  1. Do we know when this will be released? I need time to put aside some money.... And figure out how I'm going to explain it to the wife.
  2. I have one of these. And it's nice. But the only thing this has that I like better than the POD, is an AMP Loop and an Effects Loop, so you can put additional real-world pedals in your effects loop both before and after a preamp. I have an extension cord so that my iPad doesn't sit in the unit while I'm using it live, and I can mount it to a microphone stand. The iPAD interface is nice, but POD HD Edit is better. Everyone seems to be on a touch-interface kick, but it's not as great as everyone thinks for this type of gear.
  3. I thought the summing happened based on the last pedal in the block chain. If it's a mono pedal, both R & L would be the summed signal, if it's a stereo pedal, then R & L would be the appropriate channel. Is that not correct?
  4. The tuners on the robots and the tronicals are not 100% accurate--I will often use my strobe tuner pedal to fine tune, but they're close enough for live work, where you need to quickly get back in "tune." And, sometimes you need to tune twice to get the most accuracy out of it. The AT-200 tuning is nice, but as it's digitally processing it to get it back in tune, it doesn't have the same problems as physically tuning a string.
  5. Then you can still use the FX loop, but you won't be able to put anything in front of the POD.
  6. I purchased one of the last ones from Sweetwater. I bought it to keep at work, since a few of us jam in the office every once in a while. But, I can see where the floor and rack models are probably more in demand these days, now that mobile POD and it's competitors are so easy to carry around in a phone.
  7. So, I've been trying to clean up my board that has my POD HD500x and the few external pedals that I use. One of the things I've been trying to figure out is how to change the power plug to a right angle plug. I found this adapter on Amazon to use with the existing plug. It seems to work ok, and I've had it on for the last 8 hours without any overheating problems. But, the plug is longer than the normal plug, so there's a bit of the metal portion still exposed. I don't expect that to cause a problem, but I'm paranoid about that sort of thing. Has anyone else dealt with this problem? Or, has anyone replaced the plug at the end of the standard power supply? For someone that studied electrical engineering (20 years ago), I'm reluctant to mess with it.
  8. I use mine with the left XLR output into my mixer. Works great for me.
  9. I've played for 8-10 hours on a single charge, but I've recently noticed that one of my two batteries is going bad. It'll only hold a charge for about 15 minutes. My other battery works fine, but I've started to use VDI power from the POD, so I only use it every once in a while to keep it from sitting on the charger. Now, if only I can figure out why my tuner keeps breaking my high E.
  10. Interesting, I have a robot and barely notice the extra weight on the neck. I would consider a Tronical on the JTV59, if it fit, simply to make it easier to stay in tune. The only other reason I might consider it for alternate tunings, would be if I wanted to process the mags and model separately in an alternate tuning.
  11. Other than #1, which is an incredibly bad idea, I agree with these. Touch screens are great, and a lot of fun to work with, but there are all kinds of issues that would make it bad on a floor model. And, remote control would also be prone to issues that many folks would not have the skill to deal with.
  12. Some of you guys really need to understand the concept of running a business. Line6 isn't going to keep their business alive selling products only to the small percentage of people that need or can afford the POD HD X series or the whole Dream Rig. If Line6 sells thousands, or hundreds of thousands of Amplifi products with a margin that allows them to invest in the development and sale of higher end equipment that only sells to a smaller percentage of people, that's a GOOD thing. Innovative companies do not survive trying to only bring the highest level gear to market, unless they charge a very high premium for that gear, and can stay far enough ahead of the market to avoid competition. Line6 is playing in a space, at a relatively decent price point, that requires that they have a diverse portfolio of products. D.I. has to be careful of what he says for legal reasons, which he's stated multiple times, and some of you don't understand; and, I know from my own professional career, is most definitely true. Before digital technology, the only way to upgrade or update gear was to buy new gear. Even if Line6 only provides one or two updates a year to existing products, they're still providing an advantage over collecting mounds of additional gear. Would I like Line6 to provide updates more often, and with more features--absolutely. But, I wonder how many people really understand how to use the gear they already have completely.
  13. Are you sure you have the correct version? I am also running 10.9.3, and it installed and it's running fine on two of my machines. I'm running 1.67.0
  14. If you have to tune strings to each other to get better results, I would guess that the intonation on that guitar is off at least slightly. Any time you're tuning from one string to another, instead of tuning all strings (on a properly intonated instrument) to a single reference, you are going to get less reliable results. Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't. I know a lot of old time players that still promote bad techniques. And luthiers aren't perfect either, you'll find plenty of them disagreeing with each other.
