  1. zooey DualCabs Only RectoMIII.wav posted with the amp and EQ off, cabs only. Somewhat surprisingly, there wasn't much difference in the Amp + Cab and Cab only IR's. It might actually be a little easier to work with the cab only IR in Helix, but both are pretty flexible.
  2. Alrighty, try these out https://www.dropbox.com/sh/009bkqzooza1aop/AADMuVW6DcV9JCdYLppxnIt8a/IR/V2/Orange%20PPC212OB?dl=0 3 main types: cab only, Mesa Dual Rec power amp + cab (MDR prefix), Orange Rocketverb 50 power amp + cab (ORV prefix) Mics: Dynamic 57 (D), Condenser 87 ('C), Ribbon 121 ('R) Main Mic (D or R) distances from center cone: 0-2 inches Example: ORV Orange PPC212OB 1iDC.wav is Orange power amp into PPC212OB cab with Dynamic 57 mic 2" off cone on 1/2 and Condenser 87 mic on other 1/2. I'm sure you know, but the PPC212OB is an open back cab. Also a reminder to use the Helix IR block Low Cut and High Cut to adjust for any boominess or harshness/sizzle, and experiment with the IR Level and the amp volumes. The cab only IR's are pretty predictable, but the power amp + cab IR's need some taming sometimes.
  3. This is what I use too. Great tool. Was about to post the link myself ;)
  4. Cool. Not tryin to cause problems ;) Amplitube has some certified Orange gear and I havent made any for myself yet. I could whip out a few cab only ones and some amp influenced ones for you to try (not hundreds in every configuration of course ;). What amp do you use with your cab?
  5. That Helix/amplitube routing should work. Personally I use 5/6 Helix-AT and 3/4 AT-Helix, but it shouldn't matter. I'm assuming you setup the AT settings to use the Helix ASIO driver with the IO configuration you listed?
  6. Yeah, I thought we got pretty close (at least the tonally), but certainly not exact, especially considering feel. The amp model itself seems to drive that. The AT Mesa amps have their own mojo. I can get a bit of the essence and frequency response (limitations of an IR) but certainly not a full copy of AT to Helix. I think you will find at the very least, Helix is a great interface and controller for AT. As I really don't want to take a pc out live (yet), then best of both worlds to me at the moment is using Helix amps and stomps into AT cabs, tweak the AT cabs, speakers, mics, positions, etc. Then IR the AT cab. Then running the same Helix amp into the resulting AT cab IR is VERY close to the Helix amp onto the AT cab. Of course you don't get the reverb of the room mics, so I usually turn down the room mics when going for the closest match. So while trying to perfectly match the sound and feel of AT in Helix is difficult (and a recipe for insanity), hybrid Helix amps and AT cab IR'S give me some of both in a single package. One thing I might do for you that you might enjoy is IR just your AT cabs. You have a very cool dual cab multi mic setup in that preset. Getting that response into a single IR may be useful and enjoyable for you to use with Helix amps.
  7. Man, sorry if those were the ones I made. I don't have a physical dual rec. Only hardware and software modelers.
  8. Ha, that's an even longer darker path ;)
  9. No doubt. I think 90% or my time has been testing and tweaking and maybe 10% playing a song. My wife even chimed in this week "can't you just play a whole song...you're driving me nuts!"
  10. zooey EQMesaMIII DualCabs.wav uploaded to dropbox. Only a slightly different sound in the IR in Helix. Not quite the dramatic difference that turning on the EQ pedal before the amp makes in AT4. Still, now you have two IR's to try out. Sometimes you will lose IR settings switching out IR's if you're not careful. I posted a pic of the IR, EQ, and amp settings on Dropbox.
  11. USB send/return blocks would be slick. I've only seen those available in the in/out blocks (circles). You might try splits and merges to give yourself more in/out blocks, as you may be able to get 2-3 usb "effect loops" that way.
  12. Haven't tried your steps into a USB 3.0 port myself, but I run Helix into one of my USB 2.0 ports since it's 2.0 itself and have had no issues into Pro Tools, Sonar, FL Studio, or Amplitube 4. All audio applications report correct Helix options per the Helix ASIO panel in their respective settings screens. I am on Windows 10 64 bit Pro on an Alienware X51R2. The USB 2.0 vs 3.0 port was a lesson learned from my Eleven Rack.
