  2. Here is a slightly different question on the topic of PC+ and mode switching. I have 2 PC+. I want independent control over the speakers. Example I want one to be the internal speaker and one to be FRFR or *One to be FRFR and one to be LF Raw or *One to be LF Flat and one to be LF Raw You get the picture. It appears that you can select speaker 1 or speaker 2 or speaker 1+2 linked together. this function doesn't seem to do anything via L6 link. If I try to set one speaker to do one thing, it applies to both speakers regardless if the speaker 1+2 link is engaged or not. Thanks for the help T
  3. Here's what I would like to do.... I want the top line to be an amp model and cabi/ir going my power cab I want the bottom line to be an external amp. I want to be able to blend or isolate them. When I am playing through the model, I don't want to hear my amp and vise versa How do I do that? Thanks in advance! T
  4. I have 2 PC+ and a Variax. At times I want one speaker to be flat for acoustic guitar and the other speaker to model for the mags in the Variax. Running direct out of Helix into the PC’s won’t allow for changing the the PC settings from Helix. with that out of the way, which is the better way to connect to the PC’s so I can store speaker parameters in the individual Helix preset…. Line 6 link or midi?

    The whole point of the Analogman King of tone is that it is 2 pedals in one. Why include this Helix version if the only way to replicate this is by NOT using the model and instead using 2 Different models in 2 FX blocks? Doesn’t make sense.

    Output Question

    Hello All, I have a Helix Floor and 2 PC+. In Helix edit, I would like to have one amp model on the top stereo path and one amp model on the second stereo path. I want the top amp model to come out of my left PC+ and the bottom amp model to come out of the right PC+. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to do this? I am using L6 link. any help is much appreciated T

The following product packs are available for purchase from Helix Marketplace: * 65140 WTH? What license? I purchase, I import, I rock out! License? We don't need no stinking license!......or do I? hmmmm

