  1. Hi everybody, I have a Helix and since a couple of days also the Native version. But I can not get the sounds on Native that I get from the Floorversion. It sounds thin and fizzy, especially the distorted patches. Doesn't feel ok at all. I am certainly doing something wrong. I guess it has something to do with the input levels but I think I did everything right. I adjusted the audio interface to max but avoid clipping and the levels on Native are set to normal. On the Mac I can not change volume. It is disables because of the audio interface.Weird. Any idea? I can't believe that Native sounds so bad.
  2. Hi, I have a preset with snapshots using 1 amp (the cartographer which is great). Obviously because of using snapshots I have different parameters on the amp per snapshots. When I switch from one snapshot to another there is a loud pop noise. Is there a way to avoid that noise. I tried to use an eq pedal to regulate volume and keep the volume on the amp channel equal but this did not solve the issue. I also tried to put the amp in another path but this did not help neither.
  3. Cool, it works, Thank you very much for your help. Markus
  4. Cool. Thank you. I will try this out.
  5. Hi, I've read in this forum that it is possible to connect the iPhone to the Helix via camera adapter using the USB in in the back of the helix in order to stream audio. So, here I am. Everything connected but the music comes out of the loudspeaker of the iPhone and not my headphone (connected to the Helix). What do I have do? Thanks for your input and help. Markus
  6. tks everybody for your help!!
  7. Hi, I tried to connect my helix via xlr direct into the m20d (also tried into L3t and from L3t out into the m20d). There was quite a bit of clipping going on even though the meter was not showing any clipping. I wanted to to trim (using the auto trim option in m20d) but the mixer could not adjust saying "signal too hot". It is a bit weird since I did not have the impression I played very loud. In the helix I did just update to firmware 2.2 and all global settings are on "default". The xlr out is set to line level. The big volume know was set to the middle position. Very strange. Anybody has experience with that? Tks Markus

  9. Hi, thank you everybody for your support. I did reset globals (FS 5&6) and everything is ok now. Tks Markus
  10. I did check this morning, global setting is snap/stomp, but it doesn't really matter. When I turn the knob to scroll through all different modes nothing chances on the board. Still have just the stomp boxes in the upper row and nothing in the lower. Shall I reset? Is there a way to reset?
  11. Hi, this is weird. I am at home playing helix via computer. Suddenly my snapshots disappeared. They are still on the software, helix edit. But the label on the foot switches where normally you have the, stomp boxes or the snapshots are all empty. In the upper row I can see the stomp boxes but in the lower row where normally I have the 4 snapshots they are all empty. I shut down and restarted but all the same. Somebody experienced the same? Markus
  12. Hi, I am interested in the media player feature of the m20d. In the manual it is written that there is a footswitch that allows to toggle between stop/start of the playlist. I can not find this foot switch. Does anybody has experience with that. I also have a Helix. Would it be perhaps possible to asign a foot switch of the helix to do that? Tks Markus
  13. Hi Guitarmaniac64, thank you for your input. Yes, that is the pedal, a dvp4 from dunlop. It works now perfectly fine. I use a normal 1/4 inch from pedal output to exp3 of helix. I also need to plug an empty jack to the input (without that it does not work properly). This way it works as volume or expression.
  14. Hi, I am new to Helix. I still have my "old" volume pedal from the time when I played with a traditional pedal board. It is a Dunlop mini Volume dip 4. I tried to use it with Helix as volume or expression pedal but it did not work. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to buy a specific volume/exp pedal that works with Helix. If so, do you know of any mini pedal that would go with Helix. Thanks for your help. Markus
  15. Hi thanks, yes, this is what I did. Creating a copy of the patch and shift it +1 up with the pitch shifter. Thanks for the help.
