  1. I had the luthier custom cut the bone nut for my string gauge and brand (i used 10-46 elixir POLYwebs, not the NANOwebs) not only did it stay perfectly in tune (the locking tuners helped with that too) but the bone made the strings ring out a little better... lifted the whole feel IMO.
  2. you can set the tuner to mute and engage the tuner.
  3. if your ux2 is a redface model (toneport) it did not come with the VST license.
  4. the guy i traded mine to has it listed on craigslist for 475$ he has no idea what he has... (traded me a 1000$ guitar for it) I updated mine to the planet wave auto trims and a bone nut.. was mint, pro setup, sunburst and complete... but i imagine that $475 would be a great price on mine, and probably a decent price for a good condition one.
  5. check the input... and also... check if they have the fx loop activated... (which they may for acoustic tones...)
  6. it's always been 100$.. the software has always been free... that's just marketing. if you are running a generation 1 variax, or and earlier than 2.0 firmware... i'd put the 100$ towards a pod xt live or pod x3 live as a way to get an interface then some... other than that.. might check ebay....
  7. It's all in your timing... it does not quantize or otherwise stop your loop or situate it to play continuously... really takes a bit of practice, but will loop seamlessly.
  8. you will never download anything to the FBV ever... it's only a controller... again... (as i said in your other post) you need a spider IV 75 or greater to access those features. as is my understanding... by all means if someone knows anything differently (I don't have a spider) speak up.
  9. Using 2 interfaces is asking for trouble... it can be done... but you lose some protections built into the hardware and specifications. mainly you have multiple hardware clocks timing things. I've done it, when i had lesser interfaces years back and no money for anything better. the project i was doing at the time was discretely dumping my old 4 track cassettes into a DAW. never did get things to line up exactly right... wasn't exactly a top tier project anyway... but i'd not do it for anything serious for sure.
  10. i use a tascam us1800 and i do both (dry via spdif) i monitor via the tascam, by simply muting the dry track, if you aren't doing any real time processing this shouldn't be a big deal for most machines.
  11. In that case, i would assume that your flash upgrade did not take properly. I'd suggest re-flashing.
  12. just a wild guess... but it probably doesn't like the symbols in your tone name... try removing the @
  13. I don't believe that you can change anything on that model. I believe that it would require the 75 watt model or greater to make those kinds of changes as well as other types of changes.
  14. well... you've not mentioned what amp... but generally you moved the direction key under the character you want to change and then twist a knob til you get the letter you want.
  15. you need to make all changes on your device... the FBV is just a dumb controller.
  16. yes reinstalling the firmware will reset the alt tunings, its the only way that works with 2.0 currently. you will however lose any custom models you've added or changes you've made. I always advise backing up your current models and allow the firmware to overwrite them all to factory... then if desired restore the backup. (this only works in like for like firmwares... meaning 2.x-2.x or 1.x to 1.x not 1.x to 2.x)
  17. i believe its as simple as selecting one of the amps and using the direction key on the unit.. maybe enable it to move? i don't know if that makes any sense... but i've done it before and it was dirt simple... just don't bother with the dual tones much.
  18. just reflash to your current firmware whatever it would be.
  19. it's not true of the 69.... but they did model the 89 pickups... because of the ability to alt tune... there really was no other guitar in the collection to approximate an 89.... like the spank does the 69 or the lester does the 59's
  20. the standard pod farm only comes with a standard set of models... you have to buy model packs to unlock everything. if you get all the model pack you end up with pod farm platinum.