  10. Hello Brethren! I wanted to share a short tale about my Memorial Day Jam Session. Grab a beverage!..... I got invited to a very fun jam session this past weekend with dear friends/former band mates/current old farts! We ate, we jammed. We drank, we jammed and we ate some more. It was a beautiful day! One of my great friends is the creator and former owner of a very coveted and highly revered guitar amplification company. The biggest names and best players in the industry uses this guys amps. They cost many thousands of dollars new and many thousands on the used market! He is quite proud of his accomplishment as he should be and will let you know why his amps are the bees knees and why your amp is...meh if you dare to ask. I have one of his amps and they truly are every bit of bad azz! But if you know me, you know that I live to challenge preconceived ideas of superiority. I love showing up with a Squire Strat and blowing away the dude with the Tom Anderson or the Suhr. I love showing up to coffee in my slow azz but pristine 1973 Opel GT and parking next to the dude who has the bomb AMG Mercedes and watching people circle around my Opel while all but ignoring his Benz. My wife says I have issues....She's right, I do but that kind of thing makes me smile! So I show up to this jam session and my man has one of his custom made $$$$ head and cab combos in a beautiful matching turquoise leather! It sounds amazing! He has a pedal board with nothing but the best. I cant remember all that he had on it. but it, as well, sounded amazing! So here I come.... I walk in with my Line 6 Power Cab+ and pedal board that has a Helix Stomp, an Eventide H9 Max and Boss Blues driver. My Squire has been signed by Buddy Guy so I have retired from playing that one. So instead I showed up with a sea foam green heavy relic Fender custom shop '54. It's a sweet axe and it definitely impresses those who are impressed with that sort of thing. I can see that my amp is getting the side eye as I plug it up. The level of comfort that my man exuded knowing that his amp (as always) was the top dog in the room was palpable. He rested easy on the basis of amp dominance and was going to have a good time being louder with a tone that was fuller, more dynamic, more lights, more knobs...The Top Dog! I didn't use any of my pre made presets. Instead, I pulled up a blank preset and got to work. My man was already set up, so I could hear what he had going on (Again, It sounded amazing!) and that allowed me to pull up a tone that was a compliment to his. I went with the Litigator and threw on Kinky boost (bright), Alpaca Rouge Fuzz, Harmonic tremolo, Transistor tape delay, Double tank reverb. My helix has a global high/low cut and i used the cream speaker model on the Power cab. I dialed up an envelop filter on the H9 which is in the FX loop of the helix. So three gain stages, Clean boost, Blues driver and Fuzz of the alpaca. The Kinky and the Blues driver play extremely well together! What happened? I was just as loud, just as full, just as dynamic, and I sat really comfortably in the mix. My lead tones sat on top of the mix without being too loud. I could roll off the tone on the '54 and get that Clapton woman tone out of the boost and the Blues Driver. I quickly assigned my delay mix to the expression pedal for swells and lead work. It sounded really good. It didn't sound like his amp. It sounded like MY amp and they sounded good together. A few tunes in and everyone in the room (other than my man of course) is circling around the Opel (Line 6 Power cab and baby pedal board) Parked next to the Benz ($$$$ Turquoise Leather Monster amp) They could not believe the tone that was coming out of that little speaker from Line 6! As you know to the boutique amp set, Line 6 is not worthy. Its for bedroom rockers to work out their pentatonic scales. You don't bring that crap to a serious "session"! Well not only did I bring a Line 6 set up to a "Session" but i left the boutique amp my man made for me at home in favor of bringing this assortment of line 6 mess! The results are undeniable....My little set up kick azz! I share this not to make fun of my friend, he is a good dude and I value his friendship which is why I wont mention his name or the name of his company. (trust me, You all know this company) He has had tremendous success with his company and it is well deserved. But like my wife said....I've got issues. I can't help but poke, not at him per se, but at the preconceived sense of superiority of one thing and the preconceived inferiority of the other thing. I have always championed the "Under dog" and I always will even when the "Under dog" in this case has changed expectations by breaking barriers and delivering quality product at a really good price. As an aside.....For my fellow Line 6'ers, I read the comments of a lot of people who complain that the tone they are getting sounds "thin" or "Muddy" or it takes too much "tweaking" to get a good tone. I've been there! But taking a blank patch and pulling up an amp and treating it like an amp and not as a modeler really helps. If you do that, it takes no more tweaking than you would do with a traditional amp. When you are playing at home, low end sounds glorious. When you take that to a live application, it can sound muddy or boomy. Guitar amps should not occupy frequencies that the Bass player calls home. Nor should they occupy frequencies that only dogs can hear. The low/High cut really helps seat the tone in a guitars natural sweet spot. That sweet spot might sound really thin to your ears when you are tweaking at home but it sounds glorious with your band mates. Your leads can stand out just by boosting the mids as opposed to the volume. You won't need so much gain on your overdrives which cleans and quiets your tone and you wont need a noise gate which I hate. I was able to kept up with my mans bomb azz rig without a single hitch! The power Cab/ Helix performed extremely well! The only caveat is that we were playing Blues/Funk/Jazz. I can't speak for Metal Djent 7-8-9-10 string chug-a-lugg. I have never used any of the High gain models so I have no experience to share. Maybe someone who uses a power cab with high gain models can share their success story. So the jam session went on to see the sun set and the Bourbon poured. We played like we were young and had a ball! As we packed up our gear and trotted it out to our cars, I stopped to give my man a hug and tell him how great it was to see him and how much fun it was to jam with him again. I reached down and grabbed my Power Cab+. As I walked past him down the drive way, I noticed, as I was giving him the side eye, that he was giving my little speaker another side eye. Some how, this second side eye felt different than the first. I smiled all the way back to my Opel

  13. Hey line 6’ers I am one of the unlucky souls who lost ALL of his gear in last October’s Sonoma/Napa County firestorm. My insurance is being incredibly lame in reimbursing me for 30 years worth of G.A.S attacks! Basically, they are refusing to pay! I’m hesitant to start replacing a bunch because i have not been reimbursed for the stuff I lost! Long story short, I am only replacing small amounts to keep me sane. I found a used Firehawk 1500! Now I need a FBV3 to control it. If anyone has one they are trying to sell or come across a site that is blowing them out at a good price, can you let me know? I’ve got to hold onto as many of my sheckles as I can until I have a better idea of what other lameness that my insurance company is going to deny us. I appreciate any heads up you throw my way. Also.....I have to say Thank You to Line 6! One of the cofounders of the company contacted me shortly after the fire just to check in and see if me and my family were ok. There are lots of posts on this forum that claim that Line 6 doesn’t care about its customers. Take it from me....they care! Still waiting for my call from Fender! ðŸ˜

