  1. I'm using helix to feed from 1/4 outs to my two fenders creating a stereo signal. In addition I'd like to create a "bass" signal and feed that to a bass amp. My first thought was to use a xlr-1/4 cable, xlr out of helix into 1/4 input of bass amp, but this creates a terrible buzz. I'm sure I'm suffering from lack of audio engineering knowledge, could anyone help me make sense of this scenario? All my fx loops are already in use. Right now I've settled with a mono guitar / mono bass setup. Any help would be much appreciated!
  2. really looking forward to more bass options, both multi band compressor, and phaser are cool, however I'm wondering why line 6 keeps releasing new pitch models instead of working on polyphonic pitch shifting??? Seriously!!! Have had to keep a EXH hog, a whammy 5 in the effects loop, and for the most part avoiding the whole pitch shifting menu in helix due to its appalling ability to tracking the notes it revives. It's really kinda ridiculous to have all these pitch shifting models, and not being able to use them cause they kinda sound like cheep toys. If your gonna do pitch shifting do it right! Don't get me wrong, I'm saying this with love, cause that is the word that comes to mind when I think of my helix. LOVE!
  3. Misspelled! Ment midi messages, freaking auto incorrect!
  4. Oh no! Was in the near future was planning on sending numerous misidentified commands at once to helix! Seriously hope this is addressed ASAP!
  5. Ahh, got it. Midi channel selected, helix doesn't seem to be receiving the commands yet, onward!
  6. When I select midi output my only option seems to be configuration, that takes me to the preferences menu under midi link, and not seeing an obvious way to set my desired midi channel
  7. I'm having trouble setting the midi channel in ableton, do I have to hook up the computer and helix with a midi cable somehow, or will the data travel through the dub cable?
  8. Thanks to everyone for there thoughts! Everything is working great now, feel a bit silly now, but really over that too!
  9. I have helix setup as a interface into ableton through ASIO, and I'm having trouble getting any audio out of the computer speakers, is this because the computer is sending the audio back to the helix?
  10. I not even getting Audio out of my laptop speakers through ASIO
  11. And thanks big time, I'm so green here in this daw world!
  12. Running PC, with Intel core i7 6700k quad-core 4.0 GHz, and 32GB ram. Ableton live 9 standard, 64 bit. Just trying to record guitar through helix in ableton at the moment. If I can get that working, I'll try other stuff. So, I turn everything on, go to preferences, driver type ASIO, audio device ASIO Helix, ( only cause that's what the guy said to do when setting up an interface on the ableton video. I then set up the audio track to accept the helix signal, and I'm getting green signal in the meters, but nothing out of the speakers??? Then I change back to driver type back to MME/DirectX, and audio input device to digital audio interface (line 6 wave. and wow! now I'm getting signal out if the speakers, but lots of latency..... says output latency - 92.9 ms. Played around with the latency settings, with no luck.
  13. [quote name="Equilibrium_606" Hope this helps!!! Hey there Equilibrium, so I figured maybe you could help me with issue I'm having with helix into ableton latency. I can't seem to get it eliminated any clues?
  14. Yeah, hard to make time sometimes. No deadlines!
  15. Amazing! Thanks for sharing your methods! Your the man!
  16. Wow! Are you able to automate snapshot changes this way???
  17. Is there a active version of the fr212?
  18. What I've gathered is to get rid of the fizz, or at least lessen it, is instead of pulling out all the bass, and treble in the amp parameters, use high, and low cut in the cab parameters.Definitely play with the Mic selection, ribbons seem to have the most warmth. Also you could check out some of the IRs available for download out there.
  19. Still using my amps, Fender super-sonic, and vibro-king. Haven't had the cash to get anything else to play though that would sound better. But hope to try out some kind of ff/fr powered speakers soon.
  20. Running Strymon Timeline, TC Electronics Ditto, EHX 2880 all in line into fx loops 1&2. Subdecay Octasynth into fx loop 3. EHX H.O.G. & Digitech Whammy 5 split with the use of an A/B & A/B/Y switches into fx loop 4. 1/4 sterio out to Fender Super-Sonic & Vibro King.
  21. Right on, thanks for explaining DI! Apologise for being harsh!
  22. That seems kinda dumb! Don't care if it's normal or not. One should be able to cut the dry signal completely on Any effect! Period!
