  1. Totally can assign two reverbs on POD Go. DSP limitations aside. Are you familiar with the DSP Allocation chart? If you don't plan on using amp/cab modeling then you can free up the most DSP by: set amp block to preamp and select the Del Sol 300 preamp only block leave cab block on internal cab (not IR) and doesn't matter which cab is selected bypass both blocks Set like that, you can run any two reverbs without fear of running out of horsepower. The two springs are "most costly" at close to 35% each. So using two springs would eat up about 70% of available power leaving only 30% for your other two selectable blocks. That's "only" 30% because you can probably still do just about anything. That 30% is quite a lot (as you can see, the most "expensive" reverbs are only a little more than that already). You would run into more limitations of DSP power with two reverbs if you were also using some expensive amps with them.
  2. Yes! You can totally assign toggle switches like this on all of the units. Assign both blocks to turn on/off with the same switch Select one of the blocks and manually toggle it off while the other is on. It's now a switch that toggles between the two!
  3. The forums here are great. There's also a great facebook group with almost 30,000 people in it that gets a huge variety of disussion.
  4. @SaschaFranck, Soundflower is great but also old and not well maintained. For new things, I recommend BlackHole which is the exact same thing as SoundFlower but with complete updated capability for Catalina's security model. Check out BlackHole here. Of course, if anyone is already using Soundflower and it's working perfectly for you, no need to switch. Just pointing out a newer option.
  5. I have done what silverhead is suggesting. It works perfectly.
  6. If you need the two reverbs in parallel then POD Go will not do that.
  7. Assign Helix as the primary mac sound output as well. Go to your Audio MIDI Setup on the mac, right-click Helix and choose Use This Device For Sound Output. Your playback will now come from Helix. However, this still won't let you record via QuickTime as that output is actually output and will not show on Helix as input. I'm not too familiar with loopback capabilities of macOS since I record in DAW while also recording with camera and then sync up audio and video in Final Cut (or iMovie) after the fact. I have been experimenting with OBS and BlackHole (both free) which seem like they may be able to solve this problem but I haven't worked out all the kinks yet.
  8. @Indicafilms, the AMP OUT can either be your entire chain or it can be the AMP with no cab. It is my understanding that you want an out that has neither amp nor cab. AMP OUT will not be able to provide this. However, you can use the FX SEND for this. In global settings -> Ins/Outs -> FX Loop Level: set it to "instrument" Connect a standard guitar cable from POD's send to your amp's input Move the FX loop anywhere before the amp block Set the MIX control to 50% (as shown below) and you will get equal signal flowing to your external amp and to the POD signal chain. Any FX you put before the send will also go to your amp while any you put after it will only be reflected on POD's outputs
  9. If not using snapshots, in stomp mode, this is easier to set up in HX edit. Just set the "max" param to a lower setting than the "min" param. If you are using Snapshots, assign to snapshot by holding knob first time you turn it. Then just set it in each snapshot. Here's is a vid with some snapshots info when working directly on the unit.
  10. @spaceatl, I'm not following. I understand how the AMP out differs in default configurations. I'm trying to learn about the benefit you're saying for using AMP out in the non-default setting. I had been under the impression that AMP out set to "Main Out" would be an identical signal to using the main out directly but you said above the AMP out set to "Main Out" is preferable to using the actual main out. This is the improvement I'm trying to learn what makes it better. So far, I only ever used the main out itself.
  11. Everything except the tube mic preamp model have both preamp and "full" amp models. You've got Brit Plexi Brt in both preamp and amp. Look harder!!! In some situations, if you use up too much DSP (processing horsepower) with other FX, certain amps might be "grayed out" and not usable.
  12. Interesting. I only tap with my feet and they aren't bare so no skin contact. I haven't experienced this. Your theory seems plausible. Maybe try wrapping the "head" of that switch with some electrical tape to prevent contact.
  13. I would totally dig having the ability to save notes directly into my presets. I would make extensive use of it even if it weren't searchable. Even if they only showed while I was in HX Edit it would still rule.
  14. @spaceatl I'm curious to learn about the AMP OUT vs. using the main out if main out is set to instrument level. Can you help me understand the difference between the two?
  15. Does it start if you don't have HXFX connected via USB?
  16. POD Go and HX Stomp both have amp models in them. HX Effects has no amp models. HX Stomp has all the effects that HX Effects has. POD Go has almost all the effects that HX Effects has. POD Go and HX Stomp have all the same amps. HX Effects can do up to nine of any of its effects. HX Stomp can do up to six. POD Go can do up to four, but you always also have a wah, volume pedal, EQ, amp and cab in addition to those four (and all can be turned off). Any of those three can be a great option for a bedroom player. It's hard to say which is best for you without knowing more. Happy to answer more questions.
  17. When using the 1/4" outs you are running an unbalanced signal. With XLR, you are running a balanced signal. A balanced cable run carries two copies of the signal out of phase with each other. The mixer then flips the phase on one copy before summing them back together. This means it will auto-cancel any noise/interference picked up in the cable run. The most likely thing at play here is that your unbalanced 1/4" cable is picking up a ton of electrical interference. Technically, your XLR is also picking up all the same interference but it's getting canceled back out by the phase shift. Or maybe you've got a grounding problem.
  18. @MyNameIsCharon What interface do you have? But avoid going Helix into an instrument input of a recording interface. My favorite way would be Helix 1/4" outs to a pair of stereo 1/4" ins on the interface but show what interface you have. Helix XLR outs to a pair of XLR ins on an interface will work, too. Make sure they're all set to line level if possible. The good thing about this vs. plugging your guitar directly into the interface is you can turn down Helix volume if it is clipping the interface and it won't affect the tone at all. It will still be awesome if you can get the Helix USB working directly but the Behringer may still be a good backup plan.
  19. @MyNameIsCharon, I meant plug Helix into the Behringer (as opposed to get rid of Helix and only use the Behringer). ...as a backup plan, if things don't go well with Helix USB and your computer for some reason.

    Clipping DI in

I don't even know if pad influences the DI signal because I never use the pad. Outside of that, you're correct. The DI outs are absolutely zero processing with no ability to influence them (intentionally and desirably so). I'm scratching my head as to what could be the deal (especially given I have the exact same pickups).
  21. HX Edit never processes audio so the meters would just show zero all the time. Yes, programmers can eventually write enough code to make just about anything work but we're probably talking about a ground-up re-write of the editor to make this happen. I'm not claiming they'll never do it. I'm only giving my "armchair guess" as to why they didn't do it at this time. I agree it would be pretty cool to have them in there.
  22. You can certainly keep using your Behringer to record. I know the point is to get Helix working so maybe that can be explored a bit. Tell us more about your setup. What DAW software? What computer? How old is it? Using a USB hub of any kind? etc.
  23. Go to "ins/outs" in global settings Hit the "page right" button until you are on the third page Change re-amp source of USB 7 to "Guitar" Nothing else on Helix will look any different.

    wah pedal ?

Yeah, it's a lot of fun. There are so many little things like this that make perfect sense once you figure them out but may not be obvious to new users. If you get the chance, definitely read through the manual. There's a lot of really cool stuff in there. I find it entertaining but I might just be that kind of nerd.

    Clipping DI in

@Jampzz, along those lines, my 7-string with the exact same pickups has about 2.5mm from bottom of lowest string to top of pickup poles. I mentioned above I'm just getting green lights on my input level with Helix Floor.