  13. Yeah, sorry. Missed the part about the always on EQ when I first read it. However, it may still be closer to your AT preset for you to put a similar eq in front of the Helix amp block. Making an IR with the eq on in front in AT might behave closer to putting an eq between the Helix amp block and IR cab. No big deal to rip it into another IR for you to try. The AT amp no cab was just for me to test the AT Mesa Mark III (no AT cabs) into the Helix IR (no Helix amp block). Just something I do for myself to see if I am getting what I expect.
  14. Helix will switch my Randall RM100 via MIDI just fine.
  15. Yeah, agreed. No mic to stage. I use my mag & piezo in the same manner.
  16. OK zooey, I think I am really close to the AT4 Mark III amps with dual cabs you had in your preset, minus some guitar specific tweaking you will likely need to do. I used my Les Paul to test. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/009bkqzooza1aop/AABUQHfMGU1C41V_vYMtcnhKa/IR/!IR%20Requests/zooey?dl=0 Files posted Cleanish but fat 6.at4p - your original preset with (lots of) effects Cleanish but fat 6 Amp Cab.at4p - your preset with only the Mark III amp and the two Mesa cabs on for baseline Cleanish but fat 6 Amp Cab No Cab.at4p - for testing the IR with your AT4 Mesa MIII zooey amp IR HX.hlx - Helix preset with US Double Nrm amp, 10 band eq, and IR (in Helix Impulse IR slot 82) zooey MesaMIII DualCabs_82.wav - AT4 Mark III amp + 2cabs IR That should give you a good Helix amp & cab base sound to build on. I'll leave it to you to select and configure your 12 effects pedals like you had them in AT4. you may want to add some Helix reverb after the IR to simulate the AT4 cab room reverb effect. I also thought the Helix Mail Order Twin with the new IR model was close to your preset too. It had a little more lo-fi sound if you think the US Double Nrm is too present and punchy. Maybe Line 6 will make a Mesa Mark III (or 2C+) model soon. It's requested pretty frequently I think. That 5-band Mesa Mark series EQ is at different frequencies than the Helix 10 band. I had to do a bit of visual and audio interpolation to get close.
  17. Posted some 1/2 ribbon 121 and 1/2 condenser 87 IR's for each speaker type by request.
  18. Cool. Will check it out later today or this weekend. Others without Amplitube probably don't understand that there is something unique going on in AT, especially the Mesa pack that is difficult to easily match in Helix. Not saying one is better than the other, but those of us that have a pre-Helix, AT-tuned ear find ourselves missing it.
  19. Thanks for the update.
  20. Revised the naming convention a bit to represent mics and mic position.
  21. Also added two more sets "57R" with the condenser 87 replaced with a ribbon 121 mic. SM57 is still off center. "2i57R" with the SM57 2" off center (to darken them up a bit more), still mixed with ribbon 121 mic.
  22. From some good feedback for some more thickness in the mids and highs, I have moved the SM57 off the center cone an inch or so. IR's with an OC suffix attached and on Dropbox.
  23. That's a good idea too. I forgot I had a K&K golden bullet mic that came with the K&K piezo and preamp set. NEVER had good luck with that not feeding back on stage, so threw it in the box of misfit toys and forgot about it. The 3M dual lock is still inside my F hole...no jokes ;) So theoretically I could connect 4 signals to Helix Schaller magnetic (punchy) K&K Bass Max piezo (thumpy boomy) BB transducer bridge (singing and snappy) K&K mic (sweet and airy) Have to run a snake to my DB ;) JK, I could do it with two stereo cables. But man, if feedback started on stage I would be scrambling. I would probably set up a block that I could use as a kill switch on each piezo and mic signal path, like a volume all the way down, until I was comfortable with the mix live. No issue with the magnetic, it's always my safety net. Foot edit mode would be our friend for levels and eq on each path. Will have to take care assigning levels and probably EQ to the footswitches so that they are accessible in foot edit mode.
  24. No, but there are some acoustic IR's posted. I believe they are from a Fishman Aura pedal. They sound pretty good for now. Adjustment is limited to the controls in the Helix IR block, but you could add EQ and effects to those. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/f2qdh9jtcl6s5cv/AACRlEt-UVeLAhuvV4YwMY7Wa?dl=0