  15. It seems so clear to me now! What took me so long? Here is the fun way to balance your volume across all of your patches. Go to YouTube Pick a backing track in the style that you most commonly play. I am a funk, blues fusion kind of player so my banks are set up : clean, rhythm crunch, lead. Turn up the amp and turn on the backing track and have fun! I start with rhythm and level all of those so i can switch between them without any volume difference. I move to cleans. My cleans typically are the Eric Johnson style: chorus, 2 delays and comp. I arpeggiate a pretty chord and make sure it cuts properly in the mix. I tweak all of the cleans until I can switch between all of them with no volume difference. Repeat for the other banks and patches A couple of observations in this process... This process assumes you have patches set up that you like. You don't want to get side tracked "fixing" a patch. This is about volume adjustment only. Sometimes you don't need more volume to get a patch to cut through the band mix. Sometimes a simple boost in the mids or other eq adjustments will do the trick. Only use one guitar. Pick the one you use the most. Don't use multiple YouTube videos: pick one and stick with one. That way there is no moving volume target since one video may be louder than the next Works with any guitar: Going from Strat to Les Paul? After you have finished leveling your patches just turn down the overall volume of the amp when you pick up the Les Paul. The patch change volumes are in relation to one another. Should be fine! For Variax players, you can level the volume of your modeled pickups so you won't have to deal with any amp adjustments. I use blue tooth through the amp for the backing track, then I'll put the backing track through the P.A. to confirm that my patches are good. Playing with the band is the final confirmation. Uber fun and useful cause you are playin a boat load of 🎸! And that is always good!

  17. Yes L6 link. Input 1 guitar/Variax. Input 2 aux. Center the mixer block. Crank the master volume on the amp (3 o'clock) heat up the power tubes. Pod volume at noon. Crank gain accordingly. Hopefully that works for you

That survey was a little lacking in specificity. And although can say that I Love my gear, I shamefully have to add "when it works!" to the end of the statement. Not so much about the Variax, but certainly about everything else Line 6 that I own. Europe? They let you in? To teach!?!? WTF! No wonder the EU is falling apart! Hee-hee! Stay safe and be well!   19. Whatchu talkin' 'bout Willis? There absolutely no shortage of critique of Line 6 gear here on this Line 6 hosted forum. After you stop patting yourself on the back for being the only "truth to power" speaker on this forum, take some time to actually read through some of the posts. I guarantee that you will find kindred spirits here. Like me! Aside from what I perceive as a bit of self aggrandizement, (I had to get you on that one!) I whole heartedly agree with you! The quality control of Line 6 gear, (particularly the DT series amps, The L- series speakers, the Pod HD 500 and Firehawk 1500) is horrid! I have not had any issues with my JTV Korean or my JTVUS. But both of my DT's my Pod Hd and my Firehawk have ALL gone in for some repair within the first year of ownership. I've done shows where the amp would turn on, but no sound would come out. Weird pops and other unwanted noises, hums, whistles and screeches. Tube rattling and on and on all within the first year of ownership! To me and to all of us....totally unacceptable! To make matters worse, the tech staff will tell you to do the hokie pokie wire wiggle, reboot because clearly the customer is doing something wrong. News flash Line 6...maybe it's not operator error. Maybe it's just a brilliant idea paired with shoddy craftsmanship. I've actually sent my amp in to be repaired and the amp came back without the speakers being hooked up! Clearly no one plugged a guitar into the amp to check their work! I'm convinced that the tech staff does not take a comprehensive approach to repairing their "faulty in the first place" gear. Example, I took my Two Rock amp in to get some replacement speakers installed, when I got the amp back, I got a laundry list of repairs that they did on the amp. The re-soldered this, tightend up that, changed a dying tube and rebiased the amp. No Charge! Line 6 returns my "fixed"amp with new issues that they will tell me is my fault! (That's only a slight exaggeration) I am over a hump with my gear at this point. With the exception of a new popping sound from my out of warrantee DT-25, the DT-50 and my Firehawk 1500 have performed quite well over the last year. I got a new JTV-69US that is a stunning guitar. Fingers crossed that this streak will continue. Breath is held EVERY gig I play that this junk will turn on. The fact that crossed fingers and held breath are my reality is totally unacceptable! Having someone from Line 6 tell me that I must be doing something wrong is totally unacceptable. Unacceptable because we, the customer, have a lot of good money invested in Line 6's flagship gear!

Try the Firehawk 1500...oh, it's to heavy. Try the Amplifi 150, oh...not loud enough and limited outs. Try a L series speaker, oh, not a real amp. Try a DT25...oh, not frfr enough for Helix. You gotta pick your poison. I think your best poison is the Firehawk 1500. It's heavy, get over it! And get that new carrying case with the wheels! Makes it way easier to transport.
