Let's see what happens with firmware / software vers. 2.30. Guess some harmonization / unification will come (DI held out in prospect)...

Fishman TriplePlay 1.4 Not Finding Helix Native
klangmaler replied to amor4jc-2's topic in Helix Native
Well, I see... Anyway, check out wich version of the app you use: Should be 64bit! (Fishman, Native and / or DAW host) https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/when-i-launch-my-fishman-tripleplay-software-it-only-scans-my-32-bit-plug-ins-how-do-i-make-it-see-the-64-bit-plug-ins/ http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/recording/helix-native/helix-native-faq-r866 -
Fishman TriplePlay 1.4 Not Finding Helix Native
klangmaler replied to amor4jc-2's topic in Helix Native
I'm curious: Where did you find that? -
I had to update each and every firmware - but now Variax and HELIX sound absolutely fine. The JTV here sounds much better through Helix (even if the communication with DT amps is not provided (as with PODs...) ). I guess you have to adjust your modeled guitar sounds (string volumes) and improve your Helix patches (tones)...
-
Yep. Works fine. Sometimes for bass, too ;)

Fishman TriplePlay 1.4 Not Finding Helix Native
klangmaler replied to amor4jc-2's topic in Helix Native
Just for clarification (and to armchair quarterback ;))... Fishman triple play is a midi pickup (and converter software) mainly and needs sound generators or (soft)synths. Helix Native is a modeling software for 'regular' pickups (or Variaxes, NOT midi guitars) and works as an audio plugin - not as a virtual instrument (VSTi's)... Anyway, check your host software / DAW. Helix should be listed under VST audio effects. -
Communications between Line6 and helix native plugin
klangmaler replied to joeloduca's topic in Helix Native
Right. Helix Native needs needs an active network adapter - but you can block network traffic... -
I guess you have to update Line 6 Driver2, Helix firmware 2.21, Helix editor 2.21, too...
-
(...and If you deactivate that PCI interface, for example, then Helix quits  ) As I mentioned above, Helix Native needs a (specific) active network adapter. Obviously, the computer activation is dependent / related to that adapter. That's why I marked this thread as solved: We have an 'adapter dependency' ;)
-
Sorry, I have to be precisely. If I unplug the cable (WLan-Stick), adapter is deactivated => Helix Native quits...
-
Excuse and information: This is for the paid, fully licensed and activated version of Helix Native: After checking out each and every alternative here, I have to declare that Helix Native needs no (permanent) connection (to the internet) BUT it needs an active network adapter (LAN module, card, WLAN-stick, [...] If that deactivated, Helix Native won't work. Obviously, the computer activation is dependent / related to an adapter (or card [...]). Sorry if I caused any inconvenience.

...it's a little speaker icon you have to activate... https://www.steinberg.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=121497

Trial period for the full license?? [...] Helix Native needs internet...
-
Same here. Needs internet connection, though.
-
For the moment, Helix Native works 'only' as a VST-plugin for sequencer software / DAWs (like Reaper, Cubase, ProTools)... In other words: You need a host software to run Native.
-
No. The sentence is too long. It should be: 'Internet connection required' (full stop).
-
I bought & authorized Helix Native. Seems not important to be signed in. Native needs internet.
-
Right. THIS IS NOT THE EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR. I don't talk about signing in / off (or computer authorizing). Native needs an (active) internet connection. See what happens if you physically disconnect it (or disable network adapters)...
-
Maybe because you use a different network adapter / interface? And how do you disconnect?! Computer here is connected via WLAN-Stick - really disconnected when it's unplugged.
-
Signin or authorizing is not the problem (here)... I don't have to sign in again. Online = Native works. But Helix Native needs that active internet connection, without it (computer offline) it doesn't work (connection failed). Guess that's kind of an 'internet dongle' (copy protection).
-
Yyeppp. Would surely be ok if we had to sign in again after an update, for example. But I will not stay online with my DAW all the time just for Helix Native.
-
When my computer is offline (WLAN stick disconnected), Native complains ( ' not initialized '). But: Helix Native Plugin is authorized. Computer is authorized. I can replicate this : Computer online: Everything's fine ('You have a valid Helix Native license that does not expire') Computer offline: Message in orange letters ' Failed to connect to DSP engine (Unknown communication error ' Native FAQs http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/recording/helix-native/helix-native-faq-r866: Seems, as if Helix Native really has to be connected constantly to the internet (copy protection).
-
Did it. Same result. When Computer is offline (WLAN Stick disconnected), it behaves like ' not initialized '. As soon as the internet connection is established, it all works fine.
