  1. I believe that you can add funk and RnB tracks to the irealbook. You may have to pay a little more to get it but I think it is still available.
  2. Never underestimate the power of mids!

    Go to mic???

I like the 121 ribbon and the 4038 as well. I seem to get a warm sound from both and the 4038 seems a shade darker. Which I like. But different mics work differently with different amps. The old 57 is a good place to start.
  4. Mission Pedals makes a great expression pedal just for Helix. Looks super slick and works well. Check them out!
  5. Firehawk in relatively durable. Mine has been checked and flown all over the country and I've done multiple clinics with it. It's probably been abused more than most and it's still doing fine so far. Footswitches can always break down on you over extended rough use, but it's not hard to replace one. Just try not to drop it on concrete!
  6. You should be able to stack a couple delays in the firehawk. You may wanna do a search on the cloud (in the app) to find some U2 type settings. These will always have a quarter note and dotted 8th delays stacked if the preset is done properly. This will give you a great ambient setting for praise and worship guitar tones. Just look for a setting for "Where the Streets Have no Name" and make sure it has a good rating. This can all be done by accessing the cloud within the app. Then choose the option to store the sound on the actual firehawk. So you can access the preset via the footswitch and not have to fumble with your phone in a live scenario.
  7. Totally agree with TBoneous. Amplifi30 and relay G10 are so cool for small spaces and low volumes. And the ability to stream music through the same unit make it the perfect practice rig that is super easy to use. DO IT!
  8. Maybe check the "car play" settings in your phone if it is an iphone. I experience this a lot in rental cars immediately after connecting via bluetooth. It starts in alphabetical order with the first song in itunes library. Can't tell you how many times I hear "Actual Proof" by Herbie Hancock when I'm on the road! lol. This may help with the issue. Good luck!
  9. Sounds like it may need to be returned for repair.
  10. I've had a few of these types of experiences. I can't give a definite answer, but I know sometimes I have too many devices saved in my phone, or I have other bluetooth devices in the room that may be searching and I don't realize it. Maybe try "forgetting everything else on your device and make sure there are no other devices sending out a bluetooth signal. Like I said, don't know if this works 100% but it seems to have helped me a couple times in the recent past.
  11. The Amplifi 30 is actually my favorite of all the Amplifi models. Super portable and great sounding. Especially the clean sound of the JC120. I like to add some cave reverb and simple delay and occasionally the screamer distorion. Having something that small that sounds that good AND has the ability to stream music via bluetooth makes it the ideal practice/travel amp. Great for shedding tunes in a hotel room. I like a sound that has a lot of midrange and this amp seems to excel in those kinds of frequencies. I recommend the 30 over the larger models. It'll get plenty of volume considering it's size.
  12. Sounds like the input gate is on. Check that out. You can still have it on and just turn it down enough to where it keeps things super quiet without losing sustain.
  13. You can also go into a preset and select "Clear Block" on each block to clear out everything on the preset. Then go back and build your own. It's pretty easy to do. You can rename the preset the same way.
  14. The LT2 is a better choice in my opinion. It is designed for exactly what you're describing. And I find the idea of an amp modeler going through an amp to be a little redundant. Of course you can use any powered FRFR speaker but the LT2 is definitely built with this kind of application in mind. And of course there is the option of using a Firehawk 1500 which has everything in one unit! Good luck!
  15. I would definitely recommend getting a good setup and a fret-buffing before changing the neck all together. I have a Mexi-Tele that was refretted and I even had the shape of the neck sanded down a bit. These kinds of things can make a guitar feel totally different than stock. Give it a try before changing the neck.
  16. It's hard to get over the feeling of an electric guitar that sounds like an acoustic. Heavier strings with higher action make it feel better, but then it may not be ideal for electric guitar parts. It's more about training your brain I guess. I think 11's are an all around great gauge for this especially with a good setup. As far as brand goes, I don't think it matters too much. I like D'Addario or Elixir.
  17. You should be able to set it up to at least perform like a Strat style tremelo. Floating. However, I've never known ANY other bridge to perform like a Floyd Rose does.
  18. The Amplifi TT has 2 1/4" outs on the back that can go direct into powered speakers or a board. The actual amplifi amps do not. I have mic'd the amplifi 30 for a video demo that I did and it sounded pretty good, though I have never tried this for a live performance with a band. check this out.
  19. I've had just a tiny bit of this happen to me. Not sure if this is a fix 100% of the time, but make sure you don't have too many bluetooth devices stored on your phone at one time. And make sure there aren't other bluetooth devices on in the room. I've noticed this being an issue once or twice and it seemed to help when I "forgot" some devices on my phone. Hope my two cents is helpful in some way. Good luck!
  20. You can turn the amp models off on firehawk and go straight into the amp using effects only. Still, the easiest way to do this is to set up the effects on the app, then store them on the FH via bluetooth. Using the app to switch sounds in real time can be a bit risky. More chance of human error!
  21. They operate pretty similarly. I think FH would be better for live use since it can all be right there on the floor instead of needing a shortboard connected to the unit like most of the Amplifi units. If you like the sounds on Amplifi, you will be happy with Firehawk.
  22. I feel that the best way to do this is to set up the banks via the app, then select "store on FH" and have them ready with the footswitches rather than do all the switching from the app. ither way can work but I think its quicker to have them saved on the board and just do a little toe-tap. Less chance of lag that way.
  23. As long as the L2's are updated, you should be more than happy with the sound.
  24. The Stagesource L3's are great. QSC makes amazing speakers as well. If you want to save a little money, check out the Mackie SRM speakers. You're always at the mercy of your PA when it comes to using an amp modeler into a board for live use, so keep that in mind when searching for the perfect tone!
  25. No major issues here. Mine gets beat up and flown all over the country to do clinics with. As long as things are up to date, no problems.
