  1. Yeah, we discovered in this thread that left click and hold for 2 seconds brings up rename on the setlist name. Really not intuitive. Glad I'm not the only one!
  2. Right. When you simply left click on the name here it opens the dropdown menu. I would think a right click menu would open to say "rename" but that doesn't happen. The click and hold thing is pretty unusual (as a guy that used Linux on my own computer for years, Windows and Mac on various work computers, I've never seen this behavior before).
  3. I have never heard of click and hold for rename before. Right click did not do it. I'll try the click and hold thing. That's really not intuitive though, at all.
  4. Probably a stupid question, but I can't figure out how to rename setlists (USER 3) from the editor. I can do it on the unit but that's clunky.
  5. No doubt. :-) https://soundcloud.com/northerndarling/circles (made before I got the Helix, but you get the gist)
  6. This was on a fresh preset, and I promise I didn't assign the Exp toe to the IR, as evidenced by the fact I didn't even know how to do that to turn it off. Strange.
  7. I'm pretty sure this fits into the "custom scales" bit that you can design on the computer. You only have three presets to work with, but that will cover it. Every time you play Tonic harmonize a third, ever time you play Supertonic harmonize a fourth, Mediant harmonize a third again. This is something we can't do on the Helix yet. I can do it on my Voicelive from TC Helicon. But yeah, the sound quality was what I was thinking more about. Tracking and sound quality seem to be the issue most people here take with the pitch shifting on the Helix (which really isn't that bad, don't know why it's sh*t on so much).
  8. I have an IR on a preset, and just added a Wah to it. When I press the expression pedal down to engage the wah, my IR gets bypassed. I can't seem to figure out how to stop this behavior. Looked in the manual and can't figure this one out. Edit: Ah, there I found out how to edit bypass assign when I can't touch the bypass button. The burger bar near the preset knob is what I was looking for. Why is Expression Toe a default bypass assign for IR? Why not have it like any other regular block?
  9. http://www.tcelectronic.com/quintessence-harmonizer/ Custom scales? Check Great sound? Seems like check Single or dual harmony. Delay option. C'mon Line6, I know you can do this.
  10. The official backpack. The pouch on the outside more than happily will fit an H9 and an expression pedal (or two) and all the cables you need. I would say it's worth the setup/teardown time to not have a heavy hard case and board with the Helix. The backpack is very protective. If you're flying with the Helix for gigs that's a different story, but if that's your situation you should spend money on a really quality one that's custom for your needs I would think.
  11. Just wondering if anyone has found any models or easy to get (aka free) IRs that match a Tubemeister amp. I used to have a Tubemeister 1x10 combo (they don't make that size anymore) and I loved that little amp. Looking to get there if I could.
  12. More filter models is high up on my wishlist for the Helix. I don't use the amp models, I got the unit mostly for the effects. The standard envelope filter is good, but I do wish there was at least also a seekwah.
  13. I would test the fuzz pedals in the effects loops and in front of the Helix. It's possible that you'll really not be able to get the sound from the fuzz you like when it's in the Helix loops and you'll have to put it out front. Sub N Up and Ricochet should be fine in the effects loop.
  14. This: https://tjbassoon.com/little-jake/ I designed the pickup to work with regular guitar stuff well, so I just go to the guitar in. I've seen no need to use the Aux in so far.
  15. Just wondering if this is a setting that occurs at the end or front of the signal chain. Not that it matters in many situations, but for instance my instrument in a flat state has a significant low end that will affect things like envelope filters in a significant way. I usually throw a low end roll off at a pre-amp level to balance the sound out, but then need to adjust the gain stage of pedals to compensate for the lower total signal. If the global EQ is before any effects it's good to know this.
  16. Now I'm not sure if you're trolling or not. Yes, I started talking about a specific kind of bypass switch. Because we're talking about the impedance of any given block in its bypassed state. If the first block is not active, it should not set the impedance. Yes. But also any further inactive blocks should not change the impedance from where it was after the last active block (which they currently do). It's not just about the first active block, it's about the impedance of any block in the inactive state.
  17. Input impedance *when the block is active* and input impedance *when the block is not active* are what we are discussing here. We're not discussing impedance and bypass as if they are the same thing. Not at all. You're the only one that seems to be putting this idea out there. Many pedals use 3PDT switches that when set to "pedal off" mode mean that the signal passes through wires only, no significant impedance change to the signal at all. Many pedals operate this way. I've made many myself. All people in this thread are asking for is a way to have a block option to operate in this fashion. You're the one making it more complicated. Regardless of how the impedance is operating in the Helix now, many fuzz pedals, for example, really operate differently when put directly after the guitar pickup in a signal chain. If you put something else before it (with any kind of bypass switching other than 3PDT hardwire switching) the input signal is different to the fuzz pedal compared to the guitar pickup. The impedance changes. If you have pedals that are "true bypass" when not active, the fuzz pedal sees the input signal as if it were first in the signal chain, getting the sound most guitar players want. How those pedals between the guitar pickup and the fuzz pedal (in my example) bypass the signal when not active is what we're talking about here. What is the impedance change of a signal when the block or pedal is not active?
  18. You're contradicting yourself here. I don't think you understand the use of the term "bypass" as is commonly used in English speaking communities about guitar effects pedals. "If pedals in reality were true bypass they would not impact the input impedance." That is a true statement. There are many such pedals. Helix does not reproduce this behavior. Why is the simple solution here not been suggested (or maybe it has but it's buried in a lot of noise)? Either a global or by-block setting for "true bypass" or "buffered bypass" for each block. "True bypass" would mean the block is completely 100% gone from the signal, as if the user removed the block from the preset completely. "Buffered bypass" is the current behavior (either scenario #2 or #3 as Rebel420 posted above, possibly different per effect based on how the real life model acts), left as the default. Edit: Yes, this has been suggested, by zooey, basically saying what I'm saying. It's not that hard.
  19. I know it's not glamorous, but seriously, as I said above, this pedal works great out of the box and it's under $30. https://www.amazon.com/M-Audio-EX-P-Expression-Pedal/dp/B000NLRWEI Set the switch on the pedal to "M-audio" not "other" and invert the polarity on the Helix or you get backwards sweep.
  20. Awesome. Too bad it's so expensive. I don't need this with my Helix as I don't carry it on a board, but my other rig could really benefit from this. Found this post though! http://line6.com/support/topic/15903-ikea-capita-legs-make-perfect-pedalboard-mic-stand-mounts/ http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60263574/?query=CAPITA+Leg Oh my goodness there are a lot of options for this I had never found before (despite looking! found out what the right keywords were to search for). http://www.fullcompass.com/category/Flanges-For-Table-And-Wall-Mounting-Of-Microphones.html
  21. Just for future reference, it's covered on page 52 of the manual. Although I can see how it'd be easy to miss if you didn't know what exact terminology to actually look for.
  22. Man, all this trouble and my super cheap M-Audio expression pedal works great with the Helix out of the box (had to set it to "inverted").
  23. The first two tracks here are good: https://soundcloud.com/northerndarling Those are with a Voicelive 3 though, I haven't had the Helix long enough to record anything with it.
  24. Ok, that explains what I'm hearing. It's good to know that the ping pong sums the signal first. That could make a difference for sure for people running stereo or w/d/w rigs. I just used the ping pong delay in my initial tests with this routing because I figured it'd be a good way to clearly hear both channels coming into the FX return.
