very nice! What fx are you using on the DAW track?
-
Ok. Please share. Im down to learn something new. what am I missing?

I think we are having two different conversations. Isn't this an amp in front of the mixer with two paths? http://www.dueymoore.com/amp-settings.jpg

Are you using an AES/EBU cable? also make sure that the cable is well seated in the pod and the DT. -
POD HD + DT Series vs Stagesource Series?
Tboneous replied to gioal's topic in Dream Rig - Line 6 Product Integration
Maybe that is my issue. I have an L2M. I just tried to use it instead of my DT and it sounds HORRIBLE to my ears. The full models sound fake to me through the L2M but the Pre models sound great going through the DT. Oh well. The acoustics sound good through the L and that's why I got it in the first place. -
POD HD + DT Series vs Stagesource Series?
Tboneous replied to gioal's topic in Dream Rig - Line 6 Product Integration
Really? I'm gonna try it again but I have always been completely uninspired by the L series for electric guitar work. To me the L series doesn't interact with the pickups like the DT does. What about it felt like a tube amp so I can focus my feelers when I fire it up in a few minutes? -
That makes sense. How hard would it be for someone from Line 6 to break that down for its customers? "The models were created this way using this setup with these guitars in this monitoring environment." In any event, I don't think that it's unreasonable to expect when I plug in my JTV69 via VDI into my HD500 and into my DT50, DT25 and L2m via L6 link, that I am going to be in the tonal ballpark. I mean I should be somewhat WOW'ed right out of the box. It is called "The Dream Rig" right? My Dream Girl, my Dream Car and my Dream house doesn't need a whole lot of tweaking! :P I can get to WOW but, at times, it takes a lot of tweaking to remove the muffle or tame the ear piercing, highly compressed, high frequency stuff. I can get there. I think I've got the formula. It took a while, but I've learned the idiosyncrasies of this junk enough to be able to quickly pull up a workable tone. In 2012, the good folks of Line 6 in a youtube video entitled "Dream Rig Tip #1: Layering Wet and Dry Tones" asserted that "This is the first in what will undoubtedly become a series of tips and trick videos on the Dream Rig; How to use it, what it does and some of the neat stuff you can do when you connect a JTV a Pod HD500 and either a DT25 or a DT50 amp." They made it to "Dream Rig Tip #2" That is not a series....that's not even a few...that's just a couple. I'm certain that the rest of the series is scheduled for eminent release and in this series, they will explain the methodology of modeling and how to get the most bang out of our Dream Rig money! And furthermore, I feel......wait....what?......there is a rumor that Line 6 is discontinuing the DT series amps? Well, that's just a rumor, right?

Even though there are 2 paths, the amp can still be in front of the mixer.
-
Why amp after mixer? I've seen that and don't understand the difference.

This is a thread about sharing, not judging! Your playing is fine. You've got good touch. The tone is good. I noticed you mentioned a tube comp, blue comp and a screamer. Where in the chain are you placing your comps?
-
Hmmm. I'm sure the board mix is better. The camera microphone is not doing your tone any justice at all! The recording robbed you of any body to the tone. Any chance you have the board mix ?

Original. At this point it is a song idea. Haven't finished it yet which is why it's called Finish-2. Actually the full name of the song is "Finish What You Started A$$ Wipe!" It's a personal issue that I have. I like the tones and I wanted a track that really used the Variax. Now on to the meat of this post....THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!!!! Very Cool! Excellent! Excellent Excellent contribution my man! No offense to the Ka-Chugga Djent Djent crowd, but it is refreshing to hear something other than that for a change. Do you do that live? Do I detect a whammy pedal or is that strictly whammy bar? Good Job! Let's keep 'em coming people!

Me too. I tried to start a similar thead about a year ago and it went nowhere. It's funny, the "Line 6 sucks and I'm leaving" threads where people call each other "A-holes" seem to go on forever but a thread that asks for creative participation, a sharing of tone, strategy and musical process has a hard time getting traction. That to me is very unfortunate. Thanx for the kind words! Keep the tones coming!

