We have two differnent usage and opinions here and that's fine. I understand your standpoint but I have a different usage and live in different circumstances, so everything is fine - just accept there are more options. Live is not a one way street.
-
It's not the noise that comes out, it's what comes in ;-)
-
Unfortunatley these offers are only valid in the US. I just got an amplifi as christmas present for my brother but wasn't able to get the deal with the wireless.
-
Unfortunatley this is not always possible. I live in a flat and needed closed Headphones. Had the Sennheiser HD280 and now I use the HD380 - they sound great and the feel is also very good.
-
I don't use delays a lot but if I do its the Vintage Digital.
-
There's no need to start a discussion on that level, though. Everyone is free to have it's own opinion and is free to join or leave the group.

TheAmpFactory has a sale too but the website with IRs is empty, because of a relaunch. Code: FRIDAY16 I prefer Redwirez over Ownhammer btw. but no sales as far as I know.

Yeah, it would be better to make the existing one a better place ;-)

That's all right and I agree with you but I think he opened the group with the wrong expectation. You can't open a facebook group and invest all your spare time and think that if you do invest your time Line 6 will notice and employ you as a fix Line 6 member. It just doesn't work that way. He now noticed this and tries to make benefit in other ways, which is totally fine but I also understand that some people will leave the group because they are bugged by the sticky posts and an advert every third post. Peace ;-)

So... Line 6 Litigator inspired by boutique mid-gain amps - DISCUSS ! :)

The new Litigator is an excellent sounding model. I've tried it with an Marshall cab (IR). It adds a lot of headroom and cleans up nicely. My guess is that it was modelled after a Dumble Overdrive Special. -
That's what I do every time before updating - it helps a lot

I agree with you that on the other facebook group a lot of publicity is going on. Especially with sticky posts or posts with inviting to join premium group appear regularly. My guess is that chad didn't expect that whole lot of work that it apparently is and would like to have at least a compensation for all the time he puts in and I'm sure this is a lot. I understand it and for me it's kind of OK - I just don't react on the commercial offers because I have no need. But there are times I feel it's a bit too much. I'm not joining another facebook group at the time - sorry. In fact I was thinking about leaving the existing one because I haven't got that much time and find it more useful if questions are posted here in this forum or over on TGP. But good luck.

I don't know about the Hs5 but I have heard almost only good things about the Yamaha HS-8. In fact I plan to buy them myself since I've found a very good deal. So I guess the problem must be anywhere else ;-) Also keep in mind that you have to adjust your patches every time you change a single element in your rig. I recently changed Headphones from my very old Sennheiser HD280 Pro to the HD380 Pro. Even if they are from the same manufacture and the same line, there is quite a bit defference in sound and I had to adjust my patches.

I've watched some demos of the new Kempber 5.0 Beta: To me there isn't that much of a difference in quality if any. There are so many options in Helix that change the sound of a effect, begining in where the effect is placed. I usally place delays and reverb after the amp, but depends on the signal chain. I'm one of those that use delays and reverbs very subltle to underline the overall and already good sound, except if used as an effect.
-
I've seen it too. Now it's working fine.
-
Yeah I find most of them really bad too. There are some good ones but usally is a waste of time and you're faster dialing in your own patches. I think it has a lot to do with the equipment used. There are too many variables that affect the result. If I dial in a patch that sounds awesome with my equipment (and most that I made do - to me at least ;-) ), they probably will sound terrible to other people because they use different guitars, different speaker and have different ears. There are some patches on customtone I doubt that sound good on any gear though ;-)
-
Good info thanks. I always aimed to -10db
-
I just raise the USB Level when recording, so I don't have to change the patches. After recording I simple put it back to 0.
-
I use the minotaur most of the time. It seems to work best for my strat.

I have asked that question back in June: http://line6.com/support/topic/21079-direct-recording-low-output-volume/

I've installed the speaker but didn't play around that much - only at bedroom level. The overall sound is much more "open". With the stock speaker I felt like there was a cut somewhere in the high mids. I attached my phone to play some music and it sound quite good, very similar to a PA Speaker. The amp standalone sounds better to my ears too. There are a lot more highs though and I had to adjust the patches. The cleans sound very good. I don't like the distortion sound that much, but that was also true with the stock speaker. I have a Metal 2000 patch for distorted sound. I always felt it sounded a bit thin and fizzy. With the new speaker this much more noticable but as I said I didn't play around that much. Maybe it could dialed in to a good sound. The sound with Helix has improved a lot to my ears especially the clean ones. I create my patches mostly with headphones because I mostly play at home with headphones and they translate quite well. Some slight adjustments are needed but other than that I'm pretty happy. I could never reproduce the marshall sound I've created with the headphones. It sounds awesome with the headphone but with speakers I can't get it to work (not only mustang). Maybe because more volume is needed - I only play at bedroom level right now.
-
I really find the Fenders in Helix sounding very good - even better then the mustang ones. I'm using IRs on most patches but even with stock cabs they are great. Peoples ears are very different I guess.
-
Yeah they are, Maybe the Bassman would be a bette choice. After all I think it isn't a big deal to replicate that sound from the video. Of course Josh Smith is ... well Josh Smith ;-)
-
Yeah I've made a bassman patch that sounds quite similar. I think with a little teaking it should be possible to get that desired tone.

I think the US Deluxe Nrm is the way to go since the Fender Deluxe Reverb is a reissue of the Tweed Deluxe.
