  1. Yeah, but it's one of those things, you know. If I hear it, it is there ;-) - no matter what anyone else says.
  2. I'll stay at 2.10 until the next major update. It is hard to capture on a recording because it's more a feel thing than sound. It seemed to me that latency was increased but we'll see on next big update.
  3. I left Editor in version 2.11 installed - no problems so far.
  4. Start making your own patches from scratch.
  5. So whats the benefit of that?
  6. I can confirm that on Win10. It appears on helix itself but not in the editor.
  7. Yeah, I think if you don't run into any of the bugs that are solved in 2.11 there is little reason to update. I don't find updating is such a big deal if following the instruction. The only real work is the IRs.
  8. Thanks for the hint, but that's definatly not the case. I have done many updates (own the helix excaclty one year today :-) ) and always follow instructions very accuratley. Never had any problem that relates to the update process (beside the IR management of cours ;-) )
  9. The change is not really in the sound, its in how it feels and I guess there is little if any difference when only listen to a recorded track. It seems that there is just a little more latency in 2.11 which is only noticable when playing with headphones, but it reduces the feeling when playing a lot. That is one of the reason I don't like computer based simulation - I'm really picky when it comes to latency when playing.
  10. Thanks - that's was the plan, yes, but now I'm think I'm just staying with 2.10 until the next update and see what happens. I didn't have any problems with 2.10 and since there are no new features, I'm fine with 2.10. I'ts quite a bit work to update with the IRs.
  11. Back to my initially topic: I rolled back to firmware 2.10 today. I know many of you told me it's a placebo but I'm pretty sure my patches feel tighter with firmware 2.10 playing with my headphones. It seems to me almost like there was some tiny bit of increased delay in firmware 2.11 so that playing didn't feel as tight. Call me crazy but I'm staying with 2.10 ;-)
  12. From the two you mentioned I'd choose the Beyerdynamic DT770. You might try out the Sennheiser HD380 Pro too and do a comparision if you have the change.
  13. http://line6.com/software/index.html Select "Helix" as device and scroll down to firmware 2.10
  14. That's the first thing I would normally say but this time to me it is pretty noticable. Maybe I'll do a rollback and comparision between 2.10 and 2.11 on christmas holidays - I'll see.
  15. 1) One of the reason I decided to upgrad from Hd500 was the recording options with reamping ... 2) I agree with duncann here. Althoug it works very well using another interface (I have the Fousrite Scarlett 2i2 2nd generation). 3) Another world in my opinion but I only had Eleven Rack for about 2 weeks or so. I still had the HD500 back then and even prefered the sound of that. Helix is a few step above regarding sound and feel. 4) Can't tell because I never owned a GT-100 but I'm pretty sure Helix wins here too.
  16. I feel a bit reassured now. I thought I'm going slightly mad ;-) I'll play around a bit the next days and see if I can solve this. In worst case I'll go back to 2.10
  17. Thanks, I'll have a look at that. That's certainly possible beacause the conversion process happend twice after updating. Once soon after restarting. Then I imported my bundle. On next start the conversion process started once again. I think I'll reflashing firmware in the coming days.
  18. Global EQ is off. Input Impendance is not in global settings anymore if I'm right. Didn't mess around on it at patch level. Thanks
  19. I almost play exclusivly with headphones. The record is a good Idea. I'll have to go back to 2.10 first though. I'll do that next week, when I have more time, if I still feel it sounds different. I'm introducing Helix to a friend tommorrow, so don't wann mess around to much with my patches today. Thanks
  20. Thanks for the reply silverhead. It seems to be on all patches, not only those with IRs. Could be a placebo but I didn't explicit search for it just seems that something is different. I'm waiting for tommorrow if things change - some days I just hear things differently ;-)
  21. Hi, I was wondering if anyone noticed a change of the sound when updating from 2.10 to 2.11. I'm playing through headphones and I'm hearing a noticable increase of highs after the update (which I wouldn' like at all). Also some loss of dynamics. I did't change anything an globals set to the values I had before (alwas make some notes before updating). Global EQ is off. I'm not sure if it's just me or has there been some changes that affect the sound? Thanks
  22. I think so too, because there is nothing to address ;-) What I found with Variax guitar connected with VDI is that is hard to tune when modelling is on. I always turn it off for tuning and use magnetics instead. Otherwise the tuner works fine for me.

    Helix vs Pod

I find these X vs Y useless anyway. No one can tell unless you try and judge yourself. Everybody has other expectations other way how to use the gear...
