  1. Hey Dennis, No problem, glad it know makes a little more sense and hopefully it won’t be too long before v3.0 hits the bricks and the issue is fixed. I didn’t particularly search for “lag” or “lagging”. I just seemed to recall seeing something about unresponsive metering and that was it, so not “your bad” really, especially when it’s not obvious. Also mention of the “tunah” might have made you think it was another one those posts from “spikey” asking for a tuner in the editor :-) Happy to assist.
  2. Hi, Check this thread, particularly the reply from “qwerty42” - it may be a similar thing. Hope this helps/ makes sense.
  3. Hey, everyone has to start somewhere, even if the Helix looks like the flight deck of the Starship Enterprise. When there are things you aren’t sure about you can ask in here and usually get pointed in the right direction pretty quickly. You won’t be made fun of when you genuinely don’t know, but it’s usually best to check out the Helix Owner’s Manual thoroughly before falling into the trap of asking about something that is already mentioned in there. Have fun - there’s not much you can damage. The software may get screwed up occasionally but externally the thing is built like a tank.
  4. Doh! - I should have known - I actually have that pack and it contains a "Position Info" jpg image which shows just that.
  5. As noted by “rd2rk” in the post above, the Impulse Response associated with that preset isn’t available in the expected slot. The person who posted the preset to Customtone left this information in the description of the preset. I have highlighted the required IR in bold red text, but whether it is an Ownhammer, 3 Sigma or any other IR creator is not stated. You could swap that for something similar or even the MESA cab in Helix, although it may not sound exactly the same. Plus if you don’t have a Jackson with active pickups it will be different. These things are never what you expect them to sound like - this has been discussed at length in this and many other forums. “Sig Chain - JACKSON (active PuP's) -HELIX- 2 x HEADRUSH 108's. MESA BOOGIE 4x12 1b I.R. 4 snaps- PHASEY CLN, CLEAN ECHO, DIRTY ECHO and DIRT. uses 2 amps REV GEN RED (dirt) and PLACATER CLEAN (clean) good for almost all 80's Anthrax. (heavy , coherent and yet,... it still chuggs). \m/“ Hope this helps/makes sense.
  6. I don’t know if it’s related, but there is a discussion here about HX Edit failing to open.
  7. Good idea, although you may need one for every occasion, especially the “update bricked my Helix”. That’s real regular. ;-)
  8. Situations like this are usually due to a software glitch and reinstalling the firmware may well fix it. First try the suggested Reset options in the post above from “SaschaFranck”. Also, it’s a big help when posting a request for these sort of issues to provide information about your computer and operating system. It helps to know what we’re dealing with. Also what firmware you are updating from and to. O.K. To save having to type the same thing again, I recommend that you check this thread to see if that helps. This is for a Mac Click on this link. Or click on this link to see my advice about a Windows PC. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  9. He, he, he - it was bound to happen! I haven’t taken my medicine and I was completely unsupervised- the nurse was out of the cell. Inevitable really. TLDR. ;-) I just wish the voices would stop - they keep asking when firmware 4.0 is due for release - probably about the same time as me.
  10. This says that's not going to happen! Hope that clears that up.
  11. It's certainly not a secret over on the Facebook group, where if you type "Polyphonic Pitch" into the search box, it bring up lots threads - especially from people seeking confirmation of it being in the next Firmware. Keep in mind the fact that it will probably eat a lot of the DSP in Helix, which is probably why many people on the FB group will be buying a dedicated unit like the POG or Drop to patch into their Helix hardware. When you first asked about this, I genuinely thought you knew and were simply asking as a "joke" - hence my remark which has been interpreted as sarscam in certain quarters, but was simply my feeble attempt at humour. ;-)
  12. To clarify the comments about poly pitch effects. That "someone from Line 6" that you mention is Eric Klein (Chief Product Design Architect at Yamaha Guitar Group, Inc. / Line 6 / Ampeg) - who was replying to the comment posted by "TheBoyWithDog" who said "A DigiTech drop model has been confirmed for 3.0..." Digital Igloo's response was: "No it hasn't. All we've said is poly." It's quite apparent from that statement that poly will be in the new firmware, just NOT a DigiTech drop model. The thing about polyphonic pitch shifting is no secret and was mentioned to be in the pipeline a long time back. Here's some additional evidence of Poly effects in v3.0 firmware - screen grab from the "Line 6 Helix Family User Group OFFICIAL and ORIGINAL" Please note specifically the comment from Phil Miller, who is a Line 6 Beta Tester and posts on this forum as "phil_m". There is a further comment from "Peter Hamm" another Beta Tester who is also known to post here.
