Really? For an update that not offically announced, there sure is alot of work being done on it. So you post info here whenever there's an update? How nice. How about you also consider sharing what you do/did with the peeps over at TGP too D.I. ? Need a few examples? Ive done it for you. Here's some of them, about the 2.9 update listed at TGP. I listed them here because lots here who bought Helix and hang here have not read this stuff, and you wont post anything unless of course there's an update it seems. Much better eating elsewhere I guess eh?... ; ) There's no need to add anything else here D.I. , I will copy any more news and post it here in about 6 months or so.

And if not, you can always find the answer on TGP... ; ) lol

Fair enough molul, but if they have the spare time enough to post over there... This place is either worthy of that same information, or it isn't. Looks like it isn't, and I don't understand why that is. I am not blaming the devs (I am their bosses) for anything they are doing except that part of not adding us in the loop here too. We are customers of Line-6 products, just like those over at TGP. They (Line-6) work to make money as the rest of us do, and yes that benefits us. OTOH supporting this site doesn't give you cancer or take more than a minute to copy and paste to include the information here. So why do I feel I am I the only one wanting to get this here? I'm not trying to suggest they do anything they are not doing now, I'm just want us "added in" that loop! And we are not "in the loop" ATM. So Is that so awful? If I have a point as you stated, then is it that I hold on like a Bulldog when right and it comes off too anal for some here to swallow? Cause if thats it, then I understand completely and apologies for my analisty. But if you are backing the actions of a few for not not posting Helix updates here (because they have a choice) while that same information gets posted elsewhere (because they made a choice to post it over there), then my anal ways and me totally disagree with that choice and mindset. Peace brother ; )

Yes I get that, bring in new business and make more money for Line-6 !!! Sascha. NO issues as that is what a company should be doing, esp now. But err what about the "old" money spent folks? I don't mind D.I. or anyone else from Line-6 posting new information about Helix over there, BUT POST IT OVER HERE TOO! How hard is that? Elsewise what the point of this place, really? Too just lollipop (which Im good at BTW ; ) ) not getting any info here? LOL. I have better things to do than that believe it or not, and guess I should be doin them, and so do you. Peace brother!

First Im a D1ck and now Im a "buddy"? Good I prefer buddy. ; ) No it's not up to us, but it should be up to "them" at Line-6 to support their own forum. One reason, because D.I. works and rides for the brand (or should) for Line-6. This is the "Official" Line-6 forum, is it not? If it is, they why does the new information on Helix get posted over at TGP first? Yea, that's caused a burr under my saddle for a while and its the "ONLY" thing I hold againts D.I.- nothing else. Im sure he couldnt give a rats @ but thats the whole point I'm making here. Why? Either you support the official forum for the Company you work for, or you don't. Your choice I guess, but not doing so doesn't make it right for the users here. I don't blame D.I. for not giving out info he can not release, but I do blame him for ignoring this place and posting that information elsewhere 1st. Thats basically it, plain and simple. If that is fine with most here then I guess Im just a d1ck as you suggested ; ), OTOH I support the forum and think HE should too.

Not to discourage you from trying, but I found that the units for me work better by themselfs, after weeks of trying to control them together. You see, the Kemper can send Program Change messages but it can not send CC (control change) messages (Like Helix needs and does well), and that was the showstopper for me in combining them. Please post your setup if you can do this, Id like to see it. ; )