I just listened to this clip through my Beats headphones! WOW! That is some serious Ka-CHUNK! I think you found the "brown note" :o ! I felt that in my bowls! Nice going!!!!! Thanx!

POD HD + DT Series vs Stagesource Series?
Tboneous replied to gioal's topic in Dream Rig - Line 6 Product Integration
If you can only get one of them then Palico is right. Guitar is supposed to be played through a guitar amp. I know a lot of people swear by their Stage Source. I just haven't been able to get electric guitar to sound convincing through them. I strictly use my L series for acoustic stuff. -
I love this topic! It's great to hear what people can do with this stuff. And as much as I love this topic, I always end up feeling a bit hesitant to share because the vast majority of tones people share are Hi Gain 7 & 8 string "ka-chugga" stuff. And I have a hard enough time with 6 strings! And I don't do much Ka-Chugga. But if we are speaking only of our favorite tones created with the Pod, I got a couple that I like. I took out vocals and tried to boost the guitar parts so they are more prominent. That process screws up the tone but I think you'll get the idea. Both songs are done with a JTV-69 All of the acoustic and sitar stuff is JTV as well. Song 1 Song 2

POD HD + DT Series vs Stagesource Series?

Get both. They each do great things that the other one can't -
WTF is right! Take me with you!

Oh…running away now? All of a sudden you are at a loss for words? I see…..Butcher…..I challenge you to a Cross Roads style duel! We'll meet in a Baptist style church somewhere in the southern United States. I get to be Ralph Machio (not because he ultimately wins but because he plays a Tele and I don't have one yet) You can be Steve Vai (or as he is known in the movie Jack Butler) That seems to be the most appropriate way for bitter rivals to solve a dispute on a forum about guitar stuff! Wait…you mean to say that we are NOT bitter rivals? Just 2 dudes, strangers to each other, chopping it up online? Can we still do the duel? I love Savannah Georgia in the spring! :P

Whoa! Wait a second....your first post came out of nowhere and none of it involved you my friend! And I do believe upon your entre into this discussion after 10 or so posts, you so eloquently referred to folks a a bunch of a$$holes then later claim that "manners don't cost anything" No, i don't see any greater irony here. What I see is a tad bit of hypocrisy. Aside from you calling people A-holes while claiming they have no manners, what you are further saying is that it is acceptable for you to jump in unrelated and out of nowhere and call people a$$holes but it is not ok for me to jump in, unrelated and out of nowhere and ask you a question? C'mon Butch. Slow yer roll.

Yes you are spear heading and all of those kinds of things. And even if he IS talking about you directly….So what? You know how much you provide vs. what you take. According to you, you " have put in your fair share, and helped more than you've been helped. AND, you will do it as concisely as possible, (too late :P ) rather than meander on with un-necessarily long winded……yada yada yada." (does anyone else see the irony here? or is it just me?) So clearly what pianoguyy is saying doesn't apply to you. Right? So whats up with the opprobrium? Thin skinned maybe? Nawww! The Butcher is anything but thin skinned!!!! :P (Wait till you see the movie!) What I'm longwindedly attempting to convey is……If what some stranger on a Line 6 forum says doesn't apply to you….move on.
-
What do assumptions cost? There are some folks that participated in this threads discussion that did some name calling and there are many more in this community that fit the greater description of "Takers vs. Providers" Yet, you assume he is talking about you. Why? If the shoe doesn't fit, why are you trying to shove your foot into it? BTW, I just watched Gangs of New York today and I thought of you! The Butcher! Have you seen that movie? It is awesome!

POD HD & DT - channel B?
Tboneous replied to lukazhalfar's topic in Dream Rig - Line 6 Product Integration
One block= One Fx. You can have all of your blocks be a tube screamer if you want and assign them all to one Foot switch. Which ones will turn on and off depend on th order you place them in the chain.
