IKEA CAPITA legs make perfect pedalboard mic stand mounts...
Brazzy replied to mikedub's topic in Line 6 Lounge
Great ideas! Thanks for sharing :) -
Sounds good to me. Your on the right track. I use my iPad with MIDI Mobilizer to record the moves I make and then just start playin' after I hit the Mobilzers play button, It makes for very interesting improvisations. You could probably just program your HD500 with your analog pedals in the loop and plug the pods analog out and go right into the DT's FX Return. You should try this if you haven't

Makes sense to me, even if you missed the point you made another good point worth knowing.
-
Not a stupid question. :) Select the wah, depress and hold the enter button, you should be able to select the foot pedal switch. Whoops I guess I didn't read your question right, lol, glad everyone else after me did though. :)

No Prob, I've got the Spider III for someone as a gift and that thing is blasting today. I've never had the opportunity to use an Ampifi. What I like to do is run my Spider Jam's headphone out into a Beat Buddy with an insert cable and the Beat Buddy L&R outs into the FX Return of the HD500. This way I can pipe in the Spider Jam's drums, mic and amp models into the HD500 if I need to. Good Luck with your Amp Huntin'.

They both should get updated when you get them. Go to the knowledge base about the Spider Jam and the FBV and learn what you need to do to. First you should check to see if they've already been updated the knowledge base will tell you. It's pretty easy. You will need an SD Card for the Spider Jam to do the update.and to record and store. I've been using mine since 2008 and it still sounds great. I use it along side my HD500 quite a bit. Knowledge Base links: FBV Spider Jam

DT50 Head - Power light turns on briefly, then goes out
Brazzy replied to tamino's topic in DT50 / DT25
There are 2 more fuses inside the chassis but I never had problems with them to my knowledge. Maybe a bad connection somewhere, sitting over time can cause problems such as a bad capacitor/'s. Maybe you call Line 6. You may have one of the DT's that needed fixing due to manufacturing issues. They might still fix it under warranty. Who knows, you can ask, what's the worst they can say? No? -
I saw that coming, was just bracing myself, lol. I said to myself "oh snap I triggered 1001" and shook my head. :)

I understand completely. Here's a thread that also helped me a lot http://line6.com/support/topic/14480-some-guitar-eq-tips/ by arislaf. This is the one that really helped me at first. http://www.audio-iss...requency-fixes/ I have an Electro Harmonix Tube EQ which is a parametric eq. It has a "Q" which can narrow or widen the focus point, a frequency knob which sweeps the band and gain knob. It also has a Bass and Treble knob which can cut or boost. If I plug it between the pre amp and power amp of my DT50HD or Valveking II 20MH it really thickens the tone quite a bit and allows me to shift like a wah with a pedal. I don't use the pedal part much but when I want a thicker tone I turn it on.
-
I was wondering how you made out. Every now and then I play around with the EQ's in different ways to find out how I might be able to use them and it gives me a better understanding of them. I always make sure I limit my tweaking time so I play more and tweak less. The other day I was playing with just using the full amp models (no effects at all) through my Spider Jam Aux input and had a pretty good time. I never really played much with no effects like even a little reverb before so it was kind of a liberating experience, lol. I went to the dentist but didn't get my teeth cleaned, was too expensive and I didn't re-up the insurance. My teeth feel great anyway, lol. They did a great job on me in the last 6 years or so. They got me to floss now, I'm good to go for a while. :) Besides the dentist had "Dragon Breath", lol.
-
I would like to try to explain it to you but I've got somewhere I gotta go. Peter Hanmer had a great video. Check it out he explains a good way to cut with the para eq. I'll be back after I go to the dentist, lol. Another thread about the EQ usage. http://line6.com/support/topic/3953-i-just-discovered-the-value-of-eq/ and as below the global eq is of use too.
-
Maybe right, FRFR lets all the highs (everything) through. Trying to cut with parametric might help

I was fooling around with usng just the full amp models going into a Spider Jam aux in. So I had no effects in the chain at all. I went through all the amps that had enough default volume to use and some pretty good tones to be had here. Then I added a studio eq after the mixer and set the expression pedal to control the gain min= 50% max=75% and went through the rest of the full amp models that didn't have the volume and boosted them with the pedal. Pretty good amp tones and that's the default settings on the amp. Then I tried just switching the cabs to see which cabs gave more highs, blah blah blah. Worth the time to go through them like this. I never did and I had this thing for years now, lol. Just goes to show I'm always learning something new. Of course then there's all the deep parameter settings to try,

Another thing that might help in your garage tone is to try using the 57 on axis mic, this gives that raspy tone.

WOW!!! LOL :) That was intense. Thanks Man! Your music is KILLER duncann!

Distortion, Distortion, Distortion, High Gain amp Cranked or even a low gain amp cranked. Hammer the hell out of your guitar and back off 'till you can hear some of the main notes, lol. I know I'm kinda joking but I'm not far from the truth. Lately, I've been using the Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal pedal and Zoom MS100BT into the guitar input on the Pod. Then another distortion or boost/dynamic comp of some sort after that, What a mess I can make with that. Nice Mess Like this https://soundcloud.com/reeleeze/rav-vee-oaley Not maybe the best example, lol. Anyway the Patch http://line6.com/customtone/tone/1773720/ I recorded with RiffWorks Standard adding some compression in the DAW. I monitored with the Pod's 1/4" analog out into a Spider Jam's Aux input with some compression added in the Spider Jam's aux settings. I run a stereo drum into the Pod's FX Return and mix with the mix setting in the FX loop settings. I usually have a studio EQ at the end of the chain so I can boost the drums if I want more bass etc.etc.

Damn, That sounds like what I do, lol.

Yep, This article about buying headphones might help too. Headphones Buying Guide I don't work for Sweetwater but the article looks good.

Yes studio headphones is what your looking for.

I got Ya! I do that sort of thing for fun and it teaches me something I never really thought about. I agree with you wholeheartedly. I'm still using the HD500 when I first got it I didn't even know how to ask a question, lol. I just read some stuff here and there on and off and the twisted knobs trying to figure it all out like puzzle. These days the HD500 is not as big of a puzzle to me. Just keep twistin' 'till ya can't twist no more. :) and don't forget play guitar :)

If you cant figure out the "Ripple setting".....Drink some, lol.
-
About the Ripple Control? The manual says things get freaky at higher settings so I guess they get frequey, lol. From WIKI The most common meaning of ripple in electrical science is the small unwanted residual periodic variation of the direct current (DC) output of a power supply which has been derived from an alternating current (AC) source. This ripple is due to incomplete suppression of the alternating waveform within the power supply. As well as this time-varying phenomenon, there is a frequency domain ripple that arises in some classes of filter and other signal processing networks. In this case the periodic variation is a variation in the insertion loss of the network against increasing frequency. The variation may not be strictly linearly periodic. In this meaning also, ripple is usually to be considered an unwanted effect, its existence being a compromise between the amount of ripple and other design parameters

Thanks and you know I will. Getting back to this EEG thing. I wonder what other things one can control. I know this brain activity reading subject is growing. Years ago I was hearing that someone or company has found out sure fire way to find out if a person is telling the truth or lying with a sort of MRI of the brain. I wonder how the 2 might be linked, lol. That person said a certain part of the brain lights up when one lies and another part lights up when the truth is told. Just recently I remember Michio Kaku saying that a dvd image of a persons brain can be recorded so this would include one's character, personality, knowledge, creativity, etc and could be used to replicate a person even after they die. Like in a robot or a hologram. The possibilities are amazing to me.
