  1. You would use the analog outs. But the algorithms for PF 2.5 are the same as PF 1, but you do get a more flexible signal chain (up to 10 effects in any order per chain, total of 20). To Zaps point, with an xt or X3, you don't have to worry about computer glitches.
  2. You could try the Bender. But it doesn't track that great and is monophonic.
  3. Do you have a new KB37 POD Studio (black faced) or older Toneport (red faced)?
  4. Yes you can clip the input, and what you are doing already with an external stomp or guitar's volume are probably the easiest remedies. But if you do not hear any clipping in your recordings, I wouldn't worry about it. If you capture a dry signal in your DAW you ,might be able to tell by the wave form. btw, POD Farm doesn't have any input faders, unless you are referring to the plug-in, but the plug-in.
  5. Run Monkey to update everything (green ticks for all). Make sure you are using ASIO Line GX as your device in your DAW.. Post back with results.
  6. The 1/4 are line level, so you might need a mic preamp, and if you have condenser mics you would definitely need something to supply phantom power. While you are experiencing the issue gently wiggle the cable where it connects to the XLR socket. Also work the pot min to max. Does one or the other make the issue worse?
  7. Have you tried the 2 mics in different channels or something that is known working on other channels in i2/6? Also check all your connects, especially where mics are connect to cables. If you can access the pots you could try a quality contact cleaner. Hopefully it's not a bad connection in the hardware like a cold solder joint. You might also try an XLR to 1/4 inch adapter to try an isolate the issue.
  8. Is this from a mic input? Sounds like a bad cable, mic or dirty pot.
  9. 1) That's probably not good. 2) That's just one of those things when the simplest things do not come to mind.
  10. Just for the record, you can not change settings on your X3 with POD Farm. The POD Farm that comes with the X3 is only for the plug-in within a DAW. To visually change settings on the X3 you would use Gearbox.
  11. Yeah if you could post or link to the clips that would be helpful.
  12. Cool!! Glad you got it sorted. No apologies need, the community enjoys helping people get on with their gear.
  13. I would open a support ticket, if you purchased it new and the unit was registered for the 1st time this year, you are entitled to POD Farm 2.5. If however you purchased it used, and it was first registered prior to Oct 2009, that is the issue. http://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html
  14. When did you first register it? Are you signing in to License Manager with the same account it is registered to? Is the UX connect via USB?
  15. I currently can not see the pics from where I am, but unless you purchased a POD Studio (black- faced)that comes bundled with the POD Farm 2 license or your purchased the license separately, you are not entitled to PF2 for free. You can however use POD Farm 1.12
  16. As BigChas points and and you are already experiencing, is the sim on sim confuddlement. Since you are accustomed to a pedalboard going into the front of your amp, if you are able to disable the amp and cab sim on the FPP, then you would essentially be using the FPP in place of your pedal board, but with the convenience of calling up your patches. So basically the FPP would function as stomps and effects into the front of your amp.
  17. I would run the Monkey to make sure you have green ticks.
  18. Also make sure sure you POD Studio is connected, if it came with a PF2 license it needs the UX as a dongle.
  19. Came across these: http://line6.com/support/thread/49594 http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jun04/articles/qa0604-2.htm
  20. Is the X3 also connect via USB to use Gearbox? I'm assuming you have another spdif source that works fine with the EMU?
  21. Do you have other programs running in the background?
