No one is going to give specifics. Those that know can’t, but I don’t believe anyone knows an exact timeline of when something new will be released. I think you’ll see companies pushing releases out further and further now because of the current state of the supply chain in the world. I wouldn’t be worried about buying a new Helix now, no. I know there’s still plenty planned for the current lineup.

You need to download and install POD Go Edit 1.22. What firmware does it say you have installed on the POD Go itself? It displays it on the screen whenever you’re starting it up.
-
There’s no compatibility between the two. They’re two completely different modeling platforms. The best you can do is try to recreate you X3 tones using the Helix models.

Well, it’s kind of hard to offer advice if you don’t offer some sort of description… A recording would be even better. I’d say that it is possible to have various sorts of sound artifacts when changing snapshots if you’re making drastic changes, especially changes in gain, from one snapshot to another.

Well, there’s nothing you can program per bank. The banks are just ways of organizing presets. You can only program things like that at the preset level.
-
I think you might be using the term “bank” to refer to preset. You can definitely send out MIDI messages when switching presets. You can send up to six Instant Commands per preset, so, yes, you should be able to do what you want to do. The Instant Commands are the represented by lightning bolts in the Command Center. You’d typically want to have every MIDI device set to a unique MIDI channel, so you’d have to set the MIDI messages accordingly. You’ll have to look at the manuals for each to see what they need for a bypass message. I believe they all use a MIDI CC message.
-
On the HX Effects, go to Global Settings>MIDI/Tempo>MIDI PC Tx and set it to Off. This turns off the default PC message that’s sent when you select a preset.
-
The mic probably need significantly more gain than a guitar to get the level high enough for you to hear it.
-
Did you do a factory reset and restore from backup after updating? It should only have to rebuild the presets once after the update, and then it shouldn’t do it again.

The hold to delete function is a common feature with 1-button loopers. The TC Electronic Ditto, for instance, behaves the same way. The footswitches doesn’t “know” if you’re engaging a long press until it reaches the time threshold needed to engage the function, so that’s why the loop starts playing. The way to avoid this is to double tap and hold down the footswitch when stopping the loop. That will stop and erase the loop simultaneously. You also have the option of assign looper functions to footswitches in the Command Center, so you don’t have to use the looper as a 1-switch looper.

Is it rebuilding the presets?

Is Monkey Supported for Mac OS These Days?
phil_m replied to JScotty317's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
It always is. I could kind of see them releasing a 64-bit version of Monkey in some ways, as there are products people can still buy new that use Monkey, however, from what I've heard for Line 6 folks, it would be a pretty monumental task just because of the way Monkey is written and all the legacy connections. The thing is that Macs are still represent a minority of the computers out there, and even for a music-oriented company like Line 6, a minority of their users are on Macs. So you have a small sliver of their overall user base who are affected by the lack of 64-bit support for these applications, and it's not like adding it opens up additional revenue streams for them. It would be a nice thing to do, for sure, but unfortunately, I don't think that's enough justification for them. -
I honestly have never really seen all that many complaints from the hardware with the JTV line. For the most part, the hardware from the Korean version is identical to the US versions. I think the pickups on my 69 sound great. The US does come with HipShot locking tuners compared to the Korean version, but again, I can’t say I’ve read complaints about the tuners over the years. If you’re as unhappy with it as you say you are, it just sounds like it’s not the guitar for you. I can’t imagine Line 6 is going to be able to change all the things you mention, some which are basic to the guitar make and build, for you to be happy. Not every guitar is going to appeal to every player. Are you not able to return the guitar?
-
There is no such link. What’s the item?
-
No, that setting controls whether or not the default PC message associated with each preset is sent out when you load the preset. MIDI messages assigned in the Command Center will still be sent out regardless of its setting, but if it’s turned on, the default PC message will override other ones you have programmed in the Command Center.

They f-ed up by not making acoustic guitars? How long do you expect a company to support a piece of electronic gear after it’s been discontinued? No company is going to support something that’s discontinued in perpetuity. It’s not like the stuff can’t be used without the editors, either. Line 6 still has updated drivers for the X3 Live, so it’s still possible to use it as a recording interface and a Variax interface for Workbench. Jeep, Toyota, Harley, etc., certainly don’t have parts for all their models going back decades now. It’s just that there enough of those things around that are OEM parts available still.
-
Are you sure you have the MIDI PC Tx parameter set correctly? It’s the only thing I could see it being, and the behavior you’re describing is exactly what would happen if it were set to On.

So tell us how you really feel… I have to say I’ve never played a guitar where the frets actually hurt my fingers. Are you talking about the ends of the frets? I really like the neck on my 69US model, which is the same shape and profile as the Korean models. It sounds like your guitar is probably in need of a setup, and it might not have been stored in the best conditions before it was sold to you.

On the HX Effects, go to Global Settings>MIDI/Tempo>PC Send and set it to Off.

Is Monkey Supported for Mac OS These Days?
phil_m replied to JScotty317's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
The last update for the original Workbench was released in 2012… Monkey has seen more updates because it’s used by other stuff; but I don’t think it’s necessarily Line 6 slowly abandoning stuff as much as it just being made obsolete by OS changes. -
You just need to open a support ticket. CS will resolve it for you.
-
What program are you sending MIDI clock from? I think the issue is that whatever program you’re using isn’t sending MIDI clock until you hit a song start message. MIDI clock is just a constant stream, and the Helix will respond to it as long as it’s there.

POD Farm isn’t an XT Live editor. That would be Line 6 Edit. It’s not going to work with Big Sur, though. It’s a 32-bit application, and MacOS doesn’t support that.
