  1. can't afford the petersen (accepting donations :) ) i tend to use the tuner in the pod or the m13/m5 of course i was losing my mind there for a while... the reference pitch got changed on the m13 i started to think that it was crazy inaccurate. easy enough fix though.
  2. should work fine, within its obvious limitations (alt tunings, being the most obvious)
  3. check the input.... possible that its set to aux/variax or something different... also check for an FX loop... they may have one in the chain... (useful for going direct to PA if its an acoustic tone) you can throw a cable in the loop.. or remove it from the chain... or use it! :)
  4. Hate to hear it, because the DT is a great amp... but I don't think it was meeting your needs. good luck.
  5. the L6LINK connection automatically changes the output mode to the suitable mode... have you tried manually changing it back? I don't think that you can bypass that automatic change and prevent it from happening.... but you should be able to manually change it,... you might give that a try and see if it gives you anything useful.
  6. in my setup, i simply use studio monitors in the low volume situation direct from the pod hd pro x, when i move the patches to the hd500/dt50 i know what to expect and don't have to do anything more than fine tuning. it certainly doesn't sound the same... but its like listening to a cd versus listening to a live band... that's the difference to me... and an expected one.
  7. no.... i'm saying that even at low volumes the tubes are providing the poweramp.... no tubes equals no volume. in LVM the full models simulate the tube influence of volume... but it's still playing through the tubes. it is correct in the manual you cite: the full amp model (which includes the emulation of the tubes) and the analog amp (which IS the tubes... which don't particularly influence tone much at lower volumes)
  8. you have some incorrect information: there is no mode where the amp produces sound that will bypass the tubes.... there is no backup/solidstate amp built in.. the amp is 100% analog tube. the IMO part, pretty much sums that statement up... its not in any way a studio monitor device... its a guitar amp. Sorry, but i think it's obvious that it just isn't what you'd hoped for... doesn't mean its not great at what it is... certainly doesn't change your needs either... just dont think its a match.
  9. absolutely not... that's not what it is... it is a guitar amp. i'm sorry... but plugging into an amp... is very different than monitoring a studio style feed... not to mention that the volume changes our hearing perception... so simply playing at volume, and playing at low volume itself... is a very different experience. it's a guitar amp... and your attempt to use it some sort of a monitor... well that's simply not its intended use... there is no versatility in the design for that... sounds like the amp is simply not a good fit for your needs... if you need a PA/Monitor solution.... find one. don't mean for this to come off snarky... just putting it all very plainly... and from the sounds of your concerns, my opinion is that you simply have the wrong product for your needs.
  10. sounds like the output mode changes as it should... you're probably in studio mode that has the mic and air emulations... when you go L6LINK it changes to stack/combo mode (depending on your amp) this is normal... you wouldn't feed a mic'ed sound into your guitar amp... you'll probably just have to tweak separate settings for those very different uses.
  11. You're right! I forgot about the 500x not working with regular workbench... sorry dude! i'll ask around and see if I can't get some info.. no promises... :)
  12. the regular workbench software should work just fine for you then! :) that never stopped working through the pods... where are you stuck at?
  13. Unfortunately the only word i have is that they intend to make this happen. i'm only ever privvy to the smallest amount of information, and generally not able to share any specifics. I think that information above is widely assumed and not really a secret... short term the answer is you need an interface to use workbench (sorry) but the good news is that you can still update and use 2.0 at its factory settings... better than nothing.... if like me, you'd rather not spend the cash on stuff you know will have limited shelf life.
  14. are you sure its the "same thing" there has been a new version of workbench released since the original post, and it is a known limitation that this new version will not work through a pod. (just clarifying....)
  15. the midi is for use with other hardware... it will not work with your computer.
  16. i would uninstall all versions of java on your machine, and remove line6 edit... then reinstall line6 edit and it will install the correct version of java.... this sometimes clears up the issues... keep in mind that line6 edit came way before 64bit, so it probably wont work with a 64bit version of java if thats what you have installed... anyway just an idea.
  17. the XT will work, as long as you don't have dual tone patches... with an XT though you may need model packs etc... at used prices, the x3 supports dual tones and has all the model packs... i think you'll find it to be a better deal... although i do think XT's are nicely built, and may be capable of doing what you need.
  18. it cannot be done with the HD pods... (you'd have to start from scratch) you probably want an x3, they will use most of the tones that the ux2/kb37 use.... and at the very least have the same models.
  19. when dealing with licenses, very limited amount of help you can get from the user community.... i'd suggest calling: http://line6.com/company/contact/ Line6 support does not actively monitor the forums so they are unaware that you are having an issue.
  20. you can post pictures, you just have to hit the "more reply options" button to open the advanced editor.
  21. one of the other forum users, thinks its possible: http://line6.com/support/topic/3119-raw-piezo-sound/ he seems to know what he's talking about, i'm sure he'd point you in the right direction... i'm assuming that the raw piezo can be "midi" though... so this may not fit your needs.
  22. great.... but you realize that only votes on the other site will count....
  23. there are no model packs for any of the HD pods... some firmware updates added amp models.. so be sure to update to the latest.
  24. they are practically identical... just about 20% more available power... nice and all... but unless you HAVE to have dual amps alot... it may be rare that that extra 20% comes into play.
