  1. most people like things simplified to the point of easy understanding... i'm sure there's a ton of details about ASIO that noone cares about. how about you calm down... i said that you could change it if you wanted to... you win... yay you... i still think for most people simple and easy is correct. i have no less than 4 different interfaces on my machine... and i know how to manage them... i have no idea, why you decided to drop into this resolved thread and try to start an argument, other than you like to use your interfaces differently and want the whole world to know it's possible. and now they do. again congratulations for a mission accomplished. now please stop with the insults and your attempts to turn it into some personal attack. for further guidance when posting, please review the terms of use: http://line6.com/termsofuse.html
  2. although YOU can do what you say to some degree... It makes things unnecessarily complicated. true you can use another card to play your windows stuff... but when recording you need to use the same card as both your input and output. you can do this exclusively through your recording software... if you like switching your speakers back and forth or having multiple sets... and the ASIO spec does require the same input and output device for recording... again if you want to complicate matters you can do that off to the side within your recording software... but most users want to play backing tracks or play along with youtube etc. the correct and easy way is to let the x3 become your soundcard and use it as intended as an ASIO device within your software. regardless of your apparent disagreement of my wording, this is no less correct.
  3. that would work... but you might be able to just borrow one from your printer or other usb device to test with.
  4. you wouldn't have the icon in sys pref if the drivers weren't installed... the drivers just aren't working for some reason... i'd try a different usb cable.
  5. the drivers are installed. are you using a usb hub? i've seen that happen with a hub.
  6. have you tried getting the drivers outside of monkey? http://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=5578
  7. I'd call the store as well, talk to the manager explain your situation. perhaps he can return/rebuy for you to extend your 30 days... take some of the urgency out and keep your options open for a while longer.
  8. mine works great, and i love the mags! (59K, no issues whatsoever)
  9. yes, it will play anything you can play on your computer through your outputs
  10. sorry, yes.. the 2 things have the same hardware just a different color face... and some difference in the software and licensing.
  11. the toneport GX is probably the most direct replacement.
  12. posted for a friend. located in SoCal. will ship, (you pay shipping) never gigged, near new condition.
  13. you're correct, but the full optimization within the JTV for the HD models seems to have enhanced them in 2.0, even though they are the same models.
  14. looks like a nice case, but the latches aren't TSA latches... might be important if you needed to put your instrument on a plane... i actually like the TSA latches although they do seem larger than they need to be.
  15. you generally can't use multiple interfaces (by design) i use my pod 2 ways.... i have a tascam us1800 interface, and from the pod i have analog inputs to the tascam and i also have the spdif input. i have the spdif input sending dry/unprocessed track for reference... i add 2 tracks one for each input.... much easier doing it this way because then i can keep everything on one interface... and have no issues using edit or whatever if i wanted to. if you absolutely must try to get multiple interfaces googles "aggregate devices" for your mac and it may be possible... keep in mind that you lose some sound quality and performance barriers... essentially using a single device allows the inputs and outputs to be timed correctly, and mutliple devices can sometimes bring poor results.
  16. audio track and then select the correct input. its always been that simple for me.
  17. they've been around for a while, and have changed the website a few times... sure they're legit... saw some youtube vids as well if i recall. no personal experience though.
  18. basically look for 800, 45, and plexi i think those are the marshalls.. i have trouble keeping all the fake names straight myself... i'd suggest giving the SLO (my favorite) a listen, because it'd fit in that bunch as well as the park.
  19. yeah i have the nylon string in the variax acoustic 700... not even close in my mind... maybe tonally if i did a direct recording it might resemble a nylon string... but i find that i can't play it like a nylon string and it doesn't have anywhere close to the same feel... that's why i have umteen-hundred guitars.. because they inspire in different way... but thats also why i kept my nylon string... it'd be nice if they can get it right, and as always appreciate options... just not too optimistic.
  20. i believe the file is here: http://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=5360
  21. Charlie's right though... putting the money towards a pod (even used) is probably a better deal.
  22. amazon has 1 http://www.amazon.com/Line-6-Variax-Workbench-1-5/dp/B000JKR81A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378922785&sr=8-1&keywords=variax+workbench
  23. I honestly have no idea... much like you probably did before the issue... i just plug in, dial it up and it works! maybe some other users will point out some ideas for you.
  24. seems like it would be the right one, but i can't be 100% sure...
  25. the timing on the new power supply is suspect... did you get an official line6 power adapter...? the M13 uses AC power.. most 3rd party adapters are DC this could have caused an internal issue if thats the case...
