  1. I never roll any top end off on the cleans unless I'm going for a Jazz sound.
  2. I think the Helix's early reflections parameter would be a lot more effective if it was stereo. As it is I think it just kinda muddies up and smears the sound a bit.
  3. Yeah, maybe 3rd party IRs are the answer because you're right. They do sound kinda flat and just not as lively as on the Mustang. To me.
  4. Not that I can tell. The Helix's Fender sounds are serviceable but there's something about the Mustangs and the way they seem to get the vibe across. Yeah, they're really kind of a "Fenders Only" type of modeler but damn they do it well.
  5. Hey all. It's me, Mr. Broken Record. I hope a Global Effects Return is included. One that is unaffected by patch changes so that a playing loop from an external looper will continue to play regardless of patch changes.
  6. A true Modulated Delay effect. Please upvote. http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/A-True-Modulated-Delay/840737-23508
  7. Lordy. The reality is that only you can decide that. I would highly recommend going to a store that has a "Loud Room" and ask if they would allow you to checkout just such a setup. The hard part is, that all of the warts (as you the player will perceive them) won't reveal themselves until you're actually gigging with the new setup. A lot of companies do have decent return policies these days so as long as you're careful with the Helix, buying one and using it in real world situations is the only way to get real world answers. For me, unless I'm doing a really simple specific genre type gig, which is very rare for me, the inflexibility of amps, tube or otherwise will never cut it.
  8. Hmmm. Too bad. I love the sound I get when I physically slowly move the delay time knob on an analog delay. That to me, is the best chorus there is.
  9. On the Modulated Delay, is the "modulation" really just a simple chorus after the Delay or is the time delay parameter actually being varied or modulated by an LFO? Thanks.
  10. Sounds like an impedance issue at the input of the G10. For some guitars the input impedance will be a good match. For others, not so much. I've experienced this in other devices.
  11. This may be a users' forum but as a company, Line 6 should treat it as a customer service forum. I'm not saying the shouldn't defend their design decisions. They definitely should. It's the tone they and their supporters take towards their customers that I take issue with.
  12. Again, you're "listening to respond, not to understand". Although your particular post was indeed not condescending, you are in fact defending the way Line 6 sometimes responds to some of their customers here. I've seen far too many from others that are very flippant and condescending also. The fact that you even mentioned "drawing a line" exemplifies the adversarial approach I'm talking about. It's very "Us against them" - nice attitude towards customers who've spent $1500 on their product.
  13. This comment is exactly what I mean. You take an adversarial and condescending approach to the things people ask and talk about on this forum. A line in the sand? Seriously? A perfect example of "listening to reply, not to understand".
  14. This may be a response to an old post by DI but it still has merit, is still relevant and is absolutely right. The dismissiveness of some of the responses by Line 6 and their ardent defenders is uncalled for, unproductive and doesn't help anyone.

    I want this!!

Latency has no bearing on this effect. It's of no consequence. In fact, it's intentionally delaying the duplicate signals and intentionally varying the delay time and pitch ever so slightly and randomly - which is almost exactly what happens when you double track in the studio. The only difference is that it in the studio, one or two of the signals will be randomly slightly ahead - not possible to do on a pedal... unless it's hooked up to a time machine.
  16. The one on the Kemper is VERY reminiscent of the one on the XT-Live years ago! I loved that tuner... hated everything else about that pedal.
  17. I think if the upper indicators on the tuner were a little slower or at least didn't respond so quickly to every miniscule change in pitch, it would seem more stable. It's too squirrelly right now. It should respond more like the needle in the old Boss tuners. It needs to take a more averaging approach to indicating the detected pitch. I personally didn't have any issues with the old tuner.

Ok, other than the bit about volume, the rest of this response has little to do with your first post which like the first part of this this post, almost sounded like you're saying that you could just turn the guitar up and get the same fullness. I completely disagree. I don't know what you mean by "fader stability". In my experience, all faders are for the most part stable unless they need cleaning. I also don't understand where the bit about plugins came in. We're talking about an existing pedal and the Helix - which uses no plugins. We're talking about the feasibility of having a doubler pedal included in a future update for the Helix for live use.

    I want this!!

I think that's easily dealt with.
