you got the right idea.. you're just making it more complicated than it needs to be... simply use the regular 1/4" outs of the HD500 into the effects return on the vetta. done. you don't need to do anything to the vetta... it basically becomes power amp and cab. the hd500 doesn't need anything special done to it either.

somebody is getting rich... i could go to between 10 and 20 shows in 1982 vs what it cost me for 1 now. ... apparently you aren't THAT guy :D

Another new score! Fender Jaguar Blacktop HH

that's pretty much my home turf, and it must have gone fast, because i don't recall it being listed :) I don't use mine much either, but i still love it, and i'm not ready to give it up :o

Glad it worked for you, and a new cable is always a good thing to try... i usually see this issue when a rogue tone is installed and accessed.... i suspect that the issue might be the 500 tones that ship with the 500x. not because of a huge internal difference... simply because the presets were created on early firmwares and I'm not aware of any updated presets. the firmware differences can and has been an issue for some hd500 tones. anyway... just my theory... as the "hold left+power up" trick essentially resets the global settings and bypasses any disagreeable information that the last used tone may have presented.

Line 6 A/b (xps) Pedal With Jtv
TheRealZap replied to sinistralx's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
yes correct info... the line6 model number is PX2 you can find them easily... and yes, it can be used with the JTV's -
I don't think much has changed internally except the processor... so perhaps its a lingering issue... i've not heard of the issue myself... and i actually have the 500 and the pro x and use them both on OSX (latest snow mountain ostrich or whatever they call it) never had the issue... have you tried changing the digital input sample rate? i know that sometimes toggling 44.1/48 has solved issues.

I have the 500 and the pro x, no difference between them... maybe you're ears are just in a better place now? :)

there is a default cab model selected internally within the DT amps... you can't change it from the DT amp alone (you can change the default with the 2.0 upgrade VIA midi) i think that tech support must have misunderstood the question.
-
the internal processor is the only difference... none of the x models were created to get existing owners to upgrade... they are just to make it more attractive to potential new owners. I use spdif to daisy chain digitally... i can go from my 500 to my pro to my other interface and control the whole thing via midi. more because i can than because i have an actual need... but you can also use it for re-amping later.

unless someone stumbles on a 3rd party solution... it's not possible out of the box (with the original sonicport). good luck.

The presets are just to show off some of the capabilities... noone really uses them.. nor should you... the name of the preset gives you an idea and that's about it. to my knowledge the list you seek simply does not exist. the presets were not put together as some sort of ultimate formula... they were just created on the fly so that the unit didn't ship empty... in my opinion. why not try to enjoy the device more and worry less... load it up with tones that you might enjoy from http://customtone.com and dive in.

it only works *IF* the guitar already exists in the firmware... (and the internal storage is not infinite) its not as simple as just adding things in the workbench software. and they aren't about to support users customizing their firmware... in case you haven't noticed... they have a hard enough keeping up with the firmware as is.... not that they don't do a good job... but users will always have a wide range of issues, and they are easier to address from a single known firmware. as in fix it once... and you fix it for alot of users...
-
there's no need for it...usb 3.0 brings nothing to the functionality of the device.
-
that theory didn't work for the 500x..... but i like it! :D

looks like its out now: http://line6.com/podhdprox/

Advice On Choosing A Jtv Model?
TheRealZap replied to mccarticus's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
i thought i was the only one who noticed that... same headstock even! summary: the variax acoustic, doesn't feel much like an acoustic. -
that's probably right... but also his tubes still glow... means it isn't the same issue!
