Thanks, but: To be honest, I very much preferred the dark-text-on-light-background version. My eyesight is not in the best shape anymore, and any "night mode" (as they call it these days) makes me feel very uncomfortable. From the UI point of view, the "night mode" makes kinda sense in HX Edit because of the various color nuances that are better distinguishable in the color-on-dark-background mode. But for text reading it's quite a nightmare for me.

Works fine if you don't need to switch from Exp1 to Exp2 back and forth between each verse and chorus. :) If you have a block that remains active all the time, you can use its Volume parameter instead. Or, if you don't use a parallel path in a preset, you can actually create a fake one, bypassing its clean path and use the Mixer – which you can place at any position in the chain you need – as a "free" volume pedal block. The HX Stomp is astoundingly flexible in creating workarounds to compensate for its limitations. I'm still overwhelmed. :) That said, recently I added a DMC.micro to my otherwise simple setup (Exp1 and FS5) for more flexibility, especially for bands where I'm playing guitar. But when playing bass – except for one group where I'm playing several special effects on the bass – I don't even need any external switches or pedals.

Um, I haven't analyzed those search results myself. That was just a gentle hint that a specific internet search may help you find what you need. You could also solder an adapter yourself. That's what I do since decades. If you don't know how to solder, ask your friends/relatives/neighbors if someone can do it for you. Since this connection is not transporting any audio signal, there's not much that can actually break if something is connected incorrectly. Either it will just work or it won't. That's the problem with those cheap things. That's a good start, but it's still TRS-to-TRS That means if you plug the TS from the Y cable, it will short the ring and the sleeve from the pedal. Have you tried all the "EXP/FS Tip", "EXP/FS Ring", "Tip Polarity" and "Ring Polarity" options in the Global Settings? Depending on how the M-Audio pedal is wired inside, one of these combinations might actually work.

I wasn't "proposing" anything. I have asked its status, and I got a reply: […] That's what I wanted to know. All's good here.

Do not overinterpret questions that were asked in "easy English" on purpose. ;)

Experimentally thinking even farther … If this would be even possible, then the built-in HX Stomp toggle for Exp1/2 could actually work.
-
Hm, perhaps I was "experimentally thinking" too far: You can actually assign both effects on the Stomp to CC#1 – i.e. Exp1, since CC#1 is reserved for this – and to a toggle switch. The pedal will then constantly affect the parameters on both, but that doesn't matter because only one effect at a time will be on, the other one bypassed. Unless you need to "freeze" the affected parameter on one of those effects while altering the other one – as it would when "non-MIDI" toggling between Exp1 and Exp2. Then it may not work as desired. But I'm using an expression pedal in the HXS Exp jack via Y cable as it's more flexible. Nonetheless, I have set up quite a few presets where I have assigned two effects to Exp1 and alternatively toggling between them. Usually it's a combination of two from Wah, Tremolo Speed, Chorus Depth or Delay Time, i.e. my pedal either affects e.g. Wah or Tremolo Speed. Using the Exp Jack has also the benefit that you can assign the Bypass to Position 0% and thus save a switch.

Since it apparently hasn't been asked in this thread yet: Have you checked the impedance setting on your Input block? Does it match your guitar? https://duckduckgo.com/?q="helix+lt"+input+impedance

Because that function is not MIDI. Yes, in theory, provided the ES-8 can: Assign effect 1 to Exp1 on HXS Assign effect 2 to Exp2 on HXS Assign a toggle bypass of both effects to a switch on the device of your choice (easy to do on HXS) If technically possible on ES-8, assign both CC#1&2 to your expression pedal. The pedal would then send both CCs simultaneously while one of both effects would always be off. If technically possible… Just a thought experiment. :)

Downgrade to firmware 2.91 (tested myself!) or wait for the next update. Even though the relase notes for v2.92 claim that "When Global Settings > Footswitches > Stomp Select is set to "Off" or "Press," touch-holding switches could still result in assignment and swap dialogs—FIXED", it's not the case on a HX Stomp. "Luckily", FS1 touch sensitivity on my Stomp is broken out of the box, so I only have to deal with two annoyingly hypersensitive switches at the moment. (Eventually sending the device in for warranty repair when not needed for a few weeks.)

