Not sure whether this is possible but I thought it was worth asking... In Command Centre I have my snapshots assigned to the bottom row of switches. It would be really handy to have a couple of gain blocks set up, one at -2dB and one at +2dB, which I could engage using switches in the top row if I find myself too loud or too quiet in a song. Is it possible to have these independent of their status in the snapshots? For example, let's say I begin the song on my rhythm snapshot and find the drummer starts getting excited (as they do), so I engage the +2dB gain stomp, is there a way to set it up so that it stays on when I switch to another snapshot? I hope that makes sense!

I've just updated my Helix floor to 3.11, restored from backup etc and just found that I can't rearrange presets in a setlist with HX Edit. I can still do it manually on the unit itself, but it's a bit of a pain as I have a gig tonight. Is anyone else having this problem? Edit: It's working now- I mustn't have restarted HX Edit after updating. Doh!

So, I've been having this issue for a while (since prior to 3.01) which I thought was a known bug involving skipped presets when scrolling presets using the Preset Up and Down footswitches. However, this bug has been fixed and I'm still having problems. I have my Helix set up for live use with snapshots. In all my presets I've made Footswitch 1 'Next Preset' and Footswitch 5 'Previous Preset.' I have this annoying problem where one press of Footswitch 1 will jump two presets (ie, it will take me from 01A to 01C with one press). It does it randomly and it's worse some times than others. It seems worse when I'm connected via USB to HX Edit; however, it still does it when there's no cable connected. This is a major PITA when we go straight into another song, or when I forget to look at the set list and start playing the wrong song! Anyway, two firmware updates and I'm still having this issue, so I've realised it probably isn't the bug I thought it was. After doing some troubleshooting I've found that if I assign 'Next Preset' to a different footswitch, the problem goes away (this seems to be the case today, at least!). This suggests that there's a problem with the actual switch; however, when I assign that footswitch to another function, such as Bank Select Up, or Next Snapshot, it never causes problems. Can anyone suggest a probable cause? Thanks

Hi all, I want to be able to send midi note-on messages from the Helix to trigger samples during songs. I've managed to set this up in Command Centre just fine, but the trouble is that the message only gets sent when the switch is released rather than when it's pressed, which makes getting the timing right really difficult. Can anyone suggest how I can get it to send messages on the 'Press?'

Can Line6 fix the disconnecting issues with HX Edit and Big Sur already? Major PITA!

I'm not sure whether it's the same bug or a different one but I've set up 'Next Preset' and 'Previous Preset' switches in Command Centre on all my presets. When I hit the 'Next Preset' switch it jumps the next preset so I have to press 'Next Preset' then 'Previous Preset' to actually get to the next one. Really annoying when you're gigging and don't have gaps between some songs.

Hi all, I've opened two tickets with Line 6 but haven't got anywhere and was wondering whether anyone on here has some wisdom to share. As the title suggests, I have a JTV-69 that I have just bought. It communicates with the Helix via the VDI cable perfectly but scanning in Workbench doesn't find it. Yes, I have done all the troubleshooting: 1/4" jack plugged in, fully charged battery, volume turned up, model select knob engaged. I have a JTV-59 which connects instantly every time. Both lights on the interface are green. I thought it may be that the JTV has old firmware so I tried to connect to L6 Monkey- same issue. Monkey recognises the interface but not the Variax. This is getting really frustrating and I guess my next step is to take it back to the store and get them to order another JTV-69 to try. It also has major 'plinking' issues, which I wanted to try to mitigate with some of the Workbench tips I've come across (trying neutral bodies etc). I'm thinking it may just be a lemon. On the plus-side, it plays beautifully. Any advice?

Okay, so if I change the 'release' setting for that switch to Snapshot 3 it works the way it should. Oddly, it switches on the first press, rather than the release as you would expect. If I set it back to 'none' the problem comes back. Very odd.

I have something a bit weird happening where a footswitch that I have set to recall a snapshot takes two presses to switch. At first I thought the switch had gone bad but then I realised it's only happening on one particular patch and it consistently takes two presses to activate it. Is there a setting somewhere that I need to change? I can't see anything I've done differently in Command Center. I've attached the patch if anyone wants to check it out. So, I've just gone to a Helix + Powercab+ rig and I'm creating patches to use with a live band. I'm not able to get my volume up very loud at home so I know that I'm probably going to end up with settings that are too bright and not mid-rangy enough to work live. However, I'm wondering how well the High Frequency Trim in the Global Settings works to tweak tones globally when I get to rehearsal. Does anyone have experience with this? In theory it seems like it would work well in the absence of a Global EQ when using L6 Link. Also, does anyone know whether the Hi Freq trim has any affect on the signal sent out of the Powercab's Output jack?

So I just bought a JTV-69. Scanning in Workbench doesn't find it; however, I have a JTV-59, which is instantly recognised. 'Okay, maybe the '69 needs a firmware update' I think to myself. After wasting time trying to work out how to do this it seems like Line 6 has never updated Monkey to work with OS Catalina? WTF? How am I supposed to update? Help?

Hi all, When the Powercab is connected via L6 Link, I can't seem to get Global EQ to work. I can apply it ti the 1/4" or XLR outs but not L6 Link. Am I doing some thing wrong? It would be really useful to be able to use it.

I've got a Powercab Plus for the weekend to try out. My experience is the same- the speaker models on the Powercab sound terrible to my ears, to the point where I initially thought there was something wrong in the setup. Maybe you can EQ the patches to get them to sound decent with the speaker models, but for live use, that means the Powercab will be sending the EQ'd signal to the mixer which will probably sound like crap through the PA. I'm happy with the sound I'm getting in FRFR mode with IRs in the chain on the Helix. For this reason I think I'll end up getting a pair of standard Powercabs. It's interesting how the Helix's cab emulations sound radically different/better than those on the Powercab. I understand that what's coming out of the Powercab excludes the mic modelling, but I don't think that accounts for the difference.

Hi all, I'm looking at getting a Powercab Plus and have been reading up. I just wanted to confirm that if I use the speaker modelling on the PC, that it excludes mic modelling, and that mic modelling is only added to the signal coming out of the output of the PC? I think that's what's implied in the manual but I just want to be sure. Thanks.

Sorry if I'm being dumb, but 'Show info' isn't one of the options that come up for me when I right click. 'Get info' is, but I can't see a low resolution option in there.

I'm having a really frustrating problem where closing the Helix Native plugin window crashes Logic. Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions of how to fix? I'm running LPX 10.5.1 and Catalina 10.15.6.

Okay, big sigh of relief! Once I selected 'Per Preset' in HX edit and went out and back into my presets, they were working as they should.

So, after updating I've found that all the settings saved in presets and snapshots have disappeared! This is going to take me hours to fix!

Has anyone else noticed that their Variax settings in their snapshots and presets have disappeared since updating? All my tunings etc have gone back to the standard defaults! This is going to take hours to fix!

I'm experimenting with this at the moment too. I'm finding that the Helix's preamp models are very quiet and hollow sounding compared to the preamp section of my amp (a DSL40cr). When I want to use amp modelling in the Helix with this setup, I'm finding using full amp models rather than just the preamp is yielding the best results. YMMV of course.