Yea he does OWE me an explanation as to why he said my points are not valid, and I'm just causing trouble. Im not trying to cause trouble, Im just stating facts, and the fact is we DO NOT get the infor here from Line-6 like we should be getting, compared to their competition. He (rd2rk) can't do what I ask Him to do because it doesnt exist (and it should IMO), and since Im such a D1ck then I'll ask you to do the same. Can you? "Nobody owes me" is not an answer so prove me wrong gun. Put up or shutup! Ok that was a little harsh even for a D1ck ; ), but you get the point. As you already know, Kemper and Fractal doesn't have that problem, and "they" post update info in their "OWN" forum almost daily. Why can't Line-6 do this? Simple, because they don't want to. And yet those "few staff members" you speak of and cover for post new information on TGP 1st before their own forum, about Helix. Back them up on this if you want to gun, but you and I know that's not right. Ive said it once so I'll say it again, maybe we just need to "close" this place down and move over to TGP since that's where the new Info on Helix always appears. Now Im blowin snot-bubbles lol! And BTW thanks for the "name" calling.
-
Looks like I struck a nerve lol. Prove me wrong then rd2rk and put yer money where yer mouth is. I'm not talking about the "Experts" here. They do all they can do to cover for this "invisible" company info wise. Im talking about the freekin one that pays the light bill. Show me a "single" post from the CEO/Owner of Line-6 here, on this forum talking about Helix updates and fixes, and I'll apologize to the forum and shut up. And BTW- if you can't do that, then you do the same. ; )
-
oops... Too late... Do better? Ur relatively new and that's ok, but I don't think you quite understand qwerty. How could we possibly stop something here that never really existed? Other than a "spurt" or two of posts D.I. did on Helix firmware back before 2.8 updates here a while back, they never really started posting much news on "any" updates here, so they couldn't stop posting entirely unless they start lol... When is the last time "anyone" ever saw the CEO/OWNER of Line-6 post a damn thing here? I'll can give you examples of some that do (Fractal and Kemper) I have seen personally, and often on their own forum. So you see, It's not the user that's the problem and It's not the equipment either.
-
No offense and FWIW..., when you start posting more on updates for Helix here 1st versus posting them over at TGP 1st, then we can talk about posting specific content. I don't care when 2.9 is released, I'd just like to see the news listed here 1st, that's all. That, and have you convince the others at work to release a few tidbits of info more often, like you used to do here. Of Course you can do as you please as always, and so will I. ; )
-
You mean we cant sit in a chair like Neo and just have that stuff "LOADED" into our noggins? ; )
-
No, I'm really not upset. I enjoy Helix as it is. I just wish once Line-6 would change their silence ways to such a degree of posting "something" on their own page. That's better than nothing at all. But Like I said at the first of the message I didn't really expect them to. They make great stuff, but frankly (virus or no virus) their communication dept has always sucked. I had hope when D.I. was here for a while and let us in on some kewl things to come, but I have seen nothing as of late. Maybe I just missed it? If not then that's actually a shame and not because I requested it, because it just is. So no, I'm not in a "situation", Im not blowing snot-bubbles- I just wish they would change their ways a bit. ; )
-
No wonder they all moved to TGP.... lol
-
OK, Im probably pissin up a rope but here goes-, It would be real nice (now that most of us are at home for a while because of that nasty virus) to learn and play with a new update on Helix. Since most if not all the devs/writers of that code are probably at home as well, it would also be nice if they could comment here on a current status. I'm not asking for specific details, but just a ballpark idea of timeframes on where they are. Yea, I know that doesn't happen much here (maybe at TGP) but it would be real nice of them if they could/would do this here, or anywhere else for that matter. FWIW, Thanks for your consideration.
-
Glad it worked for ya- Think you could change the "Joke" comment to "solved" in the topic now?
-
Damn I missed all the fun again... That would take someone from Line-6 being here lol lol ...
-
The one in the editor? Oh wait..... ; )

Using your ears for tone and stage volume doesn't usually require a meter, but getting a 0db level out on multiple tracks sometimes does. Digital clipping occurs and then you are trying to "band-aid" that once in a lifetime track. In other words, "perception" of the volume levels wont work in this regard. Yes, compressors & limiters on the master bus helps during mix-downs, but if you can put everything on a track @ 0db (or less) & without too much "tweaking" involved, it usually works out better with less effort later. As always, YMMV. ; )

"Ubur" ? I think you meant "Uber"- denoting an outstanding or supreme example of a particular kind of person or thing.

DI says at TGP, that 2.90 adds output and gain reduction meters to Helix Floor, Rack, and LT. He also said: https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/helix-2-9.2053030/page-67 Not that anyone asked or should care, but here's my take: Line 6 is the most transparent company in this industry, sometimes to a fault. Anyone who thinks we're not sharing enough might as well say "Amazon isn't big enough!" or "B$%#&@ger needs to copy more!" At NAMM, we knew what would be in 2.90 and decided to share this inside information—and beer/wine—with some friends. (We also showed a ton of early Helix and HX Stomp design prototypes and Ben discussed details on our modeling process.) And we have plans to do it again next NAMM Hence, there's been no official 2.90 announcement As of this writing, 2.90 is ahead of schedule I just want to design gear. Other than my family, friends, and dog, it's pretty much all I think about. The only reason I pay attention to sales is that if a Helix/HX/POD box sells well enough, YGG lets Team Helix take greater risks when designing the next boxes. And at the height of the 2.80 madness, when everyone and their mom was screaming for an update, sales of Helix/HX products shot UP. So yeah. Please. Complain away I say we make um richer and start bitching more... ; )

I was wrong in predicting that Helix 2 would hit the ground running in December 2019. It never happened. It was actually fun in doing so even if there's still no tuner in the editor... ; ) Oh Its still on the drawing board (Duh) and at some future Winter NAMM they will announce it in all its glory, but I also believe that we will be getting at least a couple MORE big patches in Helix 1st beforehand. It would be stupid to invest time in that programming knowing it will be replaced any time soon Im thinking. But then, Ive been wrong before ; )... Either way, It good to be a guitar player these days with all the choices available- So you expect them to be "fair" about the costs of making an updated Helix? Can you give examples of companies that charge "less" for a new and updated more powerful product? I cant. For example; MRI's have been around for 30+ years now, and the ole (and new) R&D on them has been paid for a thousand time over, yet getting one is still costing the patient (or their Insurance) over 2 grand to get one. So good luck getting a full blown Helix 2 for less than $1399.00. Not saying that I hope your wrong, I just don't see that happening, but...., well, you know... ; )

Post at TGP, they may have an answer for ya over there...