If you've exported the preset to your computer, you can then simply overwrite it with a blank preset just per copy & paste in the preset list.

Y cable > TS-female-to-TRS-female adapter > M-Audio cable That's how I made the EV-5 (see above) work at first before even modyfing it. I think it's because the recent firmware updates got smarter in detecting the "nature" of an expression pedal. My modified EV-5 plugged in directly in TRS mode works flawlessly with v2.92. But when used with a Y cable, it needs to be in the TS mode.

I had some similar issues with the HX Stomp when installing the Helix Driver 1.0.9 on El Capitan. It worked but it's actually unsupported on El Capitan per release notes. Downgrading the driver to v1.0.7 fixed these issues (I hope). But that won't help you if your Mac runs Catalina. P.S. No Logitech drivers involved whatsoever.

Try the Clawthorn Drive which combines OD & Fuzz so you can save a block. That would mean the FOH signal will be on the Send output. It will work but it's not necessarily a good thing: a D.I. box will be necessary. The better solution is using a Send block before the Amp/Cab, thus using the Send output to feed the backline amp. The Amp/Cab block then goes to Main Out which is a balanced output; with a TRS-to-XLR adapter it is even "FOH-ready". Been there done exactly that, and it worked great:

You can already "move" multiple presets in the HX Edit preset list per drag and drop, at least on Mac. However, they will replace all existing presets following the position where you're placing them. So make sure that those are empty preset slots.

If your first device in the loop has a stereo input: yes. The FX Loop block must be the stereo version, too. Although, if your signal before the FX Loop block is still mono anyway, then it should work with a simple mono send cable as well. Yes.

I had a Roland EV-5 lying around since about 10 years. In its original state, plugged in directly it has worked after tweaking the Global Settings on the HX Stomp (v2.92) accordingly. Not sure if it really worked that well when using a Y cable though. Perhaps I ended up using some patch "TRS-to-TS" cables in between, don't remember. Hence eventually I've modified the EV-5 anyway, removed its silly firm TRS cable, installed a TRS socket instead, plus a small switch to vary the socket between TRS and "true" TS mode. Now I'm using a Y cable for the EV-5 in TS mode on tip for pedal 1, and an old switch on ring for FS5. Works flawlessly.

Apparently the VPJR is not meant to be an expression pedal in the first place: https://ernieball.com/guitar-accessories/pedals/volume-pedals#P06180 So where do you plug the Y cable in? Input or Output jack? Does that make any difference? On the Helix, have you checked the Global Settings > Preferences > Tip Polarity setting?
-
Yes you can. E.g. use a stereo Send block at the end of your chain.

Just a week ago I was doing a FOH mix in a small club, using two such (possibly the same?) Yamaha speakers as stage monitors. At first I went from a small Yamaha mixing desk via Aux 1/2 Out jacks with simple TS-to-TS cables, and got the buzz. So I changed to TRS-to-XLR which has fixed it. No idea what kind of Aux Outs there are on that mixer though. So I'd say there's rather something with those Yamaha speakers; that they don't like TS cables… :)

Because: Menu > Controller Assign > Param = IR Sel > Controller = FS# > Next Page > Min Value = 1 & Max Value = 128 Fix: Menu > Controller Assign > Param = IR Sel > Controller = None
-
And if you don't use a parallel path in your chain, you can have a "blockless" volume pedal in the middle by creating a "fake" parallel path for just the first block(s), route all signal to it and assign the Level parameter of the Mixer "miniblock" to your pedal.
-
In fact, to save a valuable block slot, you can assign any other block's Level parameter to your expression pedal to serve as a volume pedal instead. Including the Main Output level which is always active.
