  1. I was wondering the same thing. I was running the 4 cable method with my boss gt-10 into my marshall head, before I got the firehawk. Gonna try to hook it up the same way.
  2. Thanks for the input, I have been playing around with the noise gate as per mcbeddall's suggestion, and have brought down the unwanted noise down to where I can focus on songs, not noise. Still thinking there is a problem with my unit as others don't seem to have the same issues I have when using the same setup....... If anything I am getting into the tweaking of my unit more out of neccesity, which will pay off in the long run. Thanks again Silverhead, Davebyers44, and mcbeddall.
  3. Can any body check this out for me on their own Firehawk please.
  4. Just thought I would throw this tidbit out there- In the manual it states: "Factory Reset & Pedal Calibration Performing a Factory Reset restores the Firehawk FX to factory settings (without altering your device's saved Presets). After performing a Factory Reset, it is recommended that you next perform the Pedal Calibration for proper Pedal operation." In my quest to remove the excess crackle/static I am getting on the high gain patches, I performed a system reset by way of holding down the tap, and master volume when booting up, after reading the above phrase, I was confident that I could do this without changing the setup I had created (moving patches, deleting patches, and adding new patches I just created, as well as ones from the cloud). When the unit booted up again, all my patches were gone, and the Firehawk was back to the state when I took it out of the box. There goes 4 hours of I will never get back. So, beware - System reset will delete your patches. As a note, sure the patches are stored on the cloud and on my device, but that does not aid in the deleting and moving of patches in banks. It would be nice to have a "mirror backup function, which you could store to the cloud, or your bluetooth device, which would be available to the user instantly- hell, this would be awesome for creating multiple configuration files of your patches, depending on the type of gig you were doing, you could load full set lists of banks with a couple finger taps.
  5. Thanks Mcbeddall for the input, I would still ask if someone can help me out by duplicating the above settings.
  6. Thanks, yes the noise gate helps on the high gain stuff, as well as the patches with alot of modulation, but as I said, there seems to be more excessive noise on the Firehawk over what I am used to seeing on similar patches for my GT-10.
  7. I have been learning as much as I can on how the outputs function on the Firehawk. I am getting frustrated with patches with overdrives/distortions. I am getting a considerable amount of excess crackling static. At first I thought it was a grounding problem, so I tried 3 different guitars, switched cables, and hooked up my power conditioner to my setup. None of this helped remove the unwanted sound. I am trying to figure out if my Firehawk is defective, and would like to ask someone if they can clear this up for me. I am plugged directly into the firehawk's "guitar in", and have headphones plugged into the phones jack. The output mode is set to "line". I am on factory patch 09D - Killer Queen. When I am not playing, there is excess crackle. I have been using a boss GT-10 for a few years and never had this kind of static on any patches. Thanks in advance for your help.
  8. Yes, I agree with Dave, some Acoustic sims would be great.
  9. Yes, I am with you, on the lag, and the sounds which happen when switching between some effects - a bit agravating. Also, I noticed what seemed to be a ground hum on some of the high gain effects, i changed the guitar, the cable, even plugged into a different power source, but it seemed to do no good. I am gonna look into this more.
  10. Thanks, I'm gonna check anyways- it would be good to know.
  11. Makes sense- would this be less noticable if the Firehawk was not connected via bluetooth to a device (as per the "lag" mentioned in another post)?
  12. I know what you mean when you say Bluetooth is not very speedy, it takes a few minutes for the app to get populated by the Firehawk when you first do a boot up. It seems strange that the Firehawk would attempt to do a communicate with the app whenit has the preset in it's internal memory. I will try switching without the app to see how fast it gets.
  13. Finally cracked the box open and plugged my les paul into the firehawk. Went through the patches one by one, tried the tuner and the tap tempo, then mated it via bluetooth to my samsung galaxy tab. They communicated easily, and I was able to use my favorite music player to stream to the unit. A few thing i noticed, at least in my configuration, the stock patches are quite good, but there is a slight delay when switching between them. I also noticed when switching between a few of the high gain distorted patches, there was a kind of "swirling" sound which happened in the split second between the switching of the two. I really liked the variation of tones you get when switching cabs- i took a cheesy sounding distortion patch, switched the cab to greenback 25's, and the patch suddenly became a thick sounding monster. I like that the user patches start out with nothing in them, so you can start right at the barebones, choose your amp, cab, etc. until your sound takes shape. I do wish there was more user patch space on the unit, as I think I will need about 4 or 5 blank banks of 4 to arrange my setup how i like it, this means deleteing a few of the crazy sounding modulation patches, and moving others i want to keep into a different block- this seems like a time consuming task, but it is super easy to move them- all you have to do tap on the firehawk fx icon then tap on the "three lines" icon on the top right of the bank/patch screen, everything will turn grey, and each patch will have the "three line" icon beside it, if you click on that icon, you can drag it to wherever you want. Deleting was a bit more challenging, i did by way of saving a blank "user" patch to my tones, then tap on save to hardware, to open up the patch screen, drop it on the unwanted patch, then confirm. You will notice that the bluetooth device will not populate right away, sometimes it will take a reeboot (by the way the populating of patches takes a few minutes- at least on my device) to view the exact mirror of the patches stored on the firehawk. These are just a few things I have noticed after noodling with my firehawk for a couple of hours, I expect it will take up most of my free time in the coming days- I'm lovin' this thing!
  14. I found the same thing- If it does not get fixed in an update, I will probably try to design my patches taround using the effects buttons more, as there does not seem to be lag when switching single effects on and off. Still hoping the lag issue gets addressed. I also noticed a "whirling" sound sometimes when switching between 2 distorted patches. Any body else hear that?

  16. Just download the amplifi app, and save a patch to your cloud favourites then open with firehawk?
  17. I was monkeying around with the android app last night to see how far I could go in changing the names, and pics of the amps/effects- appears the amp & effects pictures are .png files ranging from 2k to 30 k in size. The names of the amps/effects are in in the format xxxxxx.model, where the x's are the type. example - amp.model, each amp will have a block of coding in the file, which has the name that is displayed in the app under the picture in the app. The thing is, if you want to mess with this kinda stuff, you have to root your device, which I would suggest only people who know what they are doing perform this.
  18. I should have clarified I am running android. Yes apple does not allow much flexibility for users to customize.
  19. Pre-orders get filled first - the guys I preordered from had 20 coming in, When I placed my order they had 5 left to hit the store shelves, unless they got more online orders in the meantime.
  20. Yes - the Firehawk has landed!!! Now we can all get to work on making killer patches to upload to the cloud!
  21. proaudiostar.com - out of New York.
  22. Just got word from the company I pre-ordered my Firehawk with, that they received a shipment of 20 today, and are going to try to ship mine tonight!!! Awesome- can't wait.
  23. I have not messed with that at all, but it is a good idea for sure, probably is possible if not already an option. Are you a POD HD user right now? If so, I would be curious to find out how you think the Firehawk stacks up against an HD series pedalboard
  24. I tried the app (many times), I have already downloaded the patches others have created which match the covers my band currently do. I don't expect them to be bang on, but no doubt they will be a great starting point and time saver for my switchover process from my GT-10. One thing I envision right now is that for live gigs, where I plan to have my Firehawk running into the front of house PA system, instantly after a set, I can stream the canned music from my android app to my Firehawk, and into front of house to provide a smoother transition to the band's break between sets. I am hoping that the reason the release date is being pushed forward is that they are adding some of the new things they released for the HD500X on the Firehawk, but did not want to let the HD500 users know that until the last minute possible.