  16. Hi, I am new to Helix and have the following question: I created my main patch. Which is one using snapshots. I just will use this one for the moment. There is one song in the set I need to tune the guitar up a half step. I tried with a simple pitch shifter in the beginning of the chain. This seems to work fine. I DID NOT asign the pitch shifter to snapshot in the Controller. But anytime I change snapshot while playing the pitchshifter changes to what I last used as it was controlled by snapshot. I need the pitch shifter to be on all the time for this song on all snapshots of the presets. Of course I could turn it on on all 8 snapshots at the beginning of the song and then afterwards take it away. But there must me a better solution. Anyone has experience with this?
  17. Hi, I have a pod hd500x, which I am using extensively. The other day during a gig in a bar the following happened. I was playing as usual. It was a very noisy song. I couldn't hear my self very good. Then the song ends, everybody stops playing, a moment of silence in the room, except my guitar continues to play. I had accidentally engaged my looper while playing. This was extremely embarrassing. For a moment I just wanted to to existe anymore. :o I like the looper fonction of the pod but it should be possible to deactivate for this type of situation. I looked in the manual but could not find this functionality. Therefore my wish to Line 6 for a future firmware upgrade would be the following: In global settings allow to assign the looper footswitch to either - looper - toggle on/off the 5th assigned FX or Amp in preset mode This would really be helpful. Markus
  18. That is great news. Thank you, Silverhead! I only have 8 presets, so I can save them quickly. One question last question: is there any advantage using the l6link cable over just a standard jack going into the front of the amp if I leave it all the time on PA/Ref anyway? Thanks in advance
  19. Hi, I use the hd500 going via XLR directly into the mixer. I use the full amp models. I am quite happy with that. What I have had to learn though is that patches created with the headphones at home sound thin and inconsistent in the practice room at 85-90 db. Now I create them directly there and I use a db meter for consistency. This gives me quite good result. But I still have a problem. The other day I played via L6Link into the L3t (I did that because on the next gig I want being connected as well to the mixer via XLR and use the L3t for me on stage as monitor). I put the L3t on PA/Ref as my patches are tweaked going direct. But each time after a while the L3t changes it to "electric guitar". I did not figure out if it is after a certain amount of time or when I engage a certain patch but it happens all the time. This is really weird. I thought the L6Link passes along the information of the pod. If I say to the pod I want direct and I use full amp, why is then the L3t changing to electric guitar which is simulating a 2x12 cab? Is that a bug? I mean cab or not cab should not be patch sensitiv since studio direct is a global setting isn't it. For the moment I found a work around: Not using the l6link but going via jack into the front 2 of the l3t. Now it remains on PA/Ref. Can one of the product experts or Line6 rep elaborate on this. Thanks
  20. Hi, Recently I changed completely my setup. instead of a mic'ed amp and then into the mixer, what I do is HD500 directly in the m20d mixer. The m20d has a specific dsp preset that is optimized for the hd500. That works extremely fine for me. Especially because I can now use stereo effects. That's really cool when you do say "Where the streets have no name" from U2 with plenty of delay. But, now the following question arises. My band has got an invitation to do a gig in a bit bigger venue. They have their own infrastructure (mixer, sound man). So we will not use the m20d. And I am asking myself, what will be the tone? Does anyone has experience. Perhaps I can ask Line6 for the details of the hd500 optimized dsp preset so that I could forward this info to the sound man. Does anyone has experience with the hd500 going into a normal mixer? Thks for the help Markus
  21. Ok, finally went to the rehearsal room and tried it out. rp1000 via XLR stereo direct into the mixer (m20d). After a bit of tweaking sounded really great. So good that I did not even try to go via the l3t (because I would loose the stereo option). The l3t I will use as kind of stage monitor for me directly as suggested by SiWatt69 or via the mixer. I don't know yet. But overall I was really surprised how good it sounded going directly into the p/a via the mixer. It sounded so good that now our lead guitarist which had a traditional setup (tube amp-->mic) is thinking of going also directly into the mixer. I think there is a big advantage of everybody going directly in the pa. We will be hearing each other better which will help to play less loud. What Jason6String said is true: You give up the control over your volume. On the other hand this was also a bit of the problem. That during rehearsal we were getting louder and louder because each member was increasing the volume.
