  1. Zap, I always wondered about the Power Pack, wasn't it included with one of the firmware updates way back when? I purchased the Gearbox Gold bundle years ago, so when I upgraded to PF2 everything is unlocked anyway. +1 to Zap, there is no difference in the Software between POD Farm 2.5 Standard or Platinum other than the available models/effects. (just don't purchase the i-Lok version).
  2. For POD 2.5 Farm plug-in or Standalone with another USB Audio interface all the processing is done on the computer. If you are recording with the PODxt Pro as an interface and sending the wet to your DAW all the processing is done on the Pro. If you don't need the money it could serve as a pack up or perhaps used in another location, you can have the model packs simultaneously authorized on up to four devices.
  3. Check out this thread http://line6.com/support/message/223280
  4. The Position parameter can be controlled with an external pedal. The Icon of the pedal is above two parameters, heel and toe, these can be used to limit the Position range when using an external pedal. For example, if you only wanted the pedal to only sweep between 25% to 83%, or whatever other range you want to use. You can use one of these directly with the PODxt http://line6.com/footcontrollers/compatibility.html Or other MIDI CC pedals/controllers with Gearbox.
  5. You do not mention what device you have. As for the PODxt series, no, you can not change the Bender effect to a wah, but there are wah effect in the xt series.
  6. Nice!! I just came here to post this very article!!
  7. If you purchased the the model packs then yes, and you will not need the xt Pro plugged in as a dongle. If any of the model packs were bundled with the hardwae, you would need the xt Pro recognised via USB as a dongle. For example, the PODxt Live came with the FX Junkie, so purchasing PF 2.5 standard would give you FX Junkie, but not without the PODxt Live plugged in. Just make sure you purchase the hardware independant version, NOT i-Lok.
  8. Yes, I was thinking Flash Mem. If you have 1.x you will not have USB functionality. The USB firmware I believe is bundled with the driver and not a separate download.
  9. Are you by chance launching POD Farm 2.5 instead of POD Farm 1.12? POD Farm 2.5 is free to download and may run in a free demo mode, but requires a license.
  10. +1 to Toneman What OS are you using?
  11. +1 to BigChas52 Reaper will have you laying down tracks in no time. They have a decent forum too if you need help. And you can always youtube Reaper tutorials. And the PODxt Live is a great interface to use with Reaper. As for insults, maybe after I get a little more caffeine I will think up some clever jabs. ;)
  12. FWIW, you can upgrade to POD Farm 1.12 for free (not POD Farm 2.5, that is a paid upgrade). It will not change your tone, but technically it replaces Gearbox for the Toneports. Not sure how far along Audacity has come since I used it years ago, but IMHO I would look into a different DAW. Audacity still does not support ASIO (for licensing reasons), which is really what you should be using, unless you jump through hoop to compile it during your install. The info should be on their site. Reaper is a popular choice, it is free to try, and at ~$60 it offers a lot of bang for your buck. IMHO it is pretty powerful for that price, of course you may introduce a bit of a learning curve.
  13. If you are sure it is firmware version 1.12, you will need to flash with MIDI using a MIDI to USB cable. Many users use M-Audio Uno, which is also recommended by Line6. Is it possible you are seeing POD Farm 1.12?
  14. I would back up your patches and reflash it.
  15. It should be in Logic's Audio Preferences, I don't have a Mac, but it might just be listed as UX1. btw, if you run Monkey do you have green ticks for drivers, firmware and PF2.5?
  16. It is pretty much compatible with any MIDI device that has a 5-pin MIDI connection.
  17.   (at the video, not toneman's impaired hearing)
  18. I think they are levels of a$$hattery. :P The more dots, the higher level of a$$hattery you have achieved. Either that or they are what used to be stars in the old forum based on points.
  19. Reflashing is a factory reset to X fersion of the firmware. Whatever you do, do not roll back to anything 1.x because you will lose USB and need to reflash via MIDI!! But I highly doubt rolling back to an earlier firmware will help you.
  20. 1. Not sure. Are you selecting UX2 as your device? 2. In the mixer view from the drop downs select the mic for one Input and Instrument for the other. 3. Yes, go to the Line6 Audio MIDI control panel and select the appropriate inputs, this will pass the unprocessed signal to your DAW.
  21. The reason I ask is most DAW's have a metronome. I personally do not prefer to record the metronome, I'd rather have a simple drum pattern as a click track. If you really wanted to you could convert the output of you i-Phone to an XLR connection, making sure to keep you levels low, then you would be recording the metronome. Or you could import/record any metronome to its own track.
  22. I would go with the standalone hardware independent version. With i-Lok it is plug-in only, the standalone can be used in real time with most USB Audio interfaces that are ASIO / Core Audio and as a plug-in. The standalone can also be authorized on up to 4 computer/devices simultaneously.
