretty good acoustic patch, where I use an IR, but the original question was to use variax piezo only. That would open a lot more possibility and the hardware is already there. Why not use it.
  19. If you restart Helix it goes back to Mute. The settting is not saved - at least on my Helix. I wanted request this for a long time: @nippyjun Did you open an Idea on Ideascale?
  20. I like the info and the pictures - thanks for that. But I don't complain that we have more options to tweak than on the original.
  21. That might be true. I set the reverb so that you rather feel it more than you hear it, unless I use it as an effect.
  22. I'm OK with the reverb. I mean they aren't the best in the world but they work just fine. I use subtle effects most of the time anyway and in my chains they seem to work fine.
