  1. Cool jamming!! How are you currently recording audio?
  2. You can hook your monitors up to your POD HD, connect the POD HD to your PC via USB, and everything will come thru your monitors. You can record the POD HD directly over USB to your DAW. The PC sounds (youtube, Media Player, ect..), will not record. (But you can load an audio file into your DAW as a backing track and haveit in the final mix if you want) If you've never connected your POD HD to your PC, download and run the newest Monkey to get the drivers and HD updates. Sorry, I can't think of any specific youtube channels off hand.
  3. The 5" would suit your needs. As for the neighbors, I guess it depends how loud you crank up!! The 8's aren't going to be louder than the 5's at the same listening level, it just that you have more breathing room. As for lifting them up, if are referring to the physics of how they behave in the room for recording/mixing, I wouldn't worry about that for bedroom jamming at all. But typically these would be on a desk, shelf, or stand. If they are going to be siting on the floor, I personally would not even get studio monitors. Do you have a hi-fi or bookshelf stereo already? For just jamming that may suit you needs just fine.
  4. All 5 speakers are always on. Crossovers determine which frequency range goes to which speakers. The guitar in is expecting an Instrument Level signal, the aux-in is Line Level, so for processors you will definitely want to use the aux in. Also, the aux is stereo in, the guitar-in is mono. For regular stomp boxes you would use the guitar in. Hope that helps.
  5. Yeah, I hope they add some PC connectivity. Recording would be nice, but I would be happy with just flash functionality at this point, those Bluetooth updates are a beast!! I don't have the amp, but have the FX100, and I have to say, the tone matching did better than I expected. And being able to use more than one of the same effect is awesome.
  6. For your bedroom XLR vs 1/4" really doesn't matter, it's more of an issue if your are running cables longer distances. XLR is technically better, assuming the monitor has balanced inputs, but for you bedroon you would not here the difference. I would definitely get a pair active monitors, especially if you use stereo effects. I have not personal experience with the monitors you listed, but either of those look decent for 5" drivers, they're both bi-amped, so that's a good. Also, I would personally go with an 8" driver if you can afford it, especially if you plan on eventually recording and mixing. (you will thank yourself later ;)) These are 8" instead of 5", and M-Audio has a decent repudiation. http://www.thomann.de/gr/m_audio_bx8_d2.htm
  7. Never mind, I reread you did update the amp before, hopefully it was just a bad flash like you said.
  8. I feel dense for not suggesting that. They did recently release a new firmware in April. If you never flashed it, there was likely an older firmware on it. http://line6.com/support/forum-70/announcement-42-update-your-amplifi/
  9. There's a tube drive stomp too, not to mention a lot of the amp are modeled after tube amps. The preset names typically resemble a song the tone might work well with, or what style of playing, and then towards the end there's some wacky ones.
  10. If you just got it I would try to exchange it. Or give line6 I call or submit support ticket. http://line6.com/company/contact/
  11. The FX100 doesn't link to the AMPLIFi 75/150. It's basically the AMPLFIfi in pedal board form with no power amp or speakers. Tines loaded to Custometones can not be part of the AMPLIFi cloud, some models from the xt and X3 are not on the AMPLIFi. Also there are things you can do in the signal chain on the AMPLIfi that you cannot do on the xt or X3, like multiple instances of the some type of effect.
  12. So even if you pair it to the iPhone, and do not pair it to something else, and turn it later you have to do the song and dance again?
  13. Try different USB ports. Even though USB 3.0 is backwards compatible, I've seen some users reporting issues with USB 3.0 ports.
  14. Just to eliminate a few simple things, have you tried another USB cable? Also try different USB ports. I know you said you updated the drivers, but just for clarification if you run the Monkey you have green ticks? btw, which OS?
  15. If you can see AMPLIFi under Bluetooth on the iPhone select Forget This Connection. Power cycle the AMPLIFi and search for new Bluetooth Devices and press the Bluetooth button on the AMPLIFi. Not sure if this will solve your issue, but this is what happened to me after pairing with a Kindle and then trying to pair with the iPad.
  16. Yikes, hope everything's ok. Can you see UX2 as a device in Mixcraft? Just to be clear, you are using the headphones out of the UX?
  17. danperry, Did you run the newest version of the Monkey?
  18. My guess would be they will add it to the drop down list soon.
  19. MIDI data does not contain any audio. If you are just sending MIDI data to your DAW, you should be able to run the USB directly to the pc. If you are sending audio via USB, that's an entirely different scenario. If it is the audio you want to capture run your synth's analog outs to the other Audiophile's other 2 rca in's (I'm pretty sure that card can do 4 channels). You could capture the audio via the Audiophile and MIDI data via USB (assuming your synth sends MIDI over USB) simultaneously.
  20. Cool!! Glad you got it working and it wasn't a chipset error problem.
  21. Not sure how you are connecting analog into S/PDIF?? But if you want to use you Audiophile, either use the UX2's S/PDIF out to your Audiophile's S/PDIF or run the L/R analog outs of the UX2 into the Audiophile's analog ins. In Mixcraft you will want to select the Audiophile as your device. Make sure yor armed track is set to receive stereo, I do not use Mixcraft so I don't know the specifics. Also make sue you have your have the most recent drivers for your Audiophile.
  22. There is an updated version of the app, I would install it, and make sure your AMPLIFi has the most recent firmware. The only other thing I can think of is if it is changing from tone matching, I doubt that's your issue, just throwing it out there.
  23. I would stream some music to it and see how it sounds. Or connect an MP3 player directly to it with the Aux in.
