    I want this!!

What's that about? I've double tracked in the studio PLENTY of times and it's never been about the loudness. It's about getting a big sound.

    I want this!!

Ok, I don't often ask for specific amp models effects but dang! This I will ask for.
  3. I don't even give factory presets a chance. With every new modeler I've bought I go straight to creating the sounds I need. The Helix was no exception to this.
  4. Ha ha. So true! I'm a big fan of SRV's sense of feel, timing and his ability to play so far back behind the beat yet never lose pulse - ever. That is extremely difficult to do. A perfect example is his rhythm playing on "Life By The Drop" - incomparable! i also appreciated his willingness to play pieces that are not strictly "Blues" but... like a lot of Blues based guitar players, he would stay within the Blues scale far too strictly for my liking. There are chord progressions that allow you to do that but there are equally plenty that don't. I don't know if he recognized this but stuck to the Blues scale anyway or just didn't know any better. Lots of players do this and it's not pleasant to my ears.

    Go to mic???

Nah. Just give me more mic placements.

    Go to mic???

Laser interferometry? Interesting. An optical means of capturing the sonics. Hmmm... Well... It would certainly be micless. I just don't know how musical it would be without all the flaws and coloration.

    Go to mic???

I've often wondered what it would sound like if you glued a piezo electric element onto a guitar speaker cone and fed that into the console or FRFR system.

    Go to mic???

    I still want this. http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Multiple-Mics-on-Cab-Sims/813019-23508
  9. Yup. This makes for jumpy volume swells - drives me nuts! Even when the volume block is set to Logarithmic, it's still not smooth at all.

    Go to mic???

I use the ribbons exclusively. Never liked the sound of the 57 - so harsh. It's got a huge peak at around 5k and that's where the nasties live.
  11. Using the effects returns is fine as long as you never plan on changing presets. Where's the fun in that?
  12. Yup. I have that fizz with that amp model too.

    A Zero Snapshot

Yeah. It's a complex idea. Not a problem, man. If I do say so myself, I do think this is a very useful idea and I hope it gets implemented. Please upvote on idea scale.

    A Zero Snapshot

Yes. I neglected to mention that stepping on the active Snapshot footswitch or the Preset footswitch should indeed deactivate that snapshot and return the preset to its original settings in the preset - which is what I'm calling "Snapshot Zero". Wait... I just re-read my original post and in fact, I did mention all this.

    A Zero Snapshot

I think you misunderstand what I'm proposing. I just want to change the way the snapshots operate in one simple way. When a preset is called up, it would load the settings and amp models for that preset but although the Snapshots will appear in either the top or bottom row (whichever you've chosen), none of them will be selected. Each Snapshot will be used as a 'modifier' for the preset. Now, as to stepping on the preset footswitch again, this would in effect deactivate the selected Snapshot and would be as you say, "a quick and reliable way back to zero." - All without having to reload the preset from scratch and causing a signal interruption. Only if you choose a different preset would the settings be loaded from scratch.
  16. I find that the Helix has so much signal at its output that you can bring down the volume of the louder presets/amp models and still have a healthy signal to send out to a mixer or amp.

    A Zero Snapshot

I just put this in Ideascale. http://line6.ideascale.com/a/idea?templateId=0 My idea is that when a preset is recalled, no Snapshot is selected. The current settings of the preset will act as Snapshot Zero. Stepping on a footswitch selects the Snapshot assigned to that footswitch. Stepping on it again re-selects Snapshot Zero - the initial settings for that preset. Furthermore, stepping on the Preset footswitch should not recall the preset again as that would cause an interruption in the audio signal. Instead, it would simply act as another Snapshot selector - until another preset is selected. This idea would expand things for users who use "Snap/Preset" setup. It would give us effectively 5 Snapshots instead of 4. Whaddayathink? Cheers, H

    Site login

Weird. I can log on to this site with my phone but not my laptop. The site just goes back to the login page with my user name and password sitting there.

    Oh Snap!

Yeah, I wish you could do the same with the Cab Sims but then my guess is that that would bring about the problem we had with preset switching delay. I haven't investigated yet but I wonder if you can switch or mute inputs with Snapshots.

    Oh Snap!

Finally. I finally got a chance to mess around with Snapshots and WOW! Love this feature! Wasn't sure I needed it but it sure opens up some possibilities.
