  1. It really depends on how you plan to use them. But if you will mostly be seating at your computer, nearfields will be just fine. Nearfield monitors typically have a smaller "sweet spot" closer to the monitors that would be optimal for mixing. That's not to say a decent set can not be used to fill a room with music. Mid/farfield monitors are design more to throw the sound further.
  2. Is you PC an AMD machine? If so try removing the USB filter, it is usually bundled with the Catalyst software.
  3. Try searching your Mac for the files. On PC both 32 and 64 bit vst install to the same folder by default. Line6 rarely monitors these forums, you can give them a call or open a ticket. http://line6.com/support/tickets/
  4. You should be able to rename the patches in HD Edit and then send them to the POD HD.
  5. These are my monitors. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LSR4328Ppak/ They suit me fine for music, as for gaming, I guess it would be ok if you don't mind not having 5.1 surround. My current guitar amp is a Fender M80 Chorus Combo 2 X12. You might want to see if you can download a manual for the Denon.
  6. Not sure what type of inputs it has, but if they are not line level you would just need to be careful with the levels so you don't damage the Denon's input or speakers. But many users have reported success using their HiFi system to monitor their UX. I did this with a cheap bookshelf stereo with a PODxt until I could afford decent monitors. In the meantime you should be able to connect your PS3 to your PC speakers with something like this: http://tinyurl.com/female-RCA-to-TRS-1-8
  7. Do you mean Line6 Monkey? If so, have you tried different USB cables and ports?
  8. Glad you got it sorted out!! Did you not have you speakers or headphones connect directly to the UX??
  9. I would try the Metal Shop add-on. If you do not like it, you can get a full refund within the first 30 days. http://line6.com/modelPacks/metal.html I personally have never been a fan of the custom tones, especially for hi gain. I would recommend building from the ground up.
  10. The i-Lok POD Farm will not run as a standalone, it will only run as a plug-in.
  11. What POD Farm 2.5 license did it come with, Hardware Independent or i-Lok?
  12. I do not see a pic attached, but it could be due to the computer I'm on at the moment. What DAW are you using?
  13. You are correct. But I have seen a few users in the past report they could not get desirable input levels with their mic and had success by adding a preamp. Of course you would need to careful with output level of the preamp.
  14. Are you looking for the factory presets or presets you created? If you are looking for presets you created they should be on your HDD unless you deleted them during the upgrade, search for .l6t files to find what directory they are in. If you are looking for factory presets they should come with the POD Farm 1 or 2 download.
  15. Results may vary. You would be better suited with a UX1 or UX2 as they have mic inputs. Or you could use a mic-preamp.
  16. Hopefully your work around won't suck up your 10 lifetime authorizations. It can be reset by Line6 by calling or submitting a support ticket. I would definitely submit a ticket now if you see the work around is counting against your 10.
  17. I would try a new cable. If you unplug the cable from the guitar it is very typical to get static, especial with high gain. What if you unplug the cable entirely from the POD? If the noise goes away, that would suggest it is your cable.
  18. Yes, can record Line 1 and 2 as one stereo track. But to add the mic it would need to be a separate take. But if you are asking can you capture Line1 and 2 as one track while simultaneously capturing the mic with the UX then the answer is no.
  19. Unfortunately you can only capture 2 inputs simultaneously. And if you are using the UX2's Line-In's than you are restricted to the Line-In's only. As for the sends, it is worded slightly different depending on if you have POD Farm 1 or 2, but in POD Farm's mixer view you can chose what is sent to your DAW. I typically use sends 1-2 for the unprocessed signal and sends 3-4 for the POD Farm Tone. That way I can add the POD Farm plug-in to the dry track post processing with the wet track to remind me what I was going for. Also, I haven't used Cubase in a long time, but vst typically (always??) implies a plug-in.
  20. Just to clarify. If you run Monkey you have green ticks? License Manager shows the Pack Authorized for the UX? Do you by chance also have POD Farm 2 installed? It can sometimes trip up the license manager, even if you have a license for both. Have you tried completely uninstalling POD Farm and using a fresh download outside of Monkey? Is there another computer you can try this on?
