  1. pretty sure that's what the 2x12 DT50 has in it :)
  2. the changes will stay until changed again. you can't do any effects like OD directly on the amp... but you can certainly load up some marshall models.
  3. yes, they are monophonic though... one note at a time.
  4. I don't think it's likely. I could be wrong, but i think that the mobile app uses pod 2.0 technology and the model packs are XT series technology. doesn't mean they can't come up with something... just don't think the model packs as they exist would come.
  5. theres a few options in this thread: http://line6.com/support/topic/2584-hard-shell-guitar-case-for-a-jtv-59/?hl=case Phil even has a link to the exact case that ships with the USA 69 models.
  6. would probably be a great idea... however that would completely change the device.... meaning i'd expect it to be an excuse for selling pod HD700's and pod HD1000's not reviving the 500/500x (relax folks i made those models up! really... nothing to see here... these aren't the droids your looking for...)
  7. try a different usb port, a different cable, and possibly a different computer... would be the first things i'd check. you can also download the file and "flash from file" sometimes that works better.
  8. have you tried simply selecting the tuner? (of course make sure that the tuner is not muted)
  9. rest assured... silverhead is very pro update and wants improvements for everyone (as am i) i think he and i simply prefer that the expectations be managed a bit.... expecting a vague "update" is of no consequence... imagine they just updated the font in the edit window... yay.. its an update.... really... you need meat on those bones... meaning specific issues... that need addressed... and we have endless threads of add this amp that effect wishlist etc... i'm positive there will be an update (based on no real knowledge of any being worked on, just my opinion) plenty of things that could be "better" but not much actually "broken"
  10. actually you can probably make your current x3 work by "parking the knobs" basically set them all at 0, except the master. the volume changes are usually due to the digital pots detecting small vibrations and re-reading knob positions. basically use the knobs when editing save tones, and then park them... should give you the correct sound when you reselect the tone.
  11. awesome find. I checked their site earlier.... cases are real reasonable based on how the quality looks. just can't be sure what will fit in it, but you've taken care of that for us.
  12. you're not unreasonable.. although i do think it's possible that they don't have them. they just released the device and probably have their inventory tied up in production... just a guess. I also don't think it would be unreasonable on your part to ask for a complete new device, and a warranty that starts upon receipt. that's what i'd ask for in the support ticket.
  13. are you playing through your computer at the time? might not be it... but sometimes recording software with the monitoring turned on will give this result.
  14. this one is supposedly great: Hiscox STD-EG http://www.hiscoxcases.com/ not sure about availability the USA cases come from here: http://ggqualitycase.com/ although i've never found a way to actually buy one!
  15. all the FBV's get powered by the same pair... so i think the pair that needs ommitted would be the same regardless of amp... i think that space originally did this with a spider and a flextone in fact.
  16. the jist of the posts describing how to do this, is to get a standard rj45 splitter... one male/two female, and you have to snip some wires in that adapter... basically the ones that provide power to the pedal... i've asked the web dev to look into fixing old doc links, not sure if its possible... (things have been moved off the old system) spaceatl wrote it up: http://line6.com/support/user/76460-spaceatl/ you might try sending him a personal message and link him to your forum posts (for the benefit of others) i'm sure he can fill in the gaps.
  17. you can revert to any 1.7 firmware update at any time and get all those "700" model sounds you want. there has never been a forced upgrade. I disagree with you, but it's all very context dependent... meaning how you set them up and how you use them. for home recording i still use the variax 700 acoustic which has the old models then some... i just like the options, but i can certainly appreciate the improvements in the latest JTV firmware.
  18. the DT amps are still VERY useful without a pod.... especially if you set them up to your liking via midi. I personally prefer using it with a pod, because of all the capabilities.... but the DT amps are a totally solid, totally versatile standalone amp as well.
  19. i think you ought to do something besides palm muting! :D I've never seen that level of wear... but it certainly looks like you came by it honestly. I don't think i'd be concerned outside of the cosmetics of it.
  20. the XT midi cannot be programmed it is what it is... you may be able to use a learn capability of your software to make it work a little... not sure it'd be worth it... but perhaps will work for you.
  21. the variax 500, may well be close to a decade... they were released somewhere around 2003-2005. with electronics its not always how you physically treat it... sometimes it's how clean/dirty the power it's getting is... all it takes is a brownout or spike etc to lower the life expectancy.
