What Is Better?jtv Or The Old Variax 700?

For all of the above, exept the tone (for realism) , the best choice is the old 700... The soul is better on 700 too... -

Great Comparison V1.9 Vs 2.0
arislaf replied to vjclaus's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
hurghanico, about the 700...Comparing the jtv with the 700 is 2 different worlds.Sure the electronics of the 700 were not supperior of the jtv, but there was not any lag at all...And the feel of the guitar (700) was much more better that the jtv.Although the sound of the jtv captures the correct tones of the modeled guitars, the 700 captured the soul of the guitars..You know it is not a stratocaster, but is the soul of the strat, and in some tonalities better and worse than the strat...700 had it's own character... And the acoustics (for me) were much more better than the jtv's...And the feel of the 700.. O my god...so nice...I spent countless hours with it...As for the pick ups that not exist, for me it was better, it gave a unique character to the guitar.. For the point: JTV 2.0 is more realistic sounded than the 1.9, but after downgrading to 1.9 and comparing, i found that the 1.9 is better than the 2.0.. At least (for me) I have more sounds to use. -
Latency By Switching 'pickups'

Well, comparing the jtv with the old variax...The old was much more better in many aspects except the tone of some guitars.. -

Variax 700 Acoustic Problem / Buzz
arislaf replied to arislaf's topic in Variax Guitars / Bass / Workbench
I notice that the nut was misplaced...After I stick it up with some silicon glue, the buzz reduced very much but not at all..I adjust the neck as you suggest with no result.. I really don't know... :( -

Variax 700 Acoustic Problem / Buzz
arislaf replied to arislaf's topic in Variax Guitars / Bass / Workbench
I will try it out asap.Thank you! -
I have the equipment that you discribe above (flextone 3 + HD500) And is an awesome combination! Now about: 1. Best Seting is to use full model of the HD, with the 4cm, and connect the flextone to your computer (via midi) use the line 6 edit on flextone and set it to tuner. That way you will use the speakers of the amp as speakers without any simulation of power amp, same like a FRFR, 2. Not any downsides. 3. It is awesome aproach, worthy, and onether thing you can do is to use the 4cm, pre or full model on the HD, and a model on your flextone! You can discover some great new tones you never imagine! P.s. Try the full amp plexi 45 from your pod with the ac15 of you flextone. You will remember me ;)

Variax 700 Acoustic Problem / Buzz
arislaf replied to arislaf's topic in Variax Guitars / Bass / Workbench
On all strings. Also, when i changed to graph tech, i already reduce the string volume through the workbench. -
Hallo everybody, I hope for some help here... I have a variax 700 blue trem, with the latest firmware, graphtech piezos, and elixir 10's strings. Suddenly (after instaling the new strings) I notice that the acoustic models have a strange buzz, like a fret buzz.... am not sure what is going, and at the electric models doesn't appear this buzz.. Please help!
