  1. if you plan to use it with your 500... none of that matters... you can also change them via midi. and to further pile on the info.... the default amps are different in a DT50 vs DT25
  2. you do get 32 presets with the FBV shortboard according to the manual: connect a Line 6 FBV Shortboard controller for channel switching, effects on/off control, wah/volume pedals, access to 32 more channel memories, a chromatic tuner, and tap tempo for delays. ----- manual here: http://l6c.scdn.line6.net/data/6/0a060b316ac34f059357c410f/application/pdf/Spider%20II%20User%20Manual.pdf
  3. the fbv express models cannot change banks... that will limit you to 4, what spider2 model do you have? some of the lower wattage ones are limited even with the shortboard.
  4. it's designed to compensate... to someone particular it might make a difference, I can't tell you what you're gonna hear.... perhaps pickup the head and one of those convertible type cabs... i've seen 2x12's with a panel that can be removed in the rear.
  5. they have dedicated output modes to define the amp you choose (stack=closed, combo=open) from there the speaker cabinet you select determines its open/closed "sound" of course you can override the "correct" output mode if you think it sounds better to you... generally speaking the DT50 is crazy loud... i'd think the DT25 would be more suitable for most "non-metal" players.
  6. 1.2 is the latest m20d firmware: http://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=5670
  7. it's probably picking up a fan in your pc or some other nearby electrical device... perhaps try a better shielded usb cable. (even monster makes usb cables)
  8. you need monkey for firmware... you can get the rest of the items as individual downloads... i can't endorse your original experience as anywhere near typical though... and with the frequently updated monkey software, i'd advise you to get monkey and use it.
  9. not really any ideas... just wanted to add that i've used reaper with the toneports on many occasions.
  10. it only has 4 from the amp itself... some of the amps can change banks with the FBV shortboard giving you more... if you have one try it... if you don't have one you're stuck with just 4 anyway.
  11. good catch didn't even notice that... but yeah the new pickguard is HSS, and the original guitar is SSS ... ooops!
  12. I can give or take either one... i probably would have asked for black... or tort shell...(maybe not for the gold though...) i'm the opposite of funky though... hate the SSS pickguard/look on the 69's.... which kind of sucks, since i like that pup configuration better.
  13. i think that normal "tap tempo" indicator showing you the tempo... but i'm usually not looking at the amp while playing so i never really noticed!
  14. if i recall correctly... it didn't even ship with a looper at all... i think that came with a firmware update. meaning it was never part of the original design, and they figured a way later to make something usable.. (even if imperfect) of course i could be wrong since i don't have the amp... just seem to recall discussions when the firmware update was released.
  15. 8.1 was released Tuesday i believe.... i've been using the preview without issue for quite a while. i'd try a usb 2.0 port, i've heard of others having issues with 3.0 ports... just an idea.
  16. there is just no external bias points it gets biased like any other amp.... settings are public here: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/amplifiers/dt50dt25/dt50dt25-faq-r144
  17. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/effects/pod/pod-hd500x-compatibility-with-workbench-175-an-r565 it appears that you will need the interface afterall.
  18. you're correct, you can even simply drag and drop...
  19. i think that you are simply switching tones before you hit the stop button on the looper... perhaps you are hitting the overdub button instead to close the loop? (if you are starting and "stopping" with the same footswitch then you are...) you start with FSA, and end with FSB, then change tones... if you start FSA and close the loop FSA.... it's still recording when you change patches.
  20. check line6 control panel icon and make sure that the correct input is selected.
