  1. Yeah some amps have rather low volume, especially if you dial back the master.
  2. I have pretty much the same Pickups in my second guitar. My main guitar is a Strat with vintage style pickups (lower output). I noticed that with the humbucker guitar works better when the Pad is on. Strat works better with Pad off. Therefore I'd love to have the Pad in the Patch in addition to the global setting. There's already an Idea to vote on Ideascale: http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Guitar-in-Impedance-and-input-pad-per-patch/800290-23508
  3. I have always kept things pretty simple. Many of my patches have only an amp with a cab or IR a overdrive (mostly the minotaur used as a boost), distortion and a reverb. That's it. Maybe a subtle delay if needed. Of course some sounds need some more effects. I've created a patch for Pink Floyd's shine on and this is a dual amp patch with different Amps and IRs and other effects.
  4. I personally find there are already too many Fuzzes in Helix. Why the hell would you add another one?
  5. Stock cabs are great and I use them regularly beside my favorite IRs. But you know that you can do this setting with IRs too? ;-)
  6. I couldn't hear any difference eighter. Are your sure it isnt the Input Impendance that was set to "Auto" autmatically per patch with the new update. This is where I experienced most difference and I went through all my patches to change it to the value I had set globally before.
  7. I don't hear any fuzz but it depends what you're looking for. If you add a distortion pedal and add lots of distortion you'll probably hear some fuzz ;-) But thats the same with regular pedals and amps too. @WickedFinger I find the Minotaur and Teemah! are very good models and those are the two I use the most. What is it you find it needs more quality in them?
  8. On weekends mine is on for 5-6 hours a day. I have read in another forum someone left it on for 3 day without problems, so we should be fine
  9. I had the HD500 (afte owning all PODs from the first bean) since it came out and got really good tone out of it. In December I had the opportunity to get Helix in a local shop. Since I planed to buy it anyway I bought it straight away. I was unsure in the beginning if it was worth the money because I could dial in the HD500 pretty fast and it sounds great. Helix sounds really great. If it sounds 1000$ better you have to decide on your own - it feels way better for sure. But for me it was the versatility that made me keep the Helix. Overall it is really the better modeller and one of the best on the market right now. If it is worth the money every one has to decide on his own and it really depends on your usage.
  10. Thanks! I've already read this in the manual - it's great
  11. Just update to the latest and follow the instruction carefully: http://line6.com/support/topic/18284-latest-helix-firmware-201/
  12. I don't know what you are looking for but if you move the mic away from the cab you have more room. Other than that you could achieve more "Room" with the right reverb settings.

I don't know if it's just me but I find it is less "Jumpy" if you set the imput to the one you're actually using. If set it from "Muti" to "Guitar" - but again could be just me ;-)
  14. Adding new controller lane worked - thanks.
  15. Thanks for the explanation. I've already setup a midi track but I missed the step with the controler lane. I'll try it out when I'm at home
  16. Watch this video, then it should be clear:
  17. Thanks for the reply. I know the CC numbers are, but I couldn't figure out how tell cubase to change automatically when playing to the recording. It's a cubase specific question I guess. I was just wondering if anybody already doing this.
  18. That's whats the plan and it should work fine.
  19. Hi, does anyone know how to setup cubase so that it changes snapshots? I tried to load a song into cubase and then send a midi command to change the snapshot or activate a footswitch but didn't have any success. When I dial the bank and program manually it changes setlist and patches but couldn't figure out how to automate it. Any hint? Thanks
  20. I had this thought too. Maybe in future firmversions they could implement this and store the state with the patch. Then it would automatically change to the mode on which the patch was saved.
  21. My favorite is the 63 Spring. I set it very subtle so that I can rather feel it than hear it ;-).
  22. Well, maybe it's just not that what you are looking for. There are many people who prefer other brands, nothing wrong with that. But I don't understand why would you like it better if it would cost half the price? If you don't like it, you don't like it - no matter if you get it as a present or you pay 1Mio Bucks - right? Just look for other divices. Happily enough there's a big choice out there these days :-)
  23. 3Sigma Friedman is a good one. Also the Hiwatt is good.
  24. Please let us set guitar In Impedance globally in addition to patch setting: http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Guitar-In-Impedance-globally-in-addition-to-patch/831034-23508
  25. I've set it to 230K for most of my strat patches. 1MB with more distorted patches.
