  1. I can't seem to find the tone file. Can you upload it to the thread?
  2. If you want to use the PODxt for effects only connect it to the Jazz King effects loop. Guitar>>Front of AMP>>Effects Send>>PODxt Input>>PODxt Left (mono) Out>>Effects Return. When building your patches in the PODxt do not use any amps models. This will give the Jazz King's preamp color then go through the PODxt's effect before hitting power amp.
  3. Sounds like it could be a USB issue. First run Monkey to make sure everything is current, if that doesn't help check out this doc. http://line6.com/support/topic/217-usb-audio-troubleshooting/
  4. Just for clarification, when you use the Toneport you are connecting your headphones and/speaker to the Toneport? Did you previously have this working with no issues on a different computer? Check out this doc: http://line6.com/support/topic/217-usb-audio-troubleshooting/
  5. Did you record the dry track for the mic? If so you will need to add the POD Farm 2.5 plug-in the the track. This of course assumes you have the PF 2.5 plug-in. If you recently purchased a black faced POD Studio, this would be the case.
  6. +1 to toneman. Sorry to hear about the tornado. The best amp is the one that works best for your needs and budget, which a lot depends on your application, gigging, recording, noodling, ect.
  7. +1 to Zap!! Do not, not heed his advice. He doesn't not know what he is talking about!! (double negatives intentional) But seriously, what workflow are you trying to achieve?
  8. +1 to BigChas And POD Farm 2 comes bundled with a new Pod Studio.
  9. What does the Line6 Audio-MIDI control panel show? In Windows control panel it will only show the stereo out, the 8 in's should be available in your DAW. Also, ASIO4ALL should only be used as a last resort.
  10. Just for clarification, which POD do you have?
  11. I remember those rants, I think it was more than one user too. I know I have controlled the Gearbox plug-in and PF1 plug-in, but it was indirectly through Reaper's MIDI learn. I was able to successfully route any MIDI surface controller from my Yamaha S90es to any Gearbox or PF parameter, but I never tried to use it to control Gearbox as an editor.
  12. I know you can not directly send MIDI commands to the X3 Bean, but what I wonder is if you can control Gearbox with MIDI, in essence indirectly controlling the X3.
  13. Did your KB37 should come with Reason Limited? There should be some decent virtual instruments included. But I have no personal experience with Reason. I would suggest goggling virtual instruments and sound modules, it may seem overwhelming at first, but you will learn much. The are so many choices ranging from free to thousands of dollars.
  14. Cool!! Glad you got it sorted out. btw, dig the your new avatar!!
  15. +1 to brue58ski MIDI has no sound, it is all numerical data. Typically for keyboards it will indicate, what ket is pressed, the velocity, when it is released, ect... That data is then rendered into sound via sound modules/software.
  16. Trying running it without the computer hooked up. Also try with headphones. Other than no sound, does it appear to be powering up properly? Can you switch patches, change parameters, ect...?
  17. +1 to Zap. FWIW, I run the MIDI from my digital piano to the PC while using the UX2 as my audio interface into Reaper on Win7 x64 without issues.
  18. You should be able to do this, but you will want to keep you effects mono.
  19. Does it show any greyed out effects / amps? If not, you can try downloading POD Farm 1 to open the tone. It might load all effects/amps and grey out the ones you do not have. Or post a link to the tone and I can take a look tonite or tomorrow.
  20. +1 to phil. But the PP does have a CD/MP3 in that you can connect your pc's out to, or an MP3 player, which will allow you to jam along to youtube and/or MP3's.
  21. Definitely sounds like a connection issue. I currently cannot view your photos (dropbox blocked at my current location) so not sure what your adapters look like. Can you hunt down a set of cable like these? http://www.zzounds.com/item--HOSCPR20
  22. What does FX-1 thru FX-8 mean? I honestly do not know. But I will try to find out because now it is going to bug me!! Not sure what the difference is off the top of my head, but passed on the name my guess is the Dingo Tron it is a little more synth-like, I will try it tonite if a get a chance. However, if you have a UX2 it probably game with the FX Junkie. Try running the License Manager to authorize it and then you should be able to use those effects. As for adding on Model packs, only you can make that choice, the nice thing is you can return them within 30 days for a full refund if you do not like them.
  23. Run the Monkey to make sure you have the most recent drivers, firmware and POD Farm. Make sure you computer has all its updates. Snaps, crackles, and pops, white noise burst and dropouts are usually an interruption in the USB bitstream, unfortunately it can be caused by a ton of things. Check out this doc: http://line6.com/support/topic/217-usb-audio-troubleshooting/
  24. To transfer your patches without a computer you would need to manual edit each patch. The software is easy enough, you would use Gearbox and save the patches from your Pro as a bundle then upload the bundle to your xt, loading a bundle will over write all the patches in the xt. (You can also save tone files to your computer and load them individual) You will likely need to update the drivers and possibly the flash memory. To get started download and run the Line6 Monkey. A word of caution, if you purchased the PODxt Pro used with extra Model Packs already loaded, you will loose them when you run the Monkey. If you have Model Packs the you purchased you have nothing to worry about.
