  1. So nobody using Windows has this issue? Are there people using Native on Windows who *don't* have it? Or are only Mac folks interested? ...Kidding, just checking...
  2. Well said HO, agree on all counts. I'm also glad you brought this up in general, with rumors going around of more specific info that AFAIK we don't actually have, and probably never will, as it's part of the Secret Sauce .

Sorry, as you were. The post I replied to had a post just above it from him with no solution, I didn't go back and check. My bad.

    What solution was that?
  6. Are people seeing this on Windows too? I use an older laptop for music stuff, if it's CPU heavy it's useless to me. (And no I haven't had a chance to try it, which I should.)
  7. Not valid it says. Oh well. I wavered on this, since I'm not recording much these days. In the end I decided to go for it, but too late, apparently. I win either way in a sense, money or software in pocket :)
  8. Not that I could figure out. Far as I can tell, the Headroom parameter has no effect on the non-effect side of the Balance control, and the minimum delay time is way too long to treat it as no delay. I'd love to be wrong.
  9. Of course you can do that w a hardware Helix too, just one track at a time, and only if your Helix is physically there. It's even set up to make that workflow easy.
  10. You can process multiple tracks at once through Native, up to the limit of your computer.
  11. If you save and restore from an actual Helix backup, IRs go back where they were, numbers not needed. If for some reason you can't use your full backup, order won't be preserved without numbering them and manually putting them back in order.
  12. Wouldn't be my first criteria for choosing a modeler. Or second. But to each their own...
  13. Two choices really -- match your Helix as close as possible, or something small and either cheap or already owned that you dig, or if need be, can tolerate for the rest of the night. Close as possible is obviously another Helix of some flavor, or Native. Plan b could be a Fly Rig, Amplifire, or another compact sim, or a small amp.
  14. Ugh, hope that comes out well, and in not too long :)
  15. If you didn't like the Helix Native software (that's what you meant, yes?), you probably won't like the hardware either, since they're pretty identical sonically, as I understand it. OTOH, you need to give yourself some real time with it. Took me a while to find my happy place in there, but now I have a lot of them. Great unit IMO.
  16. That's apparently a thing with this upgrade, many people, maybe most, have seen it, me included. Luckily the fix is an easy one-time thing.
  17. Multiple Ownhammer IRs should be fine with either version, and they suggest the non-MPT versions *may* sound better. You need the MPT versions mostly if you're combining IRs from different manufacturers.
  18. You know, it's a great deal, but I still don't think I'm going to do it. I'm not recording that much these days, and I have a Helix floor, upshot is that dn't don't really NEED it, and the $30 I'd save isn't that big a deal.
  19. For an amp that cleans up with guitar volume down and/or light picking, but responds very nicely when you hit it harder -- without changing settings -- check out the new Derailed Ingrid (Trainwreck).
  20. My assumption is that ramp affects how fast the delay time changes if you control it with a pedal or footswitch. Haven't tested that. I don't find the splice glitch thing particularly endearing either, bit it doesn't bum me out. I keep it low. It does have a headroom parameter you can crank up, but unlike some to other Helix delays, so far I like the default of not much. In general I like it. Sort of random delay spacing but not really, works for me as sparse somewhat lo-fi ambience.
  21. When I restored from backup after I upgraded, I didn't notice that you could import only certain setlists, so that overwrote the new factory ones. When I figured that out, I did the "Reset setlists to factory, Keep IRs", thing, then restored from backups again, but not the factory setlists, and now I have them. They're not wildly different I think, but there is some new stuff. My USB out setting got set to that bogus "5" value that doesn't work, as did I think everyone's. I think my stomps/snaps seeing was retained, but there's some chance I just fixed it without thinking. As for going unresponsive, I started a separate thread about my version of that. Different sequence of actions, not 100% nailed down what similar circumstances don't do it, but in the context it was happening, it was 100% repeatable.
  22. Yeah, well, this is a patch of my own that I don't want to trash if I can help it. Last night I tried those steps again after editing the patch some more, no problem, but I didn't have HxEdit running. Didn't take the time to narrow down which of those things made the difference, will when I get a chance.
  23. Don't think that's a defect. New upgrade process doesn't wipe your presets or IRs, which is cool, though you should restart after updating to rebuilding your presets. Just a heads-up, if you did the default thing when you restored from your backup, you overwrote the new factory setlists. You now can expand the Presets section, and choose which setlists you want to restore.
