What OS are you using?

I mean, it's longer than other wall warts out there, for sure, but it's also not as deep. I had my HD500 mounted on a Pedaltrain board for awhile, and I had no trouble fitting the power supply under there. It actually even fits under the Pedaltrain Metro boards pretty easily. You just have to get a little creative with connecting everything underneath. I've been building pedalboards for over 15 years now, and I've used all sorts of splitters and whatnot so I could do what I needed to do. I actually kind of prefer the DC-3g to the old Line 6 PX-2 power supplies. One thing I've found indispensable for my pedalboards are splitters like this: https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Leader-Power-Splitter-inches/dp/B01B8OG51E/ref=sr_1_29?ie=UTF8&qid=1518829672&sr=8-29&keywords=power+splitter+2+prong

It’s the same power supply the HD series uses... They were probably thinking, “hey, we have an existing power supply that’s gone through all the international testing and listing hurdles, and it will work with this, so let’s just use this one...â€

I think those guys use IRs they're comfortable with, and simply stick with them for the sake of convenience. Personally, I have bought some IRs, and I like them. I've also found when I start A/B-ing things, I can usually get a sound with the stock cabs that's pretty close to what I was getting with an IR. The trickiest thing I've found with IRs is that a lot them aren't labeled in a way that tells you what mics were used, so you're kind of guessing for a starting point with the stock cabs. Or at least I it to a point where even if they sound different, it's hard for me to label one as better. Many IRs I hear tend to sound a bit more lively and hyped to me, and I think that may be one reason why people like them. They don't necessarily sound more realistic to me, though.

I don't actually own the HXFX, so I'm just kind of guessing, but do you have other effects assigned to all the footswitches? I'm wondering if it prevents you from adding the looper block in Signal Flow view if there's not a free footswitch...

Well, there's always the official Line 6 Helix backpack... https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/HelixBP--line-6-helix-backpack

OK, this made me lol... But information overload was kind of my feeling when I briefly had the AX8. I felt like the editor was so ridiculously dense as far as the available parameters and such, that it was a totally different experience than a typical guitar effect. I mean, does anyone need 10 parameters for a wah? Actually this is just the controller... I realize there are some people who are into that sort of deep tweaking, but personally, I think it just pulls further away from the actual act of playing guitar.

Pocket Pod - Rhythmic click and noise
phil_m replied to BCodispoti's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Do you have a phone in your pocket? I get a clicking noise in my guitar signal if I have my cellphone in my pocket and have the guitar jack anywhere near that pocket. -
No, you can't do this on the M13... You can, however, do it on the new HX Effects.
-
You can put the looper block anywhere in the chain on a preset per preset basis, and the recorded loop will carry over between presets as long as you have the looper block in each preset you're going to. You can't change it's position in a single preset, though. The main difference between the M13 and the HXFX is that the looper is an actual block you have to insert in the signal chain, whereas with the 13, it was just always there.

I hear the Helix will home with anyone who pays for it...

I would think it would probably be possible to add something like a countdown timer to the Helix, but I don't think an actual clock would be an option as the Helix doesn't have an internal battery or anything to actually energize a clock so it could keep track of the real time.

Well, it is definitely true they hired those guys... I suspect that's all the more confirmation you're gonna get.

All it means is they hired those people... He made no specific promises regarding upcoming features. People are free to speculate all they want as to what they have planned. ;)

Assuming you're talking about the Mission Engineering EP1-L6, yes, either would work.
-
That's probably the best thing you can do, to be honest. You can't assume that just because someone reports something in a thread that Line 6 has all the details they need. I would encourage who's having this issue to open a ticket if they haven't. Often issues like this are actually much more sporadic than they appear, so getting as much information as possible can only help.

I'm going to guess the answer to number 1 is no... As far number 2, the answer is definitely yes.
-
I don’t think this bug is necessarily your issue. I mean, it does affect these particular reverbs, but I think your issue is more related to the fact that you’re putting the reverb before the cab block.

Whats happened to line 6?
phil_m replied to foofighterux2's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
They don't answer in what way? On the forums? These are user forums, not really support forums. If you have a specific issue you need help with your best bet is to open a support ticket here or call them at 818-575-3600 (option 2), 8am – 12pm & 1pm – 4pm Mon-Fri Pacific Time. -
I wouldn't be surprised if they've refined their methods over the years, but I can't say I notice a difference in quality between the newer and older models. I think the one thing is that the newer models they've added are just offer different sounds than what was originally available. But there's many of the original amps I still love. The Deluxe Reverb is still my most used model. FWIW, the same guy has been doing the amp modeling for Helix from the start. Although he does have some additional help now.
-
There are still two output channels. They probably have a more "mono-ized" quality to them at some settings, but on the new models, you can hear each channel doing its own thing. The stereo processing is really apparent on the Searchlights model, for instance.
-
Well, if you have the mix level at 100%, there is no dry signal by definition, so what's at the inputs is kind of a moot point. All you're hearing is the wet signal, and its stereo image is going to be whatever it is. It's not uncommon for the stereo image/spread of a stereo effect to be different than that of the input. I don't think it's modeling a limitation as much as it's making a sound design decision about how you want the stereo spread of the wet signal to behave. What's being described here is what I've seen with most reverb plug-ins, fwiw. If you send a signal that's panned hard left into a reverb mix buss, you'll hear the wet signal from the reverb on both the left and right sides. It might favor the left side more, but you still hear reverb on the right side.
-
I suspect even with H9 in the scenario you describe, there is significant crosstalk in the wet signal from one side to the other. Different manufacturers handle it differently, but I've never encountered a stereo reverb that would treat the wet signal as two discrete paths that track the separation from the input. The example above of having two mics in a space is a good explanation of what I'm talking about. I also imagine that with the Line 6 reverbs, the left and right sides of the wet signal at 100% wet are not identical.

Have you updated the firmware? If not, you need to update the firmware to 2.50 and do the factory reset procedure (hold down the two switches in the lower right hand corner while powering up) to get all the factory presets and templates to show up.

There's no way to edit Global Settings from HX Edit (other than the Global EQ), but you can back them up and restore them.
