  1. Haven't stopped. It's stuck in transit. Heard about all those cargo ships off the coast of Long Beach and the Bay area?
  2. Yes, cbrillow, I remember it was for the old Variax originally, very good. Yes, it can be adjusted for JTV/Standard/Shuriken series guitar supply rail. Was hoping you'd chime in to point that out. Very good. Yes, XPS was designed to work with all the Variax guitars. From guitar-to-XPS, use a tip/ring/sleeve plug guitar cable. From XPS-to-amp, a regular guitar cable will do.
  3. +/- 2mV, so 31mV and 32mV need to be adjusted to be within the +/- 2mV range.
  4. Not very useful for JTV, Standard or Shuriken guitars. More useful for original Variax using alkaline batteries, and that circuitry.
  5. Try it again. Looks like a MIDI time out. Flash it again.
  6. For the MkI, it is a fatal error. No solution as there are no more main boards. And MkII boards are NOT a compatible replacement, totally different programming. It is not a self repair as one of the chis affected has the program on it.
  7. There's a short in there, take it to an authorized service center in area. It's not a self repair thing.
  8. "Why? What happens? Is that the same with alcohol? "--- Yes. Can leave residue on the finish that is hard to get off.
  9. JTV-69? What is the Firmware version of the Helix? Are yu connected using the VDI Variax cable? It sounds like there is a short somewhere while in Model mode. If it's a JTV-69, have you broken any strings lately?
  10. Going that route, an XT Live may be too old, an X3 Live would be more compatible. I still use an X3 Live on m repair bench to connect to old and new Variax.
  11. MIDI time out. Maybe need to use a Variax interface device kit instead of a Helix, as the 700 Acoustic is a pre JTV and HD product from 15 years ago. Maybe some quirks relating to Helix and 700 Acoustic compatibility. What Firmware version is your Helix?
  12. Register the unit in your account, then log a Support ticket in account.
  13. Very good. Sounds like microphonics, so yes, tubes and bias at an authorized service center.
  14. Were the power tubes biased by a L6 authorized service tech?
  15. Register you unit in your account, then log a Support ticket. I don't see Ace of Aces on our list of authorized service centers. https://line6.com/find/service_center/ There are two authorized service centers in the Detroit area, Allen Park and Madison Heights.
  16. Did you swap the piezo connection on the 5th and 6th string piezos? That messes with the filters. Have the set-up check and dialed in. Fret th highest fret, Lo-E side pick-up to string distance should be 3mm, on the Hi-E side, should be 2mm. Dual tone effect, hearing the strings from the guitar in standard tuning and Alt Tune thru the amp at the same time can sound bad. You're hearing both at the same time. turn up amp or use headphones to minimize the effect. If doing any custom patches using Workbench HD, the pitches have to be spot on. Custom stuff like that, best to check Stevic McKay's You Tube videos on the subject.
  17. Warbling is is a set-up issue, the pick-up heights have to be set correctly or the magnet pull on the string and the piezos will amplify the warbling. If the tuning and intonation is not spot on, then Alt Tune will make the warbling sound worse. Being the guy at L6 who services these guitars, I see this sort of thing. Set-up has to be dialed-in to as fine as a gnat's behind. And in Alt Tune, there's dual tone effect. So headphone or turning up amp volume minimizes that. Been servicing these 10+ years now, so I guess I'm used to it.
  18. If you are in Alt Tune like a Drop D, being a whole down and dissonant interval, then it's not warbling, it's "dual tone effect". You are hearing the standard tuning from the strings while hearing the Alt Tuning from the amp. Using headphones or turning up the amp will minimize this.
  19. Line 6 authorized service center, and have them order and install the pick guard. That way, you will know if fits, is the right one, and is installed correctly. They come in several other colors as well.
  20. What is the tube number and brand??? Are they a matched set???
