  1. You would need to kill the dry signal going through the parallel effect in order for it to work in a parallel path. The BigSky has a Dry Kill global setting. Most other reverb pedals don't.
  2. If you had a mono effect before the stereo FX Loop block, yes, you could just use that. Using just one of the sends doesn't automatically sum to mono, but the mono block would output a dual mono signal, so the fact that you're only using one side wouldn't really matter. As far stereo effects in the Helix, they don't sum the dry signal to mono. They will blend the two side for the wet signal, though. So I guess it depends on what you're actually going for. If you want true stereo processing, as in each side is processed independently then, yes, you would want to use separate paths. You could put the split block after the stereo FX Loop and then hard pan in the split block to send the left and right side to separate paths if you wanted to go down that route.
  3. Check out pages 5.3 and 5.4 of the Advanced Guide for instructions on how to use the Auto Scan feature: https://line6.com/data/6/0a064339312b551b201bd3ec1/application/pdf/Relay%20G70%20&%20G75%20Advanced%20Guide%20(RevA)%20-%20English%20(%20Rev%20A%20).pdf I have both the G70 and G75 and have used them in a lot of different venues, and have never had any issues with dropouts.
  4. I don't think you and I are watching the same video if you think that's what he was doing most of the time... He actually does relatively little of that.
  5. If you look at pages 31 and 32 of the manual, it talks about setting the outputs for Path B. You could have Path A and B hard panned if that's what you want to do. The other way to do it would be to use one or two of the 1/4" sends as outputs for Path B. If you only wanted to send a mono signal and use the send, you could insert a Send block at the end of Path B. That would mean you could still use a mono effects loop somewhere in your signal path if you wanted.
  6. Nope... Doesn’t really matter. As with any audio application, it’s always best practice to power down the amp before powering down the stuff connected to it.
  7. Yep, that's the thing about money... It's one of the most common things in the world...
  8. I believe the 5150 iii's effects loop is line level... So line level would be where I'd start for the HXFX's main in and out. You'd want to keep the HXFX's FX loops at instrument level.
  9. That is all you should be seeing right now. The editor support hasn't been added yet. It should be added sometime within the next few months. Per the FAQs in the first post in this thread:
  10. The TimeLine can receive MIDI clock and the Helix can send it, so that would be easier than using tap tempo. As far as the El Capistan, that's a bit tricky. The Helix doesn't send a tap pulse that would work with the El Cap. There are devices like this that you could incorporate in your rig. http://www.moltenvoltage.com/products/MIDI_Delaytion_by_Molten_Voltage_-_MXR_Carbon_Copy_Analog_Delay_Controller_effect_pedal_footswitch.html
  11. The easiest way would be to use a Voodoo Lab current doubler cable and a 2.1mm to 2.5mm barrel adapter. You could just use one of the standard 9V cables that comes with the Zuma to connect those two items.
  12. If you look at pg 28 of the manual, it tells you how to get to Signal Flow View. Once in that view, you'll be able to see all 9 blocks in your preset. Turn the big knob to go to an empty block location and select the FX loop block (FX Loop 1). You'll want to move that block to where you want it in the signal flow. Any blocks before the FX loop will be in front of your amp and any blocks after the loop will be in your amp's effects loop.
  13. Open up a support ticket, and you'll be taken care of... There's a good chance Line 6 may be able to ship you a replacement, saving you a trip.
  14. Yes, if you want the HD model packs, you'd have to buy them. You aren't buying anything again, though, as they're totally different platforms.
  15. The editor portion of HX Edit isn't supported by the HX FX yet. That will be coming soon... Right now, only the preset librarian and IR loading feature work with HX FX. As far as the 4CM, it sounds like you need to insert the FX Loop block in your patch. Hooking up the cables to the send and return jacks alone won't do it.
  16. Elephant? I've trained my helper monkey to carry my Helix... "Hey, get back here you stupid monkey!"
  17. This is a cool video that Line 6 posted on their Youtube channel yesterday. Interesting seeing all the crazy things Stevic is doing as far as alternate tunings and muting strings.
  18. You will have to register it to your account to get the model packs to work. That's how the License Manager works.
  19. http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-hd500-hd500x/installing-hd-model-packs-on-hd500x500hdhd-p-r730
  20. Same thing... Everyone is working with deadline, milestones, etc. No one is forcing anyone to buy a product if they don't think it's ready.
  21. Well, if you recall, there was no editor for the Helix when it was first released either... I wouldn't say any of these releases have been rushed other than the fact that with every project that goes out the door, there's always a mad dash to get all the work done. That is just the nature of making things. It's a two-way street, you know... People always have the option to hold off buying if the editor is really important to them.
  22. The one on the left is the original editor application simply called "Helix". It has, for all intents and purposes, been discontinued. HX Edit, the one on the right, is the current editor that will continue be updated...
  23. Well, you can all rest easy... They're adding handles in the next firmware update.
  24. That article is a bit outdated as that was talking about the state of the onboard pedal and how it relates to snapshots. The state of the pedal is recalled with snapshot now, fwiw. Anyways, it doesn't have anything to do with your initial question. The controllers that are set as the defaults in the effects blocks will remain the same regardless of whether you an external pedal plugged in or not.