  13. Wait... Does this mean you didn’t bother to read the thread - or the threads on FB and TGP, where this stuff has been gone over endlessly?
  14. Yep, sure is - watch Sean Halley do that very thing in this old video.
  15. Thanks for the input Eric. It feels a little bit like the "wastelands" in here waiting for information any on progress.
  16. Hi Scott, Not sure about the popping in your loop unless you are using an unfiltered mains power supply. Use a filter on your power to clean it up. Regarding the reverb dropout it seems this is a known issue and is due to be fixed. For some reason after an unknown length of time it simply stops responding. See similar comment and reply here: Hope this helps makes sense.
  17. Regarding Helix Native and processor usage Digital Igloo said on the FB Helix group. “Produced a new track this past weekend. At least two dozen instances of Helix Native.” In another comment on FarceBuck regarding HXN and the “dark horse”, someone said that it appeared “Helix Native had been thrown under the bus”. In reply, Eric stated - that was not so, plus he was a daily user of HXN. I guess Native, using your computers processing power, just doesn’t need this “feature”. O.K. From reading all this other stuff, DI also made this remark regarding his mentioning of “Blues Laywers”. “Just that the fun new models would likely raise an eyebrow or two during a blues gig. AS INTENDED.” I would think that must indicate some damn fine replication of a classic blues rig - good enough to get the lawyers sniffing around. Furthermore, it would seem a certainty that polyphonic pitch shifting is in there - judging from a comment made by “phil_m” and comments about the DSP power allocation/stacking etc. were brushed aside by “Peter Hamm”. Surprisingly neither of these beta testers have posted any insights here. Mmm... “silverhead” is conspicuous by his absence also. Dunno why, seems their NDAs are no longer in peril right now. Anyhow v3.0 can’t be too far off now, or we will all be flogging a dead “dark horse”.
  18. Hi Alex, When I watched the video, I though it was the weirdest thing. Then something occurred to me. With Helix you can map any parameter to any controller. For example, you could have the foot pedal change the feedback rate of a delay. You can do this quite easily by pushing the “Learn” button while sweeping the expression pedal from heel to toe. Check that you haven’t inadvertently pushed the “Learn” button while you were doing something else? Try a Factory Reset by restarting your LT while holding down FS 5&12 which will clear all setlists, clear IRs and return to System defaults - you did make a backup of all your stuff, didn’t you? Hope this helps/makes sense.
  19. As nobody from Line 6, their Ambassadors or Beta Testers, appears to want to chime in to this thread to clarify some things, and everybody else cannot be bothered to check what has been posted about this stuff elsewhere (at least 6 days ago. - Yes, I know some folks are FaceBook averse). Here’s what DI says about the HX Stomp and blocks etc. Oh, yeah, and in another post, Eric also pointed out that the “dark horse” thing will not be included in HX Native. Hope this helps/makes sense
  20. Fabled list? The unicorns stole it! Cheap and easy solution that works for me, and many others, is the inexpensive M-Audio expression pedal. So low priced you could have several for the price of one Mission pedal - plus it does the job exactly the same. Downside: Plastic, not metal case, although quite resilient. https://m-audio.com/products/view/ex-p I have 2 hooked up to my floor model and they’re used every day. There were discussions here - no fables though And here Plus this one And finally
  21. Here ya go - a full list of reset options for you to try - you will lose all your presets (you did make a backup, didn’t you?) See if one of these can breathe some life into your LT - they very rarely die totally. Reset Options Helix Floor/LT Button Combination Description 2 LED light Fun 3 & 4 Test Mode 5 & 6 Global reset 7 & 8 Reset setlists to factory, Keep IRs 8 & 9 Reset setlists to factory, Clear IRs 9 & 10 Reset setlists to factory, Global reset, Clear IRs 10 & 11 Upgrades existing presets to latest format 11 & 12 Clear current preset 5 & 12 Clear setlists, clear IRs, Return system settings to default 6 & 12 Safe boot mode To use Reset Options: Power off the Helix Hold the desired button combination Power on the Helix Release the button combination Please note: Buttons are numbered from top left to bottom right.
  22. I would think that he did, as that is the method that I described in detail in my reply.
  23. Now, that’s an unexpected reaction. You obviously have no idea how much work would have been involved in putting that resource together. Well, maybe you’ll be able to trawl through the Internet and find all those missing descriptions for yourself. The “https://helixhelp.com” web site has had a great many commendations from the users on here - right back from it’s inception in 2016. Good luck finding all that “missing stuff”.
  24. Hi, You really are new, aren't you? Go here, and read this. https://helixhelp.com/models/ Have fun Hope this helps.
