the older XPS-AB boxes that I see don't look like they'd power the newer James Tyler axes like my 59 or 69 ...is there an adaptor for them from xlr to CAT? - I was thinkin.. I have a spare workbench interface to get rid of & would @ times use this older supply...when I don't wanna haul hd500 If so - good excuse to spend more $...hell - I'd love one of the older acoustics too

Mag Vs. Model Volume
diggerbarnz replied to msttomservo's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
well...I've had my share of issues (mostly self-induced mind you) so many toys, anyhow I rolled back to 1.9 today on BOTH my variaxes - I had the "all models balanced" in them as well as strat fix + I'd cut all the models by 5db - except acoustics I believe - I used to have popping issues w/a lot of models As I'm about to be forming a 3 pc soon I've been experimenting running thru an amp which is unfamiliar to me(been running thru Bose L1 for eons - I never really took note of mags volume, & even now because of amp I'll probably continue to NOT use them as the amp makes mags sound "cone-like", but the rollback & 2nd posters suggestion have made a huge difference in volume. While I'm here - I had heard that Yamaha had bought out Line 6 recently (or someone else did) Can anybody confirm this & what happens to "support" for a flagship guitar that they're supposedly not going to support anymore?- 17 replies

Thanks 4 the reply - yes - that definitely worked I was worried fer nuthin Actually, in my frustration & going straight into front of ampI learned something . . .w/the modeled sound of the physical amp on acoustic( really makes the acoustics on variax stand out!)- ALSO, when running strictly 1/4 out of guitar, I can't control tremolo speed programmed to tone on Variax - I'd imagine that's the way it is I think I prefer tweakin the amp, believe it OR not lol - then I have the extra channel for boost & don't have to program tremelo settings for a WHACK of patches. Dunno why I've been going thru PA all this time (extra weight I suppose) Either way, thanks again for your fast & correct response

I have a fender fm212 dsp & I'm running thru my voicelive 3 to the guitar in on the pod - then fender says to do the following:EFFECTS LOOP: Connect PRE OUT to the effects input and PWR IN to the effects output. Now...no matter which jacks I use on the pod fx send & return, I get Nothing ( I tried reversing outta curiosity - just a buzz) So where am I going wrong...from what I've read here previously, It doesn't matter how you have things set up(studio in/stack combo etc) I also tried the "line-stomp" slider switch - @ a loss here, I need to NOT use the guitar in on front panel of fender amp as I want to bypass all it's bells n whistles...I have enough! Hope someone can help

Globally? I thought you had to go thru each model & PUP 1X1? I was tryin to remedy my clipping noise & reduced one model from 100% to 25%...& it did nothing...besides make everything quieter - popquackfart still there -

Not gonna get away w/this w/out sounding dumb...here I go monitoring w/bose L1 system - fw? physically, the master knob on pod is around 65% - I believe most patches are doing it & as I mentioned, ONLY in alt tuning -

Well... I THOUGHT I had things good....other models are poppin now - I did notice however that they only seem to do it in alternate tunings, which is unfortunate as I have my sets divided into 1/2 steps & full steps to save throat This is truly disheartening. . .maybe I didn't have things LOUD enough - elec models are popping too BUT.. I did notice that it only seems to happen w/alternate tunings - standard is fine & out of my 2 JTV's..only the 69 is behaving poorly. I pray that there's a "firmware fix" for this OR Line 6 should step up & correct the bridge if need be for warranty holders. I'm gonna keep talkin here till Saturday - then my gig will be over & nuthin else happening - but I really want to remedy & understand this! When POD is not used as in. . working from workbench - popping is NOT an issue, so why that clarity doesn't translate straight to pod is where the problem lies When I attempted to adjust popping A & G strings volume..I lowered them 20 points or so & things were worse. -

Thought I had Edstar....still slight pop on "A" but I have doubled my volume/clarity etc...I may be going about things the wrong way(mixer panned @ 0 instead of full left & right) but I'm truly happy w/results -
Are they a "per-preset" parameter? I thought they were global...
